Baseband? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Is it necessary to update the baseband to run the new 4.x.x roms? Or am I fine on 7/15/11 baseband?

if you are referring to what i think you are trying to, its not necessary per se, but its always recommended. download the app "GetRil" and run it for an easy fix.

You're fine on the 7/15/11 bb. You just may have to flash the baseband fix to make calls working if a rom was built for 2.3.4

Why flash jh6?

I'm curious why we flash jh6 before installing roms instead of jh7 being the most up to date eclair build?

Bc it works. You wouldn't buy a new car if yours worked just fine would you. Don't fix it unless its broken.

Software Question

So I have 2.2.1 and I was wondering is it possible just to update it to 2.3.2 without downloading a rom or rooting it? I like it the way it is. And is there also a way to recover the Inception file??

Need help with ROM

I have been trying to install a Infuse 4G rom on my Captivate. I use a captivate modem and kernel, everything boots fine but I have no wifi and I says that there is no sim, so no phone or 3g. Any help would be great.

what kernel and what modem did you use?
KK1 modem and samuri KK2 kernel

What rom? Because of the EXT4 conversion it might screw some things up....
I didn't convert to ext4 I stayed on rfs
I used the stock Infuse 4g kk1 leak and the modem and kernel were from the cappy

That may be the issue right there.....do you have a 4g sim? I don't think the modems are interchangeable like that.....but if anyone would know for sure it would be Entropy512.....you may be able to PM him or find him in the SGS2 sgh-i777 forum....but don't post this in development.

IDK why that combo wouldnt work, and did you disable before it started the conversion on boot, because it is enabled by default...
It never did a conversion on first boot, I will have to check my SD and see if I have a voodoo folder with disable laggix in it
EDIT : yup I have a voodoo folder with it disabled, so no ext4 conversion on boot.
@tylerdurdin Thanks, as I understand my modem must match my kernel or you have a no go.
Can you tell me if you find a solution?

Clean up tools are not good. If you can't wipe system/data factory reset in cwm you don't need to be flashing roms.

Well I did because in the op for cleanup batch he was having the same problem so I tried it didnt work and I know how to flash and wipe through cwm. I work in a place that does not allow radios and I love to have music when I work and the only way I can do that is Bluetooth.

Sorry to hear that out does not solve the issue for you. The reference link in the op includes the method with gb 2.3.3 just flip the recovery in the folder so you have cwm as the reference will push stock.
BTW if you don't need mute with bluetooth you should switch to anything over 2.3.3 as for some reason the disconnect problem gets resolved that way... I couldn't as I must have mute over bluetooth

What's your complete setup? Rom, kernel, Max/min CPU?
Go into manage apps, see what's going on in there, stop any large/unnecessary programs.

I was on 2.3.3 and July baseband when I first got this phone, lag and horrible battery. 2.3.4 on March baseband smoothed out a lot of those issues for me.
I pair March 2012 baseband with latest CM7, better performance than any LG stock, for me anyways.

so is 2.3.4 not offered by LG or something... I'm clicking update phone and it says 2.3.3 is up to date
