Hey there,
actually so am I, but WiFix manager is absolutely stable; But all you must not do is turning the phone off or reboot it while WiFi is on, that's all. now, tap a widget or something in order to disable WiFi, then remove and re-install WiFix, then after the reboot it should be okay, in case you prevent what I said.
If your issue did not get away through this method, keep in touch.
Good luck. :good:

Thank u very much because of ur post
I use the wifix that is in rom and install it with rom flash
As u say, I dont hav to use it
I have to flash the rom without wifix
after reboot and setying up rom, then install wifix
and if this problem appear again, do as you said...
am I right?

No wifi
Hi,
I just flashed my phone (HTC Z710a) with Elegencia sense 4.1 (28th JUL) version, and I cannot get the wifi to work. It works when I install WiFix, reboot and ON the Wifi toggle as mentioned in posts above. But even if I turn OFF Wifi toggle, reboot, and ON wifi again, it just stucks on connecting. When I scan, it shows my wifi router as 'not in range'. Is there any settings that I need to adjust for my region? I reside in the Oceania [Fiji Islands]. Any help will be dearly appreciated. I always have to turn OFF wifi, uninstall Wifix, reboot, install Wifix and enable wifi to get it to work. I have to change the Wifix country code to SG also to make it work. Anybody with an easier workaround? TIA.

Hi, i really don't know what you mean, not that tech savVy but what I did was checked all the requirements like S-off, hboot, 4ext recovery etc, and I installed from zip and just mostly picked the default values and some selected apps. just the boot image, i don't think so, does that have to be downloaded separately,
thanks

reboot the device to bootloader and connect it to pc(in the hboot screen it should say fastboot usb)
extract the boot.img from the rom.zip and place it in the folder where you have adb and fastboot files
in that folder open a cmd window and do this command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
check again wifi

hi, i did what you said, its still the same. I saw something like data sent and writing, then finished. When I checked, its still the same, says not in range. to be honest i did flash a few JB ROMs before and they had the same problem with Wifi, only ROM that works is Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_7.2, but it lags every now and then. I really like this Elegencia, anything else I can try..

Hi rzr86, sorry took long to respond but I flashed to the ViperS ROM and it seems to be going great. Only thing is that it can't switch from Wifi to Mobile Network by itself when I go out of Wifi range, I always have to turn off Wifi. Any quick fix for that for it to switch automatically? TIA:good:

[fixed] WiFi unable to connect after S-OFF on Sensation

Hi!
I just unlocked (S-OFF) and rooted my Sensation according to the tutorial pinned in the development section. Unfortunately, now I am unable to connect to any WiFi-networks. My phone is an unlocked, SIM-free european HTC Sensation.
Restoring the phone backup I created before rooting (with ClockworkMod Recovery) to the unrooted stock ROM didn't work, still no wireles lan.
Does anybody know how to resolve this issue? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: If you flashed an unsafe boot image, page two has the solution.
Maybe try to ask in the IRC channel from #revolutionary on irc.freenode.net (but please recheck this on their website ), joined there today because of a minor problem and they seem very helpful.

u installed boot.img from cwm? I`m figuring out how to restore the old one..
I did some further investigation, and possibly was to quick on the draw:
While trying to find a solution, I noticed that I was able to connect to some other networks without problems. So I tried changing channels & power-cycling my WiFi access point. Et voilà: Magically, my wireless lan-problems did disappear.
I guess the problem was with the router all along, no fault of unrevoked & AlphaRev which I both want to praise for their excellent work in unlocking this phone.
Next time, I'll try turning it off and on again, first
Glad you fixed it Mr Mango, can you change the Title of your Thread to Fixed then

Same here! Sensation with Vodaphone branded ROM, no wifi anymore. Says "Error" in wireless menu.
I'm not sure if this was caused by S-OFF itself or by the installation of the "Unsafe" boot image to get root in adb by default.
So far I haven't found a way to make the wifi work again!
I have the exact same "Error" problem with my T-mobile branded sensation

Ok, I think I really found the cause: it happens when I install the "Unsecured Boot.img - Europe" from there:

But here's good news: just install a RUU and the Wi-Fi problem will be gone!

