Just got my One yesterday and I have an extensive music library stored with Google Music. As you have to use their app to play streamed music stored on their service, I noticed that even with maximum volume settings, it is not playing as loud as I hoped through the speakers. Headphone volume is fine and also other apps like YouTube play loud so it's not apparently the phone, but apparently limitations in the Play Music app? It makes no difference with beats on or off and yes, I have maximum volume set for "media and music" in settings plus the volume rocker on the phone is set to max. Does anyone know of an app I can use with Play Music to increase the sound when using the speakers and has anyone else noticed this?
ooops. Wrong forum, if mod can move to HTC One forum would appreciate.

My Samsung captivate activates the music and video player as soon I put my earphones into captivate 3.5mm jack. is there any way that i can stop doing this look likes this behavior is costing me a lot of battery.
I did try Google and searching this forum before posting this thread. any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Music and video player? AFAIK there are diferent apps for video and music.
Other than that, check if theres a setting you can change on the music/video player.

Maybe there is a problem with the button on your headphones. My music player does not get activated until I press the button on my headphones.

I have the same problem and I think is related to Power AMP player apk. Do you have this apk?
I have noticed similar behavior with my Bose headphones. It seems to launch the music player randomly when I am pulling the headphones out. It doesn't do it every time and I can't seem to replicate it on purpose.

If you're using Gingerbread, Volume+ can give bluetooth sound a serious boost.
You can purchase it from the android market here:
market.android.com/details?id=com.TEST.android.lvh&hl=en
Or install it manually for free from here (at least for now):
androidaudiohacks.com/home/
I've never had problems with music over bluetooth, but videos tend to be a lot quieter. Watching TV on a noisy train was very difficult before I got this app, but now I can hear it loud and clear.
P.S. Excuse the unlinked URLs above. I'm too much of a noob to post links apparently. Just add http

it's fine.. and do u mean the original uhpdate from at&t or a rom using gingerbread?
Bluetooth volume boost?
I have a Samsung Captivate that runs on Firefly 3.0 froyo rom. The problem is that the audio of music and most importantly videos are not loud enough. Voodoo control plus does a great job of increasing the volume for wired headset. But I use bluetooth headset to listen to music and watch movies. I can hardly hear the audio in noisy environments.
Can someone suggest some app or fix or mod to increase volume in bluetooth headset?
I came to know that volume+ app for gingerbread does this job. Any similar app for froyo? or Voodoo control plus can actually help with BT headset volume boost?
I noticed that after installing the ICS update the max volume is quieter than it used to be (possibly ASUS hack for fixing imbalance?) I would like to know if there is a way to boost the volume of the built-in speakers with an app or editing a file, please.
Cheers!

volume+ from the market.
PowerAmp music player and enable Direct Volume Control and/or gain in the app's settings. Tried Volume+ but to me it's just an equalizer thing, which seems to boost volume but at the cost of audio quality.
I have seen many equalizer apps and they create "loudness" not volume (basically boost the mid range near the high end)
My main problem is in Netflix, not music apps. The speaker just is not loud enough to watch anything on it without headphones anymore.
Cheers!

Install equalizer from market and crank everything up to maximum.
I experienced the same low volume problem after upgrading(?) to ICS, and Volume+ crashes immediately upon invocation for me. Have you found an adequate solution to the issue?

Supercurio is working on his Voodoo Plus app to be compatible with ICS, but I guess you already heard of that one. Available until Asus releases the kernel source to add modded kernels.
no sound also after ics update
Same problem.went to market downloaded equalizer by smartandriod app clicked on custom slid bars all the way up but then the middle bar backed off a littlebit sounded to tinny enabled bass boost to around 80% sounds great and it's free.
If I play music that I've uploaded to my phone, the playback volume is very low. I have to jack it up to 30/30 volume to be able to hear it at a reasonable volume. However if I go onto Pandora, the volume is very loud at around 14/30. What's going on here? It doesn't look like there's been many reported cases of this issue.

to follow up- i found that if i have pandora open and running, then without stopping pandora press the window button, then open music from my phone this will problem occurred.
I just reopened pandora, start, paused, closed it, and opened my music and it worked... also, if I lowered the volume to 00/30, then back up, it seemed to work also.
Info
can we control music with handsfree (I mean load next song or previous song with handsfree?).

When I made a failed custom handsfree for my windows phone 7 jumped across songs, raised & lowered my volume like a nut. I'll try this with my 8x as well, but being based on wp7, wp8 should act the same.
So I'm 95% sure windows phone supports next song, previous song, pause/play, accept/refuse call, increase/lower volume.
The question here is if the windows phone command parameters match the ones with the headset you want. Example: an iPhone's headset has different locations for microphone/left- /right sound on the jack, than other manufacturers. Specifications may vary.

Headphones designed for iPhone/iPod should work on the 8X.
Play /pause , next track/ previous track, mic and voice commands all work.
However, FF/RW and volume control do not.
Disclaimer: I tested it with my headphones, the Sennheiser IE8i. It might/ might not work for you. I heard of problems with iPhone headphones on Nokia WP, where some headphones worked and others did not.

I have found that sometimes, if I play a video (like YouTube mobile website) and then try to play music, the music is almost completely inaudible at any volume level. A reboot solves this. I have noticed this on 2 different 8X devices, and also on a Lumia 920. It appears to be a problem with WP8 itself. Can you all try to reproduce this? Play some music. Play a video. Play more music. Repeat.
Hi all, I have a little problem. Using Spofity i have noticed a very low volume level compared to the stock samsung music player app.
I tried to disable all the EQ app on the phone without results.
Someone can help me? Thanks
I use Spotify daily on my S6 with EQ off and audio quality on Extreme. I tried the Samsung Music player and the volume is exactly the same.

Does extreme make much of a difference from normal? And does it take up a lot more space you download the playlist? I have Spotify premium.

It doesn't make a difference to everyone. I just use extreme because why not, I've got unlimited data, I don't save any playlists just stream.

I have the same problem, actually started a thread in Q and A about increasing volume, because it really bothers me.
