Hey looking around and cant seem to find any topic on cyanogen for atrix 2. Does anyone have any idea if there are plans to soon release a beta build for it.

Most likely not until we get the bootloader unlocked. Until the bootloader is unlocked, not much in the way of ROMs will happen for the Atrix 2. Until then there are several of us working to get the Bootloader unlocked, you can join in and help, if you would like.

as soon as we can get a working sbf, recovery and roms will follow, even with a locked bootloader.
however, porting a cm7 rom will be difficult since the atrix 2 uses proprietary drivers and modules for some of the hardware (camera for example).

Well, I just spent 6 hours trying to root my .629 droid global 2, I did it. I was wondering where can I get a list of kernels I can use with stock 2.3.4? OR can I even do this? Sorry I spent hours looking online for kernels and I couldn't find anything. I did own a optimus 1 and have some experience with this stuff but is it much different than going into recovery and flashing the kernel?
In fact if someone would be nice enough to convince me to get a rom, this would be much easier. but after looking into it, it seems ridiculously hard to put a rom on these things unless someone can tell me different? I'm looking for something like CM 7 because that was what I was used to on my LG O1. Unless the stock rom on this right now would get me better battery than the CM 7? Thank you in advance.

The bootloader is locked and encrypted.
You cannot install a custom kernel.
There are custom ROMs though and they don't really need a lot of work to install.

isnt the bootloader bypassed by boostrapper/rom manager?
I was just about to install CM7 after reading your post and another member was saying it won't work because I'm on GSM and I need to flash to froyo and then to cm7?

Hi all. I don't want to come off as a total noob, but I'm sorry if I do. I have a Motorola Razr V XT885 with Bell Mobility in Canada. I've searched the web for a way of rooting and unlocking the bootloader on my device and have found little to no help. I know this isn't a popular phone as it's only available in Canada and some parts of Asia, but is there a way to root and unlock the bootloader? From the sounds of things there isn't a Jellybean update coming any time soon and I would really like to flash a custom rom on this thing. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I figured out how to get custom recovery, you download Boot Menu Manager from the market it works perfect, I managed to boot up a XT910 ROM on it but lots of bugs as its not for our phone, just need a smart person to make us up a ROM

there is a "[PROJECT]Bootloader Unlock" in "Atrix 2 Android Development" its was released on 2nd nov 2011 means at that time atrix 2 was on
gingerbread ,as i have updated it to ics it am not sure about "[PROJECT]Bootloader Unlock"
second reason for not been sure about "[PROJECT]Bootloader Unlock" is , when this unlocker was released there was atrix 2with at&t and in india its is releaded without at&t.so i m confused whether it will work or not

There's no bootloader unlock for no one.
Why do you want to unlock your bootloader if there's no room that requires other kernel?
^+1. And there is no need for the bootloader to be unlocked to flash the roms in our dev section.! Just follow the instructions there!

First, forget about unlocking the bootloader. We don't need to unlock it to install the roms that we have in the developers sections.
Secondly, we have stable ics, and now, finally, we have a stable Jellybean for international phones.
But, i'm going to respond your questions in order.
1: The info that are you reading, is ooooold. If you want stable ICS, check this:

Those are for international Atrix 2. It means, that ones they were not bought in AT&T.

^^+1 what he said, but I would like to add, do yourself a huge favor and read EVERYTHING that pertains to your phones model BEFORE trying anything. Then read it all again. Then when you think you understand, read it again. You will see that most all of your questions have been previously answered, and you will gain knowledge in the process. There is no bootloader unlock for this phone that's why you can't find it. All the information you need to get started flashing is in the development section. Most, if not all, ROMs have detailed instructions in the op of each thread. Basically you need root, a recovery app called Boot Menu Manager (or BMM for short) that is more like a boot hijack, the ROM zip you want to flash and some info on flashing an FXZ in case you get into trouble. Be sure to read the thread detailing how to use BMM successfully and follow the directions in the ROM thread as to which system(s) the ROM can be flashed on (you can multiboot up to 5 different ROMs with BMM). Be safe through reading/researching, have fun, and welcome to the community! :thumbup:

No.. We cant unlock bootloader.. Thats how we roll..XD.. But I think its a general.. Atrix 2 stuck with locked bootloader.. in development section.. Theres too many thread on custom Rom and how to install it.. Good luck..