UNSAFE boot image was the cause. so i scrapped it
AS Joel said, just reinstall stock rom. and its gone.
for more information visit the guide to S-off, bottom of post 1 will tell you how to debrand or reinstall
Yes, everything works fine now with the un-branded ROM.
So there's no way to get direct root adb access without breaking wi-fi functionality at the moment?

When users had the wifi break, the rooting file in step 3 was outdated. it was for froyo and eclair only. whcih is why users flashed unsecured boot.img causing the WIFI loss.
NOW!
Read the Guide. If you follow step 3. you WILL get root and YOU WILL NOT LOSE WIFI.
initially Step 3. had a su file called su-ef2.3.6.1.zip which didnt work causing people to use the unsecured boot from binary
but the new one is called su-efgh2.3.6.3zip which is working
the difference, the new supports Gingerbread and Honeycomb
i followed step 3 and hundreds of others have, we are all rooted on stock or custom roms without wifi problems!

Sorry, maybe I wasn't being totally clear.
Yes, I flashed ClockworkMod and then "su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip" and it works great. I'm rooted, no problem with that.
The only thing I'm missing here, is that when I connect with "adb shell" I get the "$" prompt (not root). So I need to type "su" first. Then I'm root.
With the "unsecured boot" I get connected as root right away with "adb shell", but then the Wi-Fi doesn't work.
Therefore I was wondering if some way exists, to enable direct root for "adb shell" without breaking the Wi-Fi.

Check your Build number under the software information in Settings.
it should start with 1.27.531.2 or 1.29.531.2
You can download the exact same one below according to your build number
RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.27.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_ 10.11.9007.15_M_release_192098_signed

http://www.filefactory.com/file/cb7a...714_signed.exe
Ahhh, does this mean we naughty WIFI guys can try to re-root now? I was one of the ones that had WIFI go crap out after the root, and I flashed back to a stock ROM for TMOUS. Does this mean I can try to root again and plan on it working this time?

[GUIDE] How to fix the «Wifi Error»

Greetings Everyone !
Flashing a ROM can bring you problems. One of these's problems is the «Wifi Error» or the «Data Error» where you can't enable wifi or access to Data because it's written Error or you don't have mobile data.
Major Problem 1 -> S-ON ROM flash without 4ext SmartFlash Enabled
People who are flashing ROM while being S-ON needs to enabled SmartFlash [GUIDE] Flashing roms with S-ON and 1.27+ HBOOT
You only need to do this ONCE, once you have flashed your first custom ROM and enabled permanent smartflash, you don't need to this any more!
Major Problem 2 ->RIL/Radio Match
RIL/Radio Match is not required if you want internet to work. When you have the «Wifi Error» the problem can be from an RIL/Radio bad match. You need to have the good RIL/Radiofor you. Here's a list of RIL/Radio A better match = Better result (wifi speed, etc.) You can use this app, GETRIL to find if your RIL/Radio match.
Major Problem 3 ->Kernel
T-Macgnolia said:
Let me explain the boot.img a little so you know why it is so important. The boot.img does just watt te name implies, it is what boots the Android ROM on your device. Now let me explain this a little further, the Android OS runs on top of eat is called a Lenox kernel. This means that your bootloader boots the Lenox kernel and the hardware of the device. The Lenox kernel then boots the Android OS. The kernel is also te connection between the hardware and the Android OS. So you see if the kernel is not compatible with the system that is on te system partition you will have troubles like WiFi not working or other I hardware reliant functions. So when you flash a new ROM and you are HTC Dev unlocked you will have to flash the boot.img for te ROM are you will more than likely have troubles.

