Hello,
I bought a Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8010. I´m using the original rom (Android 4.1.2), which is rooted.
Now I want to mount a NTFS device.I have red in any thread, that I will need the fuse.ko, but no more information about this module.
Where do I get this for my kernel or do I have to compile it for my own???
Or is there another possibility mounting a NTFS device or do I need a custom rom?
Thank you!
After searching a while, I found no fuse.ko, but the app "Paragon NTFS & HFS+". With this app it is possible to mount ntfs without fuse.ko.
Works great without doing anything else.

Hi
I have a 32 Gb class 4 microsd card and I want to have the ability to get files greater than 4 gb there (need bigger images for LinuxOnAndroid).
Have checked that the kernel is compiled with support for ext2 ("cat /proc/filesystems" shows ext2) but when I plug in sdcard in ext2 or even a flash drive with ext2 through USB-OTG it says that the fs is not recognized.
Probably, something should be done with fstab or I should compile and copy some kernel modules? In kernel config ext2 seems to be compiled to kernel so should be no need for modules
What can I do?
Thanks
Yess, I have the same problem. Devs, people, please create a kernel for N8000/N8010/N8013 and other Galaxy Note 10.1 that will be able to mount such filesystems and there are OTG cable issues with the firmware. Please include all of these fixes in one kernel. I want to see something like the Siyah Kernel which was made for SGS2 and SGS3
Thanks
Some success
Got the sdcard mounted with
mount -o rw -t ext2 /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /mnt/extSdCard
but in this way the note still says it has no sdcard. At least i can read it with filemanagers
I'm not sure if you can load updates that are out, but both OTAs in the US fixed exFat support on the 8013 Note 10.1.

I want ext2, not exFAT as my primary system is Ubuntu and moreover Android is more like Linux than some Microsoft stuff
My N8000 has support for exFAT as sdcard fs, but why not ext2?
Why not go for EXT4 instead of EXT2?
There hasn't been much need for this at the moment, if you ask a dev nicely they might look into it. I'd probably look into either the sgs3 forum, note /note 2 or sgs2 forums for devs who have done this on other devices...

ext4 has journaling enabled... anyway I don't understand how ext4 will work when ext2 can't in this situation.
Have been searching the whole morning and found a lot of threads there. All unsuccesfull or unexpectedly ending
Iˋve been using Team EOS3 (and now EOS4 #88) with KAT kernel and would like to format my microsd card to Ext4 but the system doesnˋt seen to mount it.
I did some research and found that the support for a specific file system can be on either the kernel or on the rom as well, and I know that both EOS and KAT support NTFS full write now, but Microsoft File systems are kind of a pain for me. I would be happy with either Ext3 or Ext4, maybe even Ext2.
On the computer side, Iˋm using Arch Linux and gparted to make the formatting, and the partition table is MSdos.
So, my question now is: Can I enable support for Ext3/4 on this combo ROM/Kernel? How?
EDIT:
It's sorted now, it was an issue involving JB and mounting inside the /storage folder. The issue is gone using EOS4 preview b136 or EOS4#93 both need Kat Kernel 80b or later and the KAT app latest version as well.

Hey guys,
How can i mount an USB key (NTFS) on a P5110 running CM 10.1 please ?
I tried Stick mount and Paragon NTFS but the folder where the usb key is mounted is empty (worked fine with stock rom).
Thanks.
Best Regards.
[Edit]
After a reboot, it's working fine with Stick Mount !
After updating with the new version of CM 10.1 (2013-01-03), the problem is back, the folder is empty...
Someone have any idea please ?
Hi there,
I had tried few different kernel and non of them givies me the OTG mount through stickmount. The StickMount just said it was mounted at /storage/usbStorage/sda1, but when use the file manager to check, the folder wasn't appeared. I'm sure the USB thumbdrive works and the cable as well as in TWRP, I could mount it and even make backup there too.
Anyone could shine some good advice for me?
Current setup:
ROM: Cataclyms
Kernel: n3oHammer_AOSP_V20_cpuquiet
Other testing setup:
ROM: OMNI nightly
Kernel: n3oHammer_AOSP_V20_cpuquiet and some other kernels too.
Thanks.
Ah.. in fact it works as it mounted on the sdcard/usbStorage instead. I searched in wrong folder instead. Thanks for your time.
Stickmount doesnt need any particular kernel
Its NOT mounted in /storage/usbStorage. Its /sdcard/usbStorage

Hi, I'm using PA 4.4 RC1 with ElementalX kernel, and I can't get to work my two USB 3.0 pendrives with NTFS filesystem (exFAT doesn't work too). FAT natively works fine, so this isn't cable or pendrives fault. StickMount gives me an error "The service is busy - try again in a few seconds", when clicking Mount or Unmount. Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+ and USB OTG Helper doesn't works too
Logs of StickMount: pastebin. com/z1kuD8nD
Logs of Paragon: pastebin. com/acdgaiFy
For USB OTG Helper I can't find any logs, and Debug info gives an error "Debug data collection failed".
So is there possibility to get it working, preferably without any additional apps?
Note; I'm using builtin SuperUser, which comes with PA, and I would like to not change it.
And sorry for my bad English
Even I'm using ElementalX and all the three file systems which you've mentioned work fine here. However, I've seen many people who have a problem of their NTFS formatted drives not getting detected. I guess it's just the way it is!
Ntfs is spotty on a devices that use otg. I had no issue getting my 1tb external attached to my phone and nexus 7 without issue.

cm11 suports ntfs read and write out of the box, it also supports exfat. I managed to implememt this feature to my aosp rom. You can try to do the same with paranoid android. I can help you with the rom building. Contact me via e-mail if you are intrested: [email protected]
