Hello!
I have JaggyROM 4.1 on my Explorer.
Everything seems to work fine, except for the following error in Mount2SD, under the SD-Ext partition heading:
"Error detected while checking sd-ext. Auto correction was performed.."
What should I do?
I have tried searching the forums for an answer, couldnt find it.
Thanks!
Nothing.
As said, auto correction was performed. It was supposed to be a bad block. If you get the same error, try formatting sdext and try. Watch out for burnt nand though.
Removed. Happy?

Hello,
After reading many posts on a couple of forums, i've decided to do the modaco rom on my G2.
I followed the intructions the best i can, wiped my phone (I know it said this is not needed but thought i might as well, fresh slate and all that), did the core update and the phone rebooted with out any problems.
the unit botted up and I started the start up sequences.
Got to the google account screen and picked the logon option.
Entered my user name and password and the phone sent off to try and connect.
it failed the 1st time, o well thought i'd try again. after bout 30mins of retry, enter password, failed, retry, enter password.
i got a bit annoyed, i know the user name and password is correct, cause it works on google mail.
i tryed it abit more and it still did not work.
i went back to the android system recovery screen and went to do a restore, with the idea that i did something wrong and start again.
I noticed an error below the menus saying
"Build: CynageonMod V1.4 + JF
E:can't read MISC:
(No space on device)
E:can't read MISC:
(No space on device)
E:can't read MISC:
(No space on device)"
with that error, i thought it be kinda of obvius what the problem is, i've ran out of space.
I restored the backup and proceded to remove some apps and format the SD card.
went back in to the recovery menu, the same error is still there.
went to do a back and i got the same error.
I've did a search and only a couple of posts came up with this error. none of them really gave any answers to the problems.
I'm not stuck, not sure what i did or how to fix. any help would be great. thanks
EDIT 1:=- still looking in to this. would the fact that i have not partitioned my SD card have caused this? its only 2gig.
So I installed the latest wingray ICS nightly for my xoom, #48 and after that it wasn't responding so I went to restore from a nandroid backup. After the backup I noticed that none of my apps where there so I did a factory reset and it's giving me the error in the title. It gives me the same error with anything that has to format /data. I managed to delete the file but it seems to appear again when I try to format. Some help would be appreciated because I'm out of ideas. I'm using the reccomended recovery and everything like that, nothing fancy, I just had the rom and Gapps installed and it had all worked fine up until that point.
Thanks
Well I ended up using fastboot to format it. Got rid of everything on my sd card but at least I can use my xoom now. Still wondering if anyone knows why that happened or a better way to deal with it next time if it happens again.
GET YOUR DATA /data/media WITHOUT loss: error in /data/system/packages.xml format
did you try using adb pull C:\xoommedia /data/media/ ? that wouldve recursively grabbed it all.. i had to do something similar recently.. so long as the partition isnt corrupt it can be pulled recursively using adb pull command and dumping it into a local directory. i pulled my data, then tried using eraseData in /sdcard/clockworkmod/ as solarnz mentioned in the clockworkmod thread but that still didnt format /data fully to the point of rewrite so i did like you and fastboot -w ..
sorry i realize this may have come too late but hopefully it will help someone else.
if this ever helps you hit thanks! thanks!
I actually had it working enough that I could transfer files from in the actual OS. Forgot to copy over my wallpapers though Ah oh well. Thanks anyway
mz601 same xml error
What fastboot commands did you use ? Help can't install properly ..no market ..arrrrrr
fastboot erase userdata
It'll format your entire internal sd
"Error removing /data/system/packages.xml"
I had the same exactly on this file.
In CWM, Factory reset didn't work, restoring a backup neither, only a lower level operation with fastboot did the trick
Probably ext4 corruption?
My problems began when the tablet started rebooting while being in market..
h ttps://github.com/TDR/android_bootable_recovery/blob/stingray/roots.c#L302
ret = remove (path) returned -1.
remove() from stdio.h:
On success, zero is returned. On error, -1 is returned, and errno is set appropriately.
Adding a display of errno could help. Or fsck before formating?

