Hi All,
I've searched for answers on this quite a bit and am finding thread's that are a little old or not relevent. So are there any 4.2.2 Roms that bluetooth controllers work on (for the TF101 ofcourse)? I'm mainly trying to use the wiimote but i do have another controller that doesnt work either.
I am going on a lovely long coach journey to the Netherlands in a few weeks and would like to crack our some emulators on the coach. I am actually considering downgrading to an earlier android version just for the trip.
So whats the deal, do they work, what roms do they work on? Does it take some hacking (if so got any links i can look at to get it done)?
Thanks
Google changed the Bluetooth stack in 4.2. Check this out.
People suggest keeping a nadroid backup of 4.1 and just use that when you need that... until there's a fix.

Does HDMI well, there is CWM and ROMS but the newer models have a different secure key so regular root methods may not work...but when you do get root, the custom roms fix all those bugs. And if not, request it!
As for eye candy, I love showing it off. The key is having it in the dock. Then undocking blows their mind. they go, woah!!! I need to get one! haha.
Havent tried hbo go, sorry.
I hear the last update enables netflix without root!
last long i suppose, no one knows since its been out for a few months. but you could RMA.
The PS3 controller works. Tried it. that was one of the first things I did. I hear they even have an app for the wireless, you dont need the usb cable plugged in to the dock. Wii works too. Not sure about xbox.
Love the tablet. best thing ive bought in a while. use it all the time. its an extension of my main gadgets. My desktop, tablet and phone have all the same stuff, all synced. And when i leave my desktop, my tablet has the things the desktop was doing (either by chrome to phone or remote desktop). The thing makes calls too. And google voice works, so text and voicemail. Overall, I see this as the future. Dock when you need to type fast/add precision. undock for portability/touchscreen. smoooooth. best of both worlds. remoting into windows works perfect, remote RDP supports right click. splashtop is better for streaming however, plays videos like a boss. everyone will get one of these eventually.
thanks for the insight. im definitely looking into this tab
1 have not tried hbo go
2 stock firmware has netflix support now, find the .apk installer in google and download then install
3 longevity, don't know to early to tell, it is not that old. but i would think so because it is a low price and has a unique dock.
4 havent tried this one but honeycomb should just recognize it. somewhere i saw an app to let you connect through bluetooth, but you needed root.
as far as rooting goes some b70 models all ones above were changed so you couldnt root them at the moment. the people who rooted it the first time are trying to get a working root for the newer models to. he may get them to be rootable again and asus may block it again. only time will tell.
some b70's becouse ming was rootable.
Very happy with this tab. I dwelled for hours on it - trying to chose between this and the acer iconia. Both have their merits but in the end decided its rather have this for the dock. At times a proper keyboard can be handy and the extra battery life is also nice. I don't envisage bring away from power more than a couple of hours but good to know I can go probably a few days without needing to look at a charger if I had to.

yeah i plan on getting it from amazon so im assuming I would get a newer model b70 or b80. hopefully these will be rootable in the near future....i have plans for this bad boy
Well, I'm not... Asus support sucks, mine has been broken since mid July and asus have failed to fix it twice now. Waste of money its spending all its time broken.

Just bought mine yesterday from a local best buy store and it happened to be a B60 model. So excited when I saw this. Used it all last night and really love the thing. Best buy I have made in a long time.
Hello,
My name is Tyler and I have just purchased a Mini Bluetooth Keyboard for my Droid Bionic. Since Android does not us HID, like iPhone, you need a driver to use the device. Well, I just got it today and after much research, the developer of the software/driver for the keyboard had voided their licensing agreement with the manufacturer of the keyboard. So, they basically told you you have to buy their app for $10 or so. How ridiculous right?
They cranked out a demo version of the app so you can... well do nothing really with the keyboard. Which is so stupid.
I spent 4 hours online searching for an .apk and finally found it. I know this is a huge issue and I was so frustrated with it I decided to share my find with everyone here. The file is attached to this thread so you can not go through what I have just done. Download the file and install it onto your device and start using your HID Bluetooth Keyboard today.
Much love folks!

Yeesh - been trying a couple weeks to get this little Freedom Slim keyboard to work - this apk solved it for me. Seriously, thanks man.
Thanks so much!!! I have a generic keyboard from Ebay and the driver that came with it did not work (required you to install an android app then failed to register). This did the trick and I an able to use it for the first time since I got it about six months ago!
Hi new to the forum.
I bought the Xcover 2 in order to get a smartphone capable of surviving in the construction site.
But I realised it could not hold too many apps.
It's screen is allready shattered but at least, thanks to xda, I rock rootetd it and I can now have some usefull apps with me at work.
This week I bought a brand new Leica Disto D510 laser distancemeter with bluetooth pairing to use on site with my ruged (!) smartphone but ... Oh Lord, it DOESN'T PAIR.
It uses Bluetooth Smart 4.0 which can only be used with Android 4.3 or higher!!!! BoloX. The Xcover 2 runs 4.1.2
So THE QUESTION:
1: Is there any way to go around this without upgrading? I don't want to push the poor device too far and since it was designed for 4.1.2 I would like ti leave it with that if possible.
2: If I have to upgrade.. how the heck do you do that? I ,ve spent more that three hours now trying to find the right ROM to flash and I can't!!!!
Thanks in advance to the lady or gentleman, kind enough to post an answer. He will save me the cost of a new phone.

i dont believe there is any direct way around the bt issue.
your phone shipped with 4.1.2, seems odd that it never got any updates. did you go into settings near the bottom or in about phone, and check for updates?
there is at least one 4.4 rom for your phone that i found with a quick search, so there must be root and custom recovery some where, but its difficult for me to give accurate advice on how to proceed for a device i have no experience with.
ill just throw a couple google search links down here for you to look through if there are no software updates when you check.
if you decide to go the custom route, the first thing you want to do after installing twrp, and before installing a custom rom, is make a backup and save a copy to your pc for safe keeping. some times on these less popular devices it is hard to impossible to find the factory software, so you need a backup of it if anything goes wrong, or you dont like the rom.

Hi everyone,
Im new here so sorry if these questions seem a bit dumb but Im at a loss right now.
So I ordered this Hyundai (presumably) DVR, its fine and dandy all together for €120 but now if I want to use another DVR app instead of the one that comes with the thing they all crash. So I did a little research into all the menus and seems there is no camera system even installed (no idea how the app that comes with the thing even works without it) so my question is, is there a way to install somekind of an generic driver for the camera or just add some files into the system?
There are quite a few MTK files in the apps tab so I'm guessing it has something relevant to this discussion.
I know DVRs are not really the kind of things this site deals with but since its Android powered it was the best bet to ask here, maybe someone could help me out a little.
Any help is really highly appriciated! :fingers-crossed:
I bought a new kenwood DDX9905S. Android auto works fine but not wireless. Does anyone know if it's software. Like can I use a custom ROM to get it going. I tried searching but only came up with a 6t thread and no real answer. It's not a huge deal but it would be nice to not have to plug my phone in on short drives. Thanks for any info you guys may have.
