I know, but don't we need some updates. Nothing is wrong with keeping a thread for updates now that all are 100% possible.

The point of this thread is to be a place easily found by everyone in our forum for the devs to post new updates now that we have kernel source. Sorry but i couldnt find your thread here on our forum mate.

Phresh... You've been in these forums long enough to know that not one of our developers are going to dignify this thread with a comment, especially since they have posted their "update plans" in the threads of their respective roms.

I think an all in one thread for CM7 or MIUI updates shouldn't even exist, unless one of the devs working on the ports creates it. Then it can be stickied and we don't have to worry about searching through pages of flaming for the updates!

You realize since we have source now, it aint gonna be a port but a build just for us!

I say just keep your eyes on the Android Development section and keep your fingers crossed for the holy words to grace it .

So is this a thread to decide on whether to start a thread for miui or cm7 development?
Im all in favor of having a thread that the devs can give us periodic updates on their progress with the roms. As long as the thread has a rule that you can not ask in anyway for eta's.

[Q] no 4.0 for Captivate

I read in article that ice cream sandwich will not be available for the Captivate.
Is there anyone working on something that will be very similar?

Teamhacksungs ics port. It is going to be cyanogen mod 9. There is a thread for it in this forum. Also, this thread should be in the Q&A section, not development.

I read that too but then I also saw that they were "revisiting" this and it is possible the galaxy s and galaxy tab may get the upgrade. I however doubt the captivate will get an official release since we still dont have official GB, blame AT&T

No they're not Thread closed and moved - we know the official word is no ICS, there are plenty of developers here who will make it happen for us.

Noticed that ICS is now ready for download for T-Mobile Galaxy 2, praying for a port to galaxy blaze, anyone going to try and port it?? If not, any opinions on best custom rom and tweaks would be welcome!!

LOL, another thread for ICS on the blaze? I believe this has been covered a number of times now.
Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand it is possible to port ICS over from another phone however that requires creating a kernel from scratch. Doing so is extremely time-consuming and difficult and there's no point for a dev to work on that when we're slated to get an official release on our phone in the (hopefully) near future.

This type of comment/question doesn't belong here in the "Android Development" section. Please use the General section for this. Also please familiarize yourself with the 'search' feature. As someone else stated there are like half a dozen threads about this already. Also please read this:

I told him to do so, so he could go to completely another forum (not XDA) and ask this noob question there, where nobody knows him.
Now you get it?
It would be very funny experience for him to find out what other people on other frums know about SGS4 or phone flashing at all.

I would probably get people telling me off and not wanting to teach me... Happens a lot on these forums, luckily the constant S4 questions have kind of died down here and people like myst tend to point them in the right direction instead of just making a fuss about it.

Why not just report it and move on?
Anyhow, congrats on new device, go forth & make it great like you did for sgs4g..

Top just posted on G+ that he has KK booting but most things are broken... That does not mean we are for sure going to get it all working for the I727, but TC is surely working towards getting us yet another year of flashing and hopefully DD...

Very cool! I tried compiling it last night, but it failed pretty quickly. I'm not a developer, so I don't know how to fix it.
