Hi,
I present my new app, that develops a recycle bin independent from your file explorer.
In order to send files to the recycle bin (also know as trash), you only need to select the file in your preferred file explorer
then select "Recycle bin" in the "Open with" or "Send to" menues.
When you send a file to the recycle bin (via "send to" or "open with") it is automatically moved to the recycle bin folder
(that's hide).
In the future, if you need to permanent remove the file, you need to enter the RecycleBin app and select permanent delete
the file. If you need to restore the file, enter the RecycleBin then select restore. Is easy!
If your file explorer supports it, you can send folders or multiple files to the recycle bin in a single selection.
Please, test it and let me know your opinions.
Thanks

Only the last removed version of each file is stored in the recycle bin for now.
If you delete a file that's also in the recycle bin, the new version replaces the older.
Working on a version that supports history for the final release.

Hi,
App is now in the Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.recyclebin)
I have added Ads (sorry) and the ability to have various instances of each file (if you send to the Trash
a file that previously sended the two (or more files) remains in the trash)
Sorry: the 1.0.0 uses a different database format. Your previously deleted files (in beta versions) can't be
managed. You can locate the beta trashed files into /mnt/sdcard/.recycle_bin or /storage/sdcard/.recycle_bin if you need it.
Dropbox sync is coming to the PRO version...
I can't download it via Pay...
Can you post direct apk?

For that you only need to enter the app then open the contextual menu of s file then click restore
Or click menu key, then select "selection" then select a group of files then select restore
Working nicely. Cached process and no running services. Perfect! Thanks.

I cooked up a little battery % mod for CM7 on the MT4GS just now in the UOT kitchen. Very easy to do in case you don't like mine and want to customize your own. Here's a pic of what it looks like (only the battery portion):

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And here's the link:
http://www.multiupload.com/A03A3LYUKF
Instructions:
1. download zip
2. reboot into recovery
3. make nandroid backup just in case
4. wipe dalvik/cache
5. install zip from sdcard
6. reboot
7. enjoy
I'm not responsible for people ruining their devices because they didn't make a nandroid or tried to flash this on a ROM other than CM7.1 for the MT4GS. That's what this battery mod is made for and I'm not going to guarantee results of any kind.
Will this work on the Virtuous rom as well?

Just pull the files that it asks for, our phone is not on the list. You are rooted right? Use a file explorer to find the files
framework-res.apk
com.htc.resources.apk these are located in /system/framework
and also get
SystemUI.apk
Which is located in /system/app
Then select upload system files instead of choosing from the list, and up load the files. It works great, I themed my whole phone last night.

I'm a rookie, would you please give details explanation how to do this
, yes my phone is rooted hboot unlocked with s-on.
Get a root explorer, I use Root Explorer, it is a paid app, and totally worth it if you are rooted. I am not sure what free options are good, so ask around. My boyfriend was using File Expert, but it did not work very well, he finally bought Root Explorer, and he hasn't had a problem since.
Open the root explorer or file manager that you have, make sure you have R/W (read/write) privileges. Then look for the folder named system, in that folder you will find another folder named framework, inside that folder you will find a file named framework-res.apk , and another file named com.htc.resources.apk. When you see one of those files you long press on it, and a menu will pop up asking what you want to do with the file. You can choose copy, and then paste in on the root of your sd card, but I choose the option to send, and I send it to my dropbox. Then go to the system folder again, and look for a folder named app, inside that folder you will find SystemUI.apk , also copy that one to your sd card, or send it to your dropbox. Once you have those 3 files on your sd card, or in your dropbox, move them to your computer. Open the UOT Kitchen, make your modifications, then click on the tab that says file upload. On the right of the page there will be some options to "Select your rom from kitchen's list, or upload your own files" Choose upload system files. 4 boxes to upload files will pop up, only use the top 3. Click the select file button, and find the file that they are asking for by that button, then upload it. When all 3 files are uploaded, and you have made the modifications that you want then click the summary tab, it will have a summary of what you did, and a button at the bottom to submit your work. After you press it it will give you an order number, copy that down. Under your order number there will be a link to go to the pick up page, click it, and wait for your order to show up. Then download your order, and it will be a flashable zip, flash it and enjoy.

Well first you've to be rooted to do that. Then you must have some file explorer that allows you access to root(Root Explorer,ES File Explorer)
Then when you've copied the file in proper place (assuming you're using root explorer)touch and hold on that file name a menu will pop up.Select set permission from there and then set the permission to 644(rx-r--r--)
In short your permission window should look like this
**-
*--
*--
* denotes tick
- denotes untick..
Hope that gets it cleared for everyone!!!!

