[Q] ROMs with or without Wifi Toggle problem - HTC Pico (Explorer)

Hi,
I thought that making a thread with a full list of Roms with the problem of Wifi Toggle Freezing or not would be useful.
I found it in:
CM10 with kernel 3
CM9 with kernel 3
MiniCM9 with kernel 3 (ImmortalYash says it's fixed in b4 but in my Pico was still present, obviously fixed with Garud 2.6 but then u loose Hotspot e USB Mass Storage... ANYWAY A BIG THANKS TO IMMORTAL FOR HIS AWESOME WORK AND ALL OF HIS EFFORTS )
MiniCM10 with kernel 3 (not sure, need ur confirms)
AOKP (present in the versions I tested, need confirms)
Not present in:
Stock ( ) and derivated (Jaggy, Xenon, Ateeq, NextGen, etc)
Evervolv ICS (not sure though!)
Evervolv JB (same as above)
CM9 with Kernel 2.6 (builds from 1 to 12?)
Don't know at all:
Jelly Bean Mini Project (never used that)
I hope this thread is useful to everyone and isn't going to go against any rules!
I hope to have raised a common question!
Namasté

the problem is not present in cm10b6 with garuda kernel
there is fix available for usb problem in garuda kernel
please change the title of this thread. [Q] says you are asking some question. since you are not , i would suggest you remove [Q] and make it list

Any Rom with kernel 2.6 as base doesn't have the problem..as you said, those with kernel 3 yash has claimed to have fixed the problem.

Cm10 compatible kernels

I'm running cm10 4.1.1
Just wondering what kernels are compatible with cm10. I have used the app sgs flasher to flash a kernel in the past. Would this work now? And I'm looking for a kernel that would improve battery.
Here's my exact info:

About a month ago. I was able to use sgs-kf in gb to flash a cm9/cm10 kernel while in GB. I think it failed in cm9/cm10 when I tried to flash a gb kernel.
idk if the author has updated the app or not.
You can flash up, but not down.
For the most part, Scott and jt has been the only ones working on cm10 - jt's cm10 kernel in buried in the thread somewhere a few months back. I made a shell to flash a cm10 kernel in there too, a few posts after jt dropped his kernel. I packed that kernel into a cwm flashable shell for cwm 5.x and 6.x.
You can use that shell to flash your cm10 kernels. CM10 flavors will be Scott's work or Jt's work.
i dont think you can flash an mtd cm10 kernel, i dont really know how the mtd conversion scripts work and sgskf says unsuported kernel type or something. non mtd, early cm10 or current cm9 should be aboe to use it but like qkster said might not downgrade....
but about kernel selection use whats in the rom thread. in general different aosp kenrels can be somewhat compatible but there is soo much going on with aosp development and things are constantly changing with feature support and drivers (i think the wifi drivers are mostly being used from the galaxy tab or something).. and partitions that most kernel only partially work with other roms, so stick to matching the kernel to the rom by developer and release date.

[DEV][PORT][B2G][REQUEST] Idea for porting B2G to i9001

I want to port Firefox OS to our i9001 and I want to try a different approach this time:
I Instead of compiling a working build, I will try to take a Firefox OS rom and I will port it. After taking a few roms apart, it appears to me that a B2G rom doesnt contain many things different from android. I found a S2 rom that is like a modified version of CM.
But I dont have got that much time atm, so you will have to be patient
If anybody is interested in helping me, I would be very happy
Hints:
- B2G is based on AOSP, not on CM
- Use CM9 (arco) as base (it's the most stable ICS rom available imo)
- Use the CM9 stock kernel along with some files of this ramdisk (of course you will have to modify it): https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/initramfs-galaxy-s2-ics
- Use CM9 as many /bin and /lib files of CM9 as possible, the ones generated for the S2 are incompatible.
- If it doesn't boot try using the libandroid_runtime.so file from B2G
- Use DDMS or Android Monitor to explore the errors
Good Luck! It's not an easy job ^^
You can read this thread, maybe help you

[DISCONTINUED][ROM][14 Feb 2013]A13 Emgeton Consul3 JellyBean V1 [4.1.1]

Hi all,
This is my first attempt at cooking a ROM.
This is for the Emgeton Consul 3 and works perfectly except for autorotate, which I can live with.
It performs much better than the 4.0.4 OEM firmware offerings.

Installation:
This ROM zip does not wipe SDCARD or EXTSD but does wipe the DATA partition.
Flash the img file in the archive below with LiveSuit.
LiveSuit Image
Then
(use the otg cable and a mouse because touch won't work)
Flash the CWM recovery that works for you
I use the one below.
CWM_6.0.1.2_recovery.img (32.0 MB)
https://mega.co.nz/#!9toXRLDT!MbdEFgOArTz_xbA55dMIGhZIvEM-nuzBhllogs9hm-o
The back button in this CWM does not function so you need to do a hard reset with long-press of power button to go out.
Flash this zip:
Consul3_JellyBean-v1.zip (236.1 MB)
https://mega.co.nz/#!Y1hhgYia!XQGYImd8yDoQ4ObPFGZHRwRQgxRGxtRCdizYxVfCLj4
or V2(cant remember the changes )
https://mega.co.nz/#!BtZwgQrJ!SvEdcy02h9HleUEeSL5nTROfCuw8mgSl_xEX3z_dP8s
A rotation app is included. I highly recommend installing Nova Launcher.
This ROM emulates the Nexus 7 by prop file hacks.
Based on a ROM from memup.com and customized to work with the Emgeton.
Includes GAPPS.
If anyone is able to assist in getting auto-rotate working, please contact me.
Does it support bluetooth dongle bcm203x?
Is it stock kernel 3.0.8+?
If it is not - i would try it!
edit: bcm2035 - chip from broadcom. I could not find bcm203x.ko inside ROM.
Hi I don't know if it supports that device. It's using the kernel that came with the memup ROM.
Oops I forgot to include the bootloader binaries so the Camera won't work with V1. Will upload V2 shortly which will also keep the contents of DATA partition.
I have one question. How to flash CWM recovery thanks

the aokp hasnt been tested yet, it could be a problem w/the website, androidfilehost is known to have issues where it'll say something like, "file does not exist"
Good Evening, this is Jared631 (Also known as RainbowDashDC).
As you might know, I'm the developer of the LG Vortex Utility (http://androidforums.com/vortex-all...ot-recov-lg-vortex-utility-linux-windows.html).
Anyways, I'm asking your permission to use this ROM and intergrate it into the LG Vortex ROM menu. It'd be a great addition.

ok. first load took long time... to be expected though. Tested and few issues, only phone based though. if you could provide a different GApps zip link, i think it would be perfect.