If you really expect help, you must be at least 10 times more precise in describing what you want to do, which versions of which software you were using, what you did (step by step), and which error messages you got. Also be sure to read and post appropriate log files.

I did all step by step stuff and when i'm formatting with twrp recieving failed note, it say's unable to mount data. ( how i said before i managed to format internal storage with twrp_f2fs.blob easy)
Then i thought what the heck, i downloaded Ubuntu, f2fs tools, tried with gparted format to f2fs, still i couldn't get it done, because then it just shows this card is unformated. My card is sandisk 64gb uhs - 1. I do not know what logs means, thats why i'm tring to explain what i did right now Maybe there are another way to format card into f2fs? Tried to use google, searched for variuos software, like paragon, minitool, and many, many more, no one supports f2fs, only gparted on ubuntu, but it wont do it, just refuses to help.
While working with Link2sd, I moved a ton of apps to the SD's 2nd partition, using f2fs file system. Rebooting the phone (XT926 - 4.4.2 - rooted), the 2nd partition was no longer accessable and, of course, the apps vanished. Worse, I can't re-install some of them. I get the "not enough storage" gripe. Short of doing an FDR, is there any hope of recovering the data or at least making it possible to re-install the lost apps? FWIW, I tried reading the SD under Win7 (nothing found, of course) and SuSE Linux with f2fs.tools installed. Still nothing.
How SOL am I?
I did an FDR.
It looks as though EXT3 is a workable choice. Right? Wrong?
I posted following is posted at the end of Working CWM Recovery for LOCKED 183.46.15 + Deodex and more
[... I]t appears that two related problems have shown up. And those error messages lead to 2 points.
A) Apps like Link2SD and Apps2SD, which move data from the internal "SD" to a real SD, fail to work. The errors all feature some form of the mount failing.
B) busybox isn't visible to these apps.
Busybox is located in /system/xbin. The link apps try to mount a second partition on the external SD. The mount utility is supplied by busybox. The errors say that /sbin/busybox can't be found. I think the system PATH is supposed to make calls to /sbin/busybox resolve to /system/xbin/busybox. I created a symlink from /system/xbin/busybox to /sbin/busybox. That changed the nature of the error messages somewhat but otherwise didn't correct the "mounts don't work" problem. After rebooting the phone, the symlink had to be created again as it wasn't present after the reboot.
I spent a lot of time with the Apps2SD developer (no reply from the Link2SD developer), trying to figure out what was going wrong. At the end of the day (literally), the problem was, in her mind, the ROM. Of course the ROM in the MAXX HD is locked up, so that can't be the source of the problem. But... is it possible that deodexing, or at least the process that installed the deodexing mod, subtly broke something related to busybox?

There isn't much to be added here except to ask if anyone has used one of the "link to SD" apps successfully.

You don't say... [/wink]
So does Link2SD not work with f2fs? I get "Second partition not found"
I'm currently trying to move some apps on an LG G2 Mini running Lollipop to the SD card so I rooted the phone using KingRoot and tried to follow this guide but for the love of me I can't make Link2SD see the ext2 partition.
I've tried formatting it to ext4 as some people have suggested, to ext2, giving it a label or not but nothing helps. The partition goes second, is marked as primary and Link2SD is granted root permissions so nothing should be wrong and yet every time I am prompted to choose the filesystem of the second partition, I get an error saying that the script can't be created and a "mount: No such file or directory" error. Also, when I choose the "memory" option in the upper right of Link2SD, the "2nd SD partition" bar is empty and says "not installed" underneath.
What could I do to make it work?
Wow, it just... worked. Dunno how in the world, but it did. I just plugged the card into my PC to copy some files to the media (FAT32) partition, didn't format anything, put it in the phone, started Link2SD, it said there's an invalid path, I restarted the phone, started Link2SD, selected ext2 and this time it just... Worked. Rebooted and everything works fine. No idea why it suddenly decided to work but maybe it will help someone to recreate the steps I did
