[ROOT][GUIDE] Root your LAVA IRIS 501 Jellybean 4.1.1 - Miscellaneous Android Development

By this time you may have been updated your LAVA Iris 501 to Jelly Bean 4.1.1
If not then you can read my post HERE and update your LAVA Iris 501 to Jellybean.
Now it is time to Root your mobile.
Earlier with ICS; Rooting was done with "Root with Restore by Bin4ry v15" but now with Jellybean, this process will not work.
Steps for Rooting:
Download and install MediaTek Driver
Download CWM Recovery from link given in my post
I am also giving link for Scatter File in-case you do not have Scatter File
Flash your phone with this CWM Recovery using SP Flash Tool (Process given below)
Process for Flashing CWM:
01. Make sure that mobile is Switch Off and not connected with PC
02. Create a separate folder in PC; for example "Recovery"
03. Copy Scatter File and CWM Recovery in this folder
04. Rename recovery_cwm_6.0.1.5_iris.img file to recovery.img
05. Start SP Flash Tools
06. Click on Scatter Loading button>Browse to "Recovery" Folder and select Scatter File
07. Now you will find that only Recovery file is checked in SP Tools
08. Click Download button
09. It will give you warning, "Not ALL images are correctly loaded, which may cause boot up issue! Do you still want to go on downloading anyway?"
10. Click on "Yes"
11. Remove mobile battery and re-insert after 3-4 seconds (Do-not Switch ON Mob)
12. Connect mobile to PC with USB Cable
13. Flashing will start and it will be done in few seconds
14. Disconnect USB cable and Power On Mobile.

Process is same but in case of lava iris 455, it has got Screen Size 4.5 Inches and Resolution is qHD, 540 x 960 Pixels. Hence CWM Recovery may not work properly with this device because here attached CWM Recovery is for Lava Iris 501 screen size. You may get white screen in recovery mode. Hence I will not suggest to install CWM Recovery given in my post in your device until you have official recovery with you or try to find out a compatible CWM Recovery for your device.

This method is only for LAVA Iris 501 Jellybean 4.1.1
If you have ICS in your phone then first you need to upgrade the firmware of your mobile to Jellybean.
Detail is given in my post HERE
I have also updated my post and now you can download driver from given link.
To install the driver, you need to right click on each inf files and select install.
Let me know if it works for you.

[Q] Rooting Karbonn A26 (4.1.1)

It is running stock Android 4.1.1 out of the box.
Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31 ends up with "mount: permission denied (are you root?)" in "Normal" mode. On going through it step by step, I found that this error occurs on the line where the "/system" partition is being remounted as RW.
Found "Poot" somewhere on the internet, tried and ended up with "Error Code 18: su binary was not written". I think it doesn't work with Jelly Bean anyways...
Tried "Motochopper" too, the phone restarts during "/data/local/tmp/pwn" execution...
Tried searching here and there but no success.
Any suggestions?

Mediatek VCOM Drivers Check out here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206421
Important Note: Your phone should be OFF before connecting it to the computer, after pressing Download button in SP Flashtool. OFF means pull out battery and put it in again. This ensures the phone is OFF. If switched OFF phone is connected for charging/usb the phone turns ON; phone is not fully OFF even if nothing is shown on screen. So pull out battery. ONLY If you connect the OFF phone to computer you will be able to detect the device and install Mediatek Vcom drivers as well as use flashtool.

Hi, If you lose your stock recovery & boot img don't worry.. i have both imgs in my cloud storage dropbox account download zip file:

How to flash stock recovery for Micromax A69 Bolt:
Follow Step by Step:
- Download zip file
- Download "Flashify" app by Google Play or Google it.
- Now extract zip file and install "Flashify"
- Open Flashify and root permission it.
- Now Select Flash Tab to Recovery image
- Click Chose Path Find it "Recovery.img" where you extracted
- Final step: hit flash button!
Now it will be rebooting to stock recovery!! if it show stock recovery then that mean you have successfully flash stock recovery..