Clear some bloatware.but take a backup of what you delete first so that you can put them back if you want.
You can remove the apps from system/apps that you don't use.the most safe one's are facebook, google plus, talk, play music, play movies etc you get the jist.don't remove any app whose function you don't know.
You can use any method to do so however i personally recommend titanium backup to do so.I've installed many apps using it after taking backup.

Guys with help from 'Ani' here's how I solved it :
Install apk & then the earth lib file in sys/lib & set permission 644.
Heads up for users on JB 4.1.2!
If you're to install Google earth in 4.1 leak, please copy only the lib file libearthmobile.so, set permissions and install Googleearth.apk provided inside the zip. Google ears.apk contained in system/app dir inside the zip is for voice activated play store search and does not concern Google earth.
Presence of Google ears.apk breaks google talk and it FCs every time.

Thanks for the bug fixes but it looks like I was a little misunderstood with the first bug I posted. Install this version of Zipinstaller:
http://goo.im/devs/beerbong/apps/ZipInstaller/ZipInstaller-3.3.7.apk
It's an app that installs zips through recovery. When opened select the "Add zip/sh to list" option.
Select Simple Explorer if u have another file explorer installed. Then try to select a zip file. It doesn't send the file link to Zipinstaller. It works with OI File Manager from the play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.openintents.filemanager
Other apps that use this feature like Zipinstaller.
KeePassDroid
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.keepass
Keepass2Android
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=keepass2android.keepass2android
Cryptonite
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=csh.cryptonite
Also you should add an "About" opition where you have your "App Manager" & "Settings" options after pressing the 3 dot menu button. That when pressed it will show your name, version number, a link to this thread and a link to the source.
I wish i could code java now to help out more planning to learn it in the future.

http://goo.im/devs/beerbong/apps/ZipInstaller/ZipInstaller-3.3.7.apk
It's an app that installs zips through recovery. When opened select the "Add zip/sh to list" option.
Select Simple Explorer if u have another file explorer installed. Then try to select a zip file. It doesn't send the file link to Zipinstaller. It works with OI File Manager from the play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.openintents.filemanager
Other apps that use this feature like Zipinstaller.
KeePassDroid
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.keepass
Keepass2Android
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=keepass2android.keepass2android
Cryptonite
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=csh.cryptonite
Also you should add an "About" opition where you have your "App Manager" & "Settings" options after pressing the 3 dot menu button. That when pressed it will show your name, version number, a link to this thread and a link to the source.
I wish i could code java now to help out more planning to learn it in the future.

I think its not a bug because this feature is not implented but i will add it. Instead of an "About" option i added a link to this forum in preferences.
Thanks dude for this..
I was stuck with a ASOP rom with no file manager and as the touch screen has a large chunk not working I have wiped the internals of it and sending it off for repair. but as its a 3rd party repair shop here in China there is no way i was going to send it out with my Google account details in it..
So since yours is at the top of the list and is a direct download..
I thank you very much..

I did a reinstall & i still get the "Unfortunately, Simple Explorer has stopped." message. After that Simple Explorer just restarts. Also, I checked the "savedApps" directory and the apps that are saved do get deleted. Looks like this happens right after deleting.

Yeah, why not. You only need to open xml file and replace the english with spanish words and upload file. Then i will add it in next Version.

Just thought I'd share this because the inability to forward delete has been bugging me forever!
All credit go to @IPDunwell - thanks man!
You can easily remap the LOCK key to be your forward delete.
Obviously you need root for this and mount system as writable.
Go to /system/usr/keylayout/asusdec.kl
Make a backup copy, open it in a text editor and look for line 142
Replace "SLEEP" with "FORWARD_DEL"
Save the file, reboot
Hallelujah!

Shift + Backspace never worked for me... Not in Tapatalk, not in proOffice Suite, neither in the stock rowser I am using right now to write this...
That's why I was so thrilled to find this. :good:
Looking for assistance
I have copied and then modified the copied file and saved but when I try to replace the file in the keylayout folder ES Text Editor won't replace the file. I have also tried to edit the asusdec.kl file while still in the keylayout folder but ES Text Editor won't save it. Do I need to change the permissions of that folder? If so how?

