[ROM] Lenovo A750 S148 - Multilang+Arabic Fix

Hi,
I build this rom for my Lenovo A750 to fix the Arabic problem.
what i added :
root
read/write arabic in browser/sms/gmail (you have to install the arabic keyboard from the market).
a list of other languages taken from Lenovo A750 (MT6575) - A750_S143_120329 - Hebrew fixed by BM here
you need a CWMR to flash this rom.

did anyone try the rom? any bugs?

This ROM is very nice. Its located to en/UK by default. Supports Multilanguage - at least German is supported quite good. I guess there is every language in the list, that is available for android. In the settings no matter what I choose it always displays English would be the selected language. But my selection works - most of the text is German oder Spanish (tested these two). Keyboard is only in QWERTY. It has two launchers installed and the nice lenovo lock screen. It has GoLauncher Ex but seems not to have a Widget. Lenovo Task Manager is a nice tool on that ROM. Playstore is installed but no File Explorer. I guess it's not rooted.
It has sounds on boot animation. Boot animation, theme, etc. looks like stock ROM.

Hello everyone!
This is the first custom ROM for LAVA iris 501 based on stock kernel. In this thread you'll find all my custom ROM for LAVA iris 501 / Prestigio Multiphone 5000 DUO (MT6577). Please be sure to read this carefully in order to avoid unnecessary questions.
Do not mirror my files, as I will always make sure links are working. Instead, please share the link to this thread.
V2 Update:
My main goal with this update is to share a ROM with improved battery efficiency and stability. Also, I pretend to share some of my ROMs which are supposed to be pretty stable and thoroughly tested. So, here you won't find state-of-the-art and feature-rich builds (like MIUI or LEWA), but builds which are more stock and patched with (or without) everything possible to make it more efficient.
Details:
· Based on official Android 4.0.4 ROM (LAVA release: LAVA_IRIS501_S105_20121219; Stock kernel)
· Kernel 3.0.13
· Removed all trial applications and gapps which can be downloaded from Play Store
· Changed boot animation
· Replaced camera app with stock ICS camera
· Fixed mms app (Sender photo issue)
· Enabled MediaTek EPO and A-GPS settings under Location services menu
· Enabled Speech category (Voice search and TTS output) under Language & input menu
· Fixed the bug related to the association of caller identification (CID) with contacts, due to country code prefixes
· Integrated the latest version of Google apps (101 error and 902 error resolved)
· Added FreeSpace and SuperUser
· Rooted (no need to root phone with third party applications) with SuperUser application (v3.1.3) and su binary (v3.1.1)
· Busybox (v1.20.2) installed
· Updated APN list (apns-conf.xml)
· Added AdFree hosts to system hosts file
· Added stock ICS LatinIME and dictionary pack
· Added some build.prop tweaks to improve pictures and video quality, increase touch responsiveness and improve battery life
· Updated Google Play Store (v3.10.14)
· Updated YouTube (v4.3.9)
· Updated TZ data (Time zone data)

· Included JB LatinIME (with predictive swipe) and dictionary pack

How to flash V2:
· Simply place the zip file in the root directory of the SD Card and install via CWM recovery. No need to manually wipe data as it will be automatically cleared by the ROM.

You have done an outstanding work by this mod. Still there is unlimited scope further. Try porting some JB. Camera is unsatisfying. would like to revert back to stock cam.Battery life has increased 20/25%. Ring volume has decreased. UC browser unable to start(its lite edition works).Boot animation is awsome. Free ram has increased.

UC browser is working fine for me. Even the HD one is working perfectly. And yes i have slightly decreased the UI sound. Ring volume is same as before. Even camera is also the same stock camera but with different icon.
Porting jelly bean is only possible if we have JB kernel for our device. I tried MIUI rom (ICS based) on iris 501. Its was working fine but had some issues that is the reason i haven't uploaded it here..

You are the only hope to improve this amazing phone. Eagerly awaiting your next amendment/update.

Y do u want to root your device? There is no custom ROM available for iris 454. And stock kernel does not support over clocking. Rooting is of no use!

There is no problem with keyboard. There might be some problem with your device.

There is no link for stock ROM. Lava does not even provide driver. And u expect the link for stock ROM? :silly:
This ROM is also stock with minimal changes and few bug fixes. Or you can say its a bug free stock ROM

[KERNEL] Jelly Bean kernel for LAVA iris 501
Hey, here is a Jelly Bean kernel for LAVA iris 501. I tried it MMX A110 and ZTE Grand X ROM. And i was able to successfully boot into the device. There was problem with RIL (mobile network), WiFi, BT and Camera. But over all responsiveness of device was great. If anyone would like to develop his own JB ROM, he can get the kernel from HERE . .

Follow only the first post. Don't flash cwm recovery. That is not for your device.

Im prepring custom rom for lava based on ics... with many mods powe menu, extended settings... framework changes not dat uot see ma sig for prev roms... i want ur permission for posting... i used ur rom because its fully stock... easy for me to countinue....

