Game data files not recognized - Galaxy S Advance I9070 General

Hi. I don't have a Wi-Fi and sometimes when I want a game I install the apk and download the data files from the computer.
For example, I installed Asphalt 6 and placed the data files in Android>Data, but the game still wants to download over 500mb of files. I tried both in the phone and on the SD card. And yes, I follow instructions as to where to put the files (some games need to be placed in Data, others in Obb file)
Also, how can I keep data files on SD card (games like GTA Vice City only want to install on the phone and I cannot move them on the SD card).
Please suggest some possible solution, bearing in mind that I do not have root. Maybe I will root someday, but not now.

Are you sure you placed the data in the right folder? For moving apps to the SD card use AppMgr III.

[Q] copying game data to external sd

any way to get game datas n gps datas to be copied to external sd card without rooting my galaxy r..plz help
without beeing root.
You could try any app in the market (GL2SD o some other, but i don't remember if it need root).
In same games, you just copy the data of the folder in the SD to the external SD. It won't work in the Gameloft games.

Move gameloft folder (and all its contents) from /sdcard to /sdcard/external_sd.
Recreate a blank gameloft folder at /sdcard.
Install Script Manager from Android Market here.
Download SD-Hack.sh here.
Copy SD-Hack.sh to /sdcard.
Launch Script Manager.
Go to /mnt/sdcard.
Then select SD-Hack.sh.
Check Run as root and Run at boot
Click Save and then Exit.
Reboot your phone.
That’s all.

You must move it to your extnal sd path/data/.
Then it can work.

GL to SD not working???

Hello, is anyone of you use the app GL to SD? Does it do the job for you? In fact, there's some issue. For example, the problem for me is that even the data file is said to be moved in the external sd, there's still a copy of it in the internal storage and when I deleted it and I go back to the GL to SD app to open the game, it doesn't load. Therefore, obviously, the game still relies on the data located in the INTERNAL STORAGE in order for it to operate. That's the problem...

It's Working Perfect but I heard that utility NT working only on cm roms.
First of all, Make sure gl to sd have root access. Second you should use file manager and create a file called data and another one called obb in your ext sd card. It depends on the game some can be placed in data others can be placed in obb.

Maybe you mount the folder and the folder you delete is actually in external sd.
Give me a email is more fast to know.
I have the same issue
I have exactly the same problem. I tried Gl to SD on Real Racing 3 and Mini Motor Racing. The application copy the content of data or obb in my external SD Card but the folder remains in the phone. So instead of saving space I'm using twice as much as each of those games should :/ Pretty serious issue. I don't even know if I can cancel what GL to SD did and come back to normal with data internal only. But I tried to start the games renaming the folder in the phone OR the folder in the externalSD and it does not start. A shame.
If anyone have an idea and may know what I eventually did wrong, thanks in advance for sharing the info !
I checked a bit more and it seems that GL to SD functions fine. When I mount real racing 3 a folder "com.ea.games.r3_row" of 1.39 Gb suddenly "appear" in Android/data. This folder is a perfect "copy" of what's in the ExternalSD. If I unmount the game the folder disappear. But before and after my disk space remains identical.
In other words GL to DS mount an image, making android believe a folder is there. But it is here only virtually. The physical folder is in the External SD. It's the same idea as Daemon Tools on PC. You mount an image .img .iso .nrg in a virtual DVD. You can see the content of a DVD in windows eplorer but you know it is not really there. Daemon and GL to SD force your OS to believe that some files are where they are not in order to make a program start.
Other thing that may sound weird : some big programs appear in GL to SD with 0 kb or a very small size. GL to SD moves only what's inside data or obb folders. If a game have nothing in there then no space can be freed :/ Except by moving the application to SD card if your phone does that (HTC, etc). Samsung doesn't. ... which sucks big time.
I tried dozens of "move to sd" apps from om the store on my Samsung S3 but none work on this phone. GL to SD manage to do something really nice already on rooted device. If someone know an app that moves games/app on External SD for devices that does not allow that please let me know ! Thanks
Just to be sure...
lets say hypothetically you fill your entire phone storage up. will there be no room for the game to mount to phone and therefore it will not work? Does mounting fool the system into thinking its in internal storage? or does it actually move it there temporarily? cause if its the latter it doesnt make any sense cuz youll always need to keep 6GB free for 3 2GB games for example...which kind of defeats the purpose...no? does anyone know for sure for sure sure sure what happens?

Foldermount is a better alternative
Or you can use xposed module named OBB to SD(just copy obb folder of your game to sd card/android/obb)
Can anybody tell me that (unmount timeout error) in gl to sd card, how to fix it? i am using Samsung galaxy j7 and my phone is rooted but still there's an error i want to make some free space by game moving games into sd card or tell another app like this plz
my anroid is samsung j7 2015 and it has root access with a custom rom .when i open gl to sd app on my device then it autoclose and shows that cannot found microsd ,pls insert then try again..but i already have a sd card on my anroid of 8 gb ....sO pls help me what should i do.
thXx for advanCe

Xposed module- OBB on SD

Want to save precious internal SD space on your already small internal SD device? OBB on SD lets you play your games and not worry about large game data files taking up space on your internal SD..... I found a thread with the module here --> OBB on SD Thread
Doesn't the stock move to sd already do this?

No. Stock only moves the game or app. Not the obb file which I think is usually a larger data file for the app

Yes! OBB file is way different and larger than the apk. It usually hold information for apps like games with lots of graphics and artworks etc.... So installing alot of games would max out the small capacity internal SD in the device. OBB to SD solves that problem

How can I move large games to the SD Card ?

Hi All,
I'm a bit of a newbie to Android & i'm having a very frustrating problem. I'd like to install and run large games from my SD Card because it has a lot more room on it. The problem is that every game i try refuses to work unless the OBB files are in my phone's Android\obb directory. If i move them to the SD card's Android\obb directory then the game just seems to download the necessary files and put them on my phone. Even if i move the app to the SD card after installing the APK, it still looks at the phone for the obb files.
I'm using a Note 8 and i'm not rooted.
Any help appreciated !