You have to mount system as writeable so that you can make changes to system files.
To tell you the truth: I hate ES File Explorer. Never liked the UI and I wasted the last 20 minutes trying to figure out how you do it in ES, but it won't let me change permissions on files and folders although it has root rights. :banghead:
Download File Manager HD, go to settings, check: mount system folder. That's how easy it can be....
Just found it
[You have to long press Root explorer to get the option to mount system files as RW.
Thanks Ken

After editing the asusdec.kl file line 142 from SLEEP to FORWARD_DEL the lock key did not function at all. After changing back to SLEEP it acted like a lock key again. Am I using the correct syntax? Checked it with Polaris Office, stock and boat browser, thekey did not function at all.

Well, thanks for that! How intuitive.... My statement about ES still stands
Don't know what you did, it works fine for me. Just flashed CROMi-X 5.2.3 so I had to edit that file again, did it in ES and it works.
You replaced just the word SLEEP with FORWARD_DEL? Absolutely nothing else?
You saved the file and rebooted?
After editing and saving asusdec.kl the lock key no lnger functioned at all. I changed it bac to SLEEP and the key began acting as a lock key again. The syntax was FORWARD_DEL is this correct?

Forgot to add this to 5.2.3 someone remind for the next release.
I might make a flashable zip when I get home to make it easy to install as the lock key is all but useless.
just "DEL" not "FORWARD_DEL"
On my TF700T the suggested change to "asusdec.kl" as "FORWARD_DEL" did not work for me. But I am running 4.3.1, actually Pacman---a CM 10.2 -AOKP hybrid.
I used "DEL" on the key 142 as suggested elsewhere on this forum....seems to work like the backspace key...
still looking

I doubt pacman understands the keyboard for Asus properly. You'll have to look for which layout file it is using but you may be out of luck. On Asus 4.3 is is called asuspec.kl

Thanks for replying! I thought I was on to something until further research revealed AOSP does not have some missing "driver" files for the hardware kb. Therefore some of the Asus
keyboard dock keys (top row, WLAN, BT toggle, etc will not work).

After downloading the file, unzip it using a program such 7zip or Rar. Some file explorers like ES Explorer give you an option to long-press the file and choose the ''extract'' option.

No, you don't flash these. You copy them over to your system folder, after setting the appropriate write permissions via an app like ES Explorer.

You don't have to copy the files to your system folder in order for you to use the S5 ringtones, alarms, and notifications. Just like for any other ringtones or notification sound files, one can browse to those sound files from within an app (e.g. Phone App for CallerID).
But if you want to replace your existing S4 UI sounds, then you'll have to modify folder permissions.
Let's suppose you want to replace the startup sound, which is found at system -> media -> audio -> ui -> PowerOn.ogg.
If you try to copy over the S5 PowerOn.ogg file to directory, you'll get a failed operation. To copy over it, you first have to use a root file explorer like Root Browser.
From within Root Browser, you long-press the system folder & change permissions so that it reads as: 0777 (rwx rwx rwx).
Now copy over the S5 PowerOn.ogg file into the ui directory. The file operation will now succeed.
Now reboot your phone for the change to take effect.
At reboot, you'll now hear the Galaxy S5 startup sound.
Much tks for these op!! I just swapped all mine out with these via root explorer and set permissions, rebooted..Haven't decided yet if I'm gonna grab the S5, thinking I'm gonna wait and see what's up with the next Nexi. Love my S4 though!!

I debated too whether to upgrade to the S5 but I decided to pass. The only 2 things I like more about the S5 over my S4 are the ISOCELL camera and IP67 rating, which isn't enough for me to upgrade for. Even the Snapdragon 801 is too minor for me as I have the Snapdragon 800 via my Nexus 5 and Note 3.
I'm gonna wait for either the S5 "Prime" or Galaxy S6.
[Sorry For Bump!]
Thanks for the files but I think I just ruined my phone.
I replaced the Effect_tick.ogg and now the sound isn't playing. What should I do to restore the sound back other than factory reset?

Did you see if permissions are correct? rw-r-r and still no sound on reboot? You could always extract the rom you are on and push the Effect_tick.ogg make sure permissions are rw-r-r, reboot and should work normal again

Changing Permissions
When I long press on any of the folders/files it bring up a little check box on each file and the option to select each or all items. Along the bottom of the screen I then have: copy, cut, delete, rename and more... in the more menu I can look at properties and see if the file's Readable, Writable, or Hidden but I have no ability to change this or the permissions on any of the files. can someone tell me why I can't edit permissions?
I'm using ES File Explorer v. 3.2.1.2
