hello guyz how if we make a poll to look at how many peoples are using which rom.this will help noobs to select the rom please share your reviews also.remember this poll is just for custom non stock based roms.thanks

Lol useless thread p51xx user can not poll, slim and df are not released for them. And why no custom ROMs based on stock?

I'm using carbon ROM and I love it.

I am using Stock, because there is no custom rom for the GT2 from AT&T. (i497)

Jelly bam... Has the features i liked from PAC ROM, but is more stable at the moment. Uhm... Full screen, custom colors in pie, without the need for lmt, fast, and everything i need to work, works.
Edit: or at least the last time i checked, issues in PAC ROM may have been ironed out, for all i know.

[Q] no official ROM, but 4.2 source code heaps to AOSP, any impact on CM ROM build?

as question, I don't know much about how CM or other customized ROM is built. Appreciate if anyone can answer my question.
What do you mean?

According to CM G+, 4.2 will be called 10.1 not 11 since it was still JB. And there is a lot of device which didn't get official JB yet but running on CM10.

Best ROM ICS vs GB

So I just got my Desire S and rooted/unlocked the bootloader ready for custom ROMs. But I can't decide which ROM to use and even if GB or ICS to use for best perfomance/battery life. I'm currently running CoolDroid v9.0 but there must be better. I know this post is stupid but just wanted your overall opinion,
Thanks in advance
Im using GB MIUI and i love it. Give it a try.

Errr, there are too many topics about this already. And there are just too many oppinions. There are many in both general section and q&a.
Also too many ppl cluttering up dev section with their opinion(s). I dont mind if it is bug report or something they discover and wanted to share, but posting comments about lag/speed/battery, which can be fix/improved if they just know how to "use" their phone properly, are just plain useless. And comments like, 'chging to rom b cause this rom is so and so.........' makes me think u should do that on ur own blog for your own readers.
And how hard is it to flash ur phone, are u gonna stop flashing after we recommend u ONE rom?
Go flash, leave it for a day or so, then make a backup and then flash again, keep doing until u find your chosen rom.
Try Viper ROM 1.1. Its awesome. Or go for Sabsa Prime 12
Or if you want, Jelly Bean AOSP based, U can definitely try Paranoid Android.

I am running JellyBam 4.1.0 right now. But while I am typing this I am downloading JellyBam 5.1.0 based on JellyBean 4.2.1 I've also tried Omega ROM, RootBox ROM but none of them are close to JellyBam. I think JellyBam is the best ROM for Samsung Galaxy SII GT-i9100.
My wife has the s2 I'm trying to get her to let me root and ROM it I was looking at jellybam actually great ROM.

Isn't this kind of redundant in the General forum where there isn't any one device? Especially seeing as you're talking about specific ROMs rather than bases (i.e. not something like AOSP, MIUI, TouchWiz, Sense etc.). If I said I was using NexusHD2 JB would that really mean anything or make a difference to your choice?

Your an idiot. I was trying to get a poll or collection of pros and coins about your rom . nothing said here is for me to decide the ROM I want. I chooses based of my own parameters not people decisions. Just thought I could get a page about everyone's ROMs and why they chose it. You don't have to be a douche about it.

I'm running Darthstalker v#8 as well what a super awesome rom super smooth and stable no glitches and good battery life I highly recommend it. I also have the Avatar rom and PacMan as backups that I switch up once in a while.

Problems with custom kernels

Hi guys. Have problems with custom kernels like Bubba v3. Also tried to flash the Komodo kernel but after flashing and wiping I get bootloops or very unstable running system with many soft boots and bugs. Also with thicklizards kernel stabilizer no effort...

ok
If you want my advice.............
Try the """"" ViperOneS 2.1.0 """"""" custom rom
It is a HTC sense based rom, Stable and amazing ................Also hardly you can find any problem because it is a modified stock rom.
Non sense rom usually have alot of mistakes & bugs, so try this rom and I'm sure you will be satisfied
You forgot to mention the lack of features in roms based on stock... Theres only so much they can do atm...
AW: Problems with custom kernels
Sir, I asked for solving my issues with Bubba kernel not for an advertisement for sense customs...

[i9505] What would be the perfect ROM for you

We have TW ROMS and Google edition ROMS.
For me, the perfect ROM would be a GE base integrating some cool features from the Stock samsung ROM like Air Gesture, Smart stay/scroll, Air view.
What would be the perfect ROM for you? a samsung stock or GE? Which feature from each one would you pick?
A more stable aosp rom. I'm biding my time with TW.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
tw stock rom with stock kernel without any bloatware/samsung apps.
so i still got tw features/gestures but also alot of free ram and a very good performance.
for me there is no need for anything else.
plus i don't have to wait for any custom rom which is buggy or drains battery like hell.
on my s2 aokp was the best for me... but cm kernel on s4 just drains battery way too fast.
Google edition rom with:
- samsung camera
- notification toggles
- when you get a text message you can call the person by putting your phone to your ear

Pure Google edition with Samsung camera...
A CM 10.1 based ROM with Smart and Air gestures from Samsung.
A good ROM should be the google edition rom 4.3 with the Samsung apps, but not the TW. Only with Samsung camera App, air gestures and Smart stay.

Why would you prefer stock over GE. although it's known to be snappier than Samsung stock Roms.

half the ROMs here are built by chefs that don't actually own the device. Sure that doesn't necessarily mean that the ROM will be of a lower quality, but it can't be as good as a ROM for a phone that they actually own and use. Also motivation and innovation would suffer a bit here I think - just look at Wanam; he won't innovate on his Adam kernel for the i9505, and has low motivation on his Wanamlite ROM for the i9505, and who can blame him? developing for a device you don't own would be a long drawn out process.
I'm not looking for something basically impossible like "samsung HW features on a AOKP ROM", let's be realistic.
What I want is a ROM by a chef that owns the device and uses it daily, who isn't afraid to mod files and frameworks to get things working, is TW (why buy a phone where you can't use any of the features that set it apart), but with a nice Aroma installer that guides you through a process where you can make it as heavy or light as you want, has low battery drain when "lightened" (ie if you leave it bloated and have high battery drain, what do you expect?). I also want certain features "fixed" by default. If i wanted a pure stock looking and functioning ROM, i would flash a stock ROM. This would include:
I think a subtle battery % mod is required, possibly a theme, but it must be SUBTLE, i don't want glass reflections or garish colours.
I want multi-CSC,
TW launcher should be unlocked (not that I use it, but ROMs that lock the dock are stupid)
Join unlimited contacts
5 way reboot menu
standard SMS/MMS changes (unlimited contacts, no MMS convert)
multi-window manager.. etc.. most ROMs have this stuff I think
Also I don't want a chef that brings out a new version for EVERY firmware that is leaked. Some firmwares bring nothing, or worse performance/features/battery. I want a chef that tests out new firmwares and makes an educated guess based on their experience and what others say on whether they release a new version.
OK that's all, it's a lot to ask I know and probably require someone on it full time, but if you're interested the closest I have gotten to a chef like this is Ripper ROM for the i9305.

Meaning you can also add mods, aka adding more features

Still, nothing beats an AOSP rom. Like CM.
Btw, you don't need root to flash mods. Just a custom recovery.
The perfect rom should be battery-friendly.