How to Flash boot.img:
1. First flash/install the rom via recovery
2. Get the boot.img and flash it via fastboot

As long as you stay in HTC unlocked bootloader the above steps are necessary to flash the rom completely to prevent bootloops and wifi errors

If you are getting very poor or no WiFi signal, you might take the back case off, and check the little golden pins above the camera. They may have gotten bent.
realsis said:
The antennas are the copper colored prongs on the inside of the phone case, and the inside of the phone. You can google it to get a better picture . Some say to CAREFULLY and SLIGHTLY lift the antennas to help with better reception but they are very fragile and the last thing you want to do is break them off so if you decide to do this, just do it slightly and very softly. You don't want to move them too much. I tired this myself to see if it would help with better reception, but honestly didn't see much difference. But it's worth a try. Just be very careful. I do hope you get your Wi-Fi problem solved. What you can do is take the device to a local cell phone repair shop. Perhaps they can fix the problem. And usually the local shops are quite reasonable in price. This might be a better option for you. This way the shop can trouble shoot and fix the problem with your Wi-Fi. It's another option.. hope this is helpful. Best of luck.

Wifi not working/wifi error

hi i've had this problem for two days now. the wifi is just stuck on "turning on wifi" sometimes it says "wifi error".
i've flashed new roms, kernels, boot.imgs, clean the phone, etc.
im on viper s rom at the moment and im s-on
this problem has happened before but for some reason nothing i do now works.
funny thing is it happened whilst i was using the internet on jellybean 4.2.2 rom and for some reason it just wouldnt come back on

if you indeed changed anything from build.prop that affected mass storage connection
then just extract the build.prop file from the rom you are using and copy/paste it in you internal storage with any file manager

I found the problem!!!! It was the kernel! Sultan kernel disable the USB connect. After the flashing of another kernel the USB/mass storage turn on! So..... I must use another kernel, I 'm sad because the sultan is one of my favourite but.... OK!

To all: Make sure that you do a clean flash when coming to this Rom and to make sure you flash the boot.img that comes with it. You should show 172 apps on boot or so. If not, make sure to reflash. For theme stuff: If you guys have any requests, I'm open to adding in unique color choices!

Mine only updated 168 apps, now I have no google play svcs. Of course I did a back up before I flashed, I would like to try to reflash the rom or flash my back up, but I can not get back into TWRP recovery....help
And I do not see in power options anywhere to turn off quickboot

Restart your phone. As soon as the HTC Blue Logo disappears, hold volume-down and the power button at the same time and don't let go I Tim your phone reboots into hboot.
Another method is to hook your phone up to your computer that has adb. Open a command prompt in the folder you have adb and type: adb reboot recovery
That will send you into recovery.

holding power and down volume just passes over the screen where i can get to recovery and brings me to an option to do some kind of update.

Sounds like you have a update file on your external sdcard and the boot loader is reading it. If you try entering recovery this way, eject your sdcard until you get a chance to rename that file to something else then try this method again. Otherwise, use the adb method for going into recovery.

We have been sharing ideas and in chat for a couple months now I will certainly do the same for him once he releases his Rom.
Where can I get the LP Google play services apk so that I can push it to system apps and then flash the rom to test? Haven't seen anyone post it or where to get it.

com.google.android.gms folder located in the data/app folder within the rom zip.
Great job neo!
I know its only gonna get better with time....like scotch
Can't wait till official drops so the little things like WiFi disconnect can get straightened out
And some special tweaks!
Thanks again!

Another option would be to open a terminal emulator and enter "reboot recovery" right on the device.

I noticed that when device is inactive for a long period wifi disconnects and the only way to get it back is to restart. Can't give a exact amount of time, has happened overnight and when I wake I have to restart to get wifi back....it says wifi is on but just keeps scanning. I also just had WiFi completely Crap out for no reason, was not inactive.
Just one question, is smart lock? not in the ROM? The one where if you have Bluetooth device no need to unlock the password
WiFi issue as well on sense roms
I love this ROM its my favorite but I also have this WiFi bug where if I have the fphone
sitting screen off idle the WiFi disconnect and it no longer scans and
I have to toggle it off and on and it takes a really long time to toggle. anyone
else experiencing this or found a solution. I've only seen this on Roms with
sense integrated.

The problem is due to firmware not being up to date and is usually resolved by updating to the latest available firmware.