So ahead. But instead of modifying this stock ROM, i would suggest u to port Jelly Bean. I have already posted the working kernel. U only need to find drivers for BT and WiFi.
And another help i need is that i want to increase the size of system partition. Find out a tool which will work for iris 501. System partition size is of around 460 MB. And i want to extend it to about 520 - 540 MB. I have a working JB ROM but i am not able to flash it because of small partition size. So find out a way to increase the size of partition and then our device will also run on Jelly Bean :good:

ofcourse they should have the standard most used languages , english in first place
even some could have all languages

found out about new cool rom which looks like MIUI and it should be stable from Baidu (and they are also preparing new upgrade for which there is public beta)
i will include the stable version and beta version in the first post
i may try this one in a couple of days

I ported Baidu os Jelly bean 4.1.1 rom from lenovo p770(mtk6577,wlan chip6628).I made flashable gapps for this rom also.so everyone can use gapps on baidu os.

i think that Baidu OS was the greatest one when i tried it but like i said i was missing the Google services so no play store
although i have found flashable zips on their forums that may work but i haven't tried them
i have already sold the phone so i wont update this post anymore
check the site on the first post for updated roms

those are all for the dual sim MTK6577 i have no idea that there is with one sim

the best one among those chinese based roms is EMOTION UI v1.6!
I've altered it for my desire and using it:
Some info about the rom:
It is based on famous Huawei Emotion UI v1.6 on jb 4.1.2...
It's stable and has multi-language support but with a twist!*
It has no chinese bloatware in it,
gapps can be applied..
it has full theme support like miui roms
it doesn't have pinky colors in camera!
it has its unique profiles menu

Some tips for usage:
1- first of all it has chinese keyboard, download and use any keyboard you want from playstore -i suggest touchpal x-
2- officially it has two langs -en and ch- but with the help of morelocale2 -from playstore- you can use the rom in your native language

how are u even booting this rom..??? porting mt6577 roms are very similar for all devices... i ported it for my device andi4.5h ... it is not bootloop but stucked with bootanimation ... and logcat is giving lot of android runtime errors... no such lib or module errors i found.... so how to port this rom??

There are several ways /methodes of porting.
Also its now very easy to port ANY mt6589 ROM to an mt6577 device.
Pretty much all your answers are on logs, dmesh info...
I didn't had time to check/fix/mod this ROM.
I just fixed an very BIG bug that plagues ALL JellyBean Roms (4.1.x / 4.2.x) for our zte v970 (and maybe works on other mt6577 devices....)
Basically I was able to fix the Mediate code concerning the faulty hwcomposer/ openGL .
This means that the GFX glitches that happens on some games, and the lag on the launcher are FIXed now, plus will give you an nice FPS boots.
I will release the patch on the next days, next week, it still needs an little bit more work

iBALL Andi 4.5h Development

iBALL Andi4.5h is a monster device in Indian smartphone Market segment... However this device is not that popular in INDIA therefore very few people use it... being one of them I know what performance it can produce... This device now have Jelly Bean 4.1.1 upgrade. It supports plenty of games and any app i tried. It has minimum of 550 MB RAM always free with a good ROM. Initially iball released it with 4.0.4 ICS. Now 4.1.1 upgrade is available. And now that I have found out all the clones of Andi4.5h a.k.a Kata i1 (Philippines), Malata i8 (China), OneScribe Za985 (Indonesia), BQ Aquaris (Spain/Portugal) and UCALL Phoenix (France) so we have plenty of ROMS of all these devices and CUSTOM ROMS too. Among all these devices only Andi has got JB upgrade... but the stock JB has bugs... and some stupid unprofessional mistakes... so we started developing it's community slowly in facebook... when i joined the community ... i saw sir victor laviste and sir Carlman Villareal (Edge Maverick) were started developing rooting methods, custom recoveries (CWM and TWRP both) and roms... that time we had only ICS... so they started with Lewa ICS and all the stock ics such as Kata i1, bq Aquaris etc...
slowly we got the JB upgrade... and one of our group members k****ij shared his full JB Rom backup of Andi 4.5h in the form of TWRP... then sir victor laviste and sam zabala made the flashable stock rom through TWRP/CWM recoveries and SP Flash tool.... Then we got our first custom JB roms from sir Victor Laviste.. first one is LEW JB 4.1.2, then it is Younip JB 4.1.2 and lastly xperia JB 4.1.2... From then i started picking up the speed of Rom development for Andi4.5h... I started with ICS custom Roms and then plenty of JB Roms... and many mods.... Now that we have more than 400 members in FB group... we thought to shift to xda for mass with all roms and mods.... my objective is to start posting all new things one by one....
Here we can discuss all the latest development of Andi 4.5h... everybody is welcome....

[Custom ROM] DRX.1.8.4.0 ICS ROM for Andi4.5h
This ROM is heavily featured with AROMA Installer. One can opt from a range of apps while flashing it. This ROM is more smoother and more optimized than stock Andy 4.5h ICS 4.0.4.
It was developed for ZOPO ZP900. I ported this ROM for our device.
This ROM is full functional and ready to be used.

How to Install:
Use TWRP custom recovery (i have posted earlier).
1. Download and copy the rom zip file to your SD Card.
2. switch off your andi 4.5h.
3. press power+volume up button until you see TWRP on your phone screen.
4. Wipe cache, delvik cache, factory reset, system one by one.
5. install the zip file from SD Card.
6. Once installation finished wipe delvik cache once again.
7. Reboot to system and wait sometime bcoz first boot take sometime.
Enjoy your ROM.

I personally feel zte is better due to 100% perfect and working condition.... and wiko is a near perfect rom.....
btw.. there will be one more jellybean rom of zopo phone in no time.... wait for that...

Yes!! i think so.... presently using JellyTime... planning to shift on to it permanently.... u will try and u will understand why it is way better....
