Plus Version of the EH17 Kernel, rooted, bootanimations, and with my kernel, memory, and VM tweaks... also ext4 capable.
Also it has CWM Purple built-in so its ACS Updater Compatible, as well QuickBoot and ROM Manager..
creates a symlink from bootanimation.zip to sanim.zip, so no need to rename boot animations.
Updated 9/6/11***
Added a few new tweaks...
Fixed bootanimation symlink..
changed the script to not overwrite SU/Superuser.apk or Busybox in case you want to upgrade
Fixed the reboot recovery problem..
let me know what yall think..
thanks to qbking for testing

im wondering these questions too
yes init.d support.. its the same as eg22plus and eh06plus just updated with the new kernel...
you can convert to ext4 with rfs2etx4.zip or on a new install just format the partitions as ext4
and go ahead bake it into your ROMs
If its ok, id like to use this in the next version of starskyROM

rfs2etx4.zip bricked my phone... Backup even failed on me... Any chance i can use this in my ROM?
Edit... it's telling me i'm low on storage. ouch... Maybe it's my ROM, but i haven't changed that much.
Edit... Just reinstalled my ROM, and i lost root somehow? Will report back on this one...
ohh btw i couldnt get bootanimation.zip to work. i had to rename it to sanim.zip still

If it bricked your phone, you wouldn't have been able to flash anything else on out.

thanks for the clarification... I've apparently never had a bricked phone then.
Reboot lead to a stuck boot ani, and did so for more than 15 minutes... twice, so i booted back into CWM, and ended up installing my ROM... The second time it worked... Not sure what happened.
Has anyone been successful at converting to ext4???? I tried it with eh06 and soft bricked twice...before I Odin eh17 I wanna know if anyone has got it up and running....I really don't wanna lose my setup........again

Can someone pm me and give me instructions as to how I can put the stock boot and shutdown animations back in? I actually have grown to love them and I miss them already (I have only rebooted the one time after I flashed the kernel...).
Thanks for the quick and excellent work as always.

This is probably one of those "noobie' questions but if I understand this correctly, I can wipe data/cache/delvic cache 3 times - flash the rfs2xt4 zip - flash the eh17 kernel - then flash the hurricane rom - all in CWM - is that correct?
Question - assuming that is correct - can I restore data only from a previous nandroid backup which was made from the Hurricane rom before I flashed the rfs2xt4 zip to avoid doing new installs for everything? or does that void the conversion to EXT4? or I could just wait until it has been baked into the Rom - but then the same question remains? Can I run a Nandroid restore of data only after I have converted to ext4 ?

Hi All,
just got a second line for work and i bought a g2x. got it rooted but haven't flashed a recovery yet.
is it true i can't just flash it via clockmod? on cyanogenmod's website it specifically says its the way to flash recovery but ive noticed in a few posts here that it will not flash recovery. i can really use some lights on this guys.
Thanks in advance.

To flash recovery the correct way, head on over to here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
If by clock mod you mean ROM manager, you can. But you will get your phone bricked if something goes south.
This phone is unbrickable, almost. Nvflash cwm on it and flash roms via it.
Search is your diaper friend.

So yes, and no...but yes. Confused yet?
You CAN use Rom Manager to flash a recovery and do backups / flash roms. The only issue comes up when you bork something up, and by you I mean rom manager of course, and you get a boot loop and have to pull the battery to get into recovery....you can't. It's got to do with the partitions RM uses I think. If you read enough you'll see that RM "fake flashes" CWM to your phone and you can't access it if it gets borked. Soooo you use Nvidia's NVFlash utility to flash CWM to your phones recovery partition. Then you're good to go. If you dig up the old CM7 thread, Cyanogen basically said that NVFlash replaces Fastboot for the G2x, but he uses RM from then on out.
Sooo use TGA_Gunnman's tool linked in the post above to install CWM the first time, then use RM is you so choose too. FWIW I've never used RM.
!
Thank you! got it now
i've been reading and trying the ICS roms, none seem to be as stable as a gingerbread rom.
what are you guys using?

I don't understand why people tell you to use ROM manager.
Only use nvflash to flash clockwork, and ONLY use ROM manager to rename your backups and to boot into recovery. Never use ROM manager to flash ANYTHING.
ICS ROMs are all pretty much betas for this phone. If you want stable stay with stock or cm7.

You can install the slimdroid port using CWM if you want to install the full version from Lenovo you will need to make sure you have the stock recovery installed. It is tricky but it works. Do a quick search and make sure you understand how the bootable sdcards work. The A1 is almost unbrickable but it can get scary at times as long as you have a boot sdcard you will be fine.
I have been running it for a couple of days it works well the battery drains a bit faster but much better than stock. CM7 is very nice too you can't go wrong with either one.

Well, I flash someone's rom with cwm and its very unstable it doesn't have wifi , gapps, and usb mass storage but it has usb debugging, I was thinking to change the files of the recovery to cwm using adb and do a fresh install of gb, is that ok?
The first thing you are going to want to do if you want to go back to stock and that is probably best and then go from there is download the following.
http://download.lenovo.com/slates/a1/OTA/A107W0_A234_001_015_2643_US.zip
http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~grm08/ideapad/cyanogenmod/stock-a1-ramdisk-2643.zip
http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~grm08/ideapad/cwm-5.0.2.7-rev3-ideapad-a1.zip
If you have a 16gb device grab
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23471133&postcount=409
First flash CWM 5.0.2.7 (you can use the newer one later if you want to but use this one for this)
Then if you have the 16GB model flash stock-mbr.zip and reboot into CWM. (if you have a 2GB device this will hose it the device don't do it)
Then flash the ram disk followed by the 2643 OTA.
If you have an issue installing CWM grab a bootable sdcard there are instructions in the ICS threads and use that to flash CWM.
The A1 is almost unbrickable unless you have a hardware problem you should be able to get it working again.
I inatall the alimdroid but the space for install apps is very reduce and the apps can't move tp th sd card is there any form to change that?

Just trying to be helpful here, here is a faster way to get from stock one-click to JB goodness.....
After you flash to stock with antonx kernel reboot into recovery and flash bhundvens blastoff kernel, reboot recovery, now you should be in blue 5.0.2.8....flash the newest cm9, it will reboot automatically into recovery for you to flash a second time, but don't, instead flash a JB Rom, (I flashed chaos from dao) once it rebooted into recovery...jellybean recovery, I flashed the Rom plus gapps. Rom booted just fine.
So.....save a little time from completely flashing the whole rom, waiting for it to boot and rebooting into recovery just to do it again till you get where you want.....cheers
hopefully it saves you some time
************************just like everyone else says "I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE"*****************
just one-click back and start over hee hee!!!!
If you're saying flashing a kernel with CWM 5.x and then flashing a JB ROM is faster, we all know that already.
You are not flashing the kernel first technically. What you are doing is converting the file system.
However I thought all the JB roms had the mtd conversion script included. If they dont I would ask the person that ported them to update it with that script. There should never be a reason to flash to ics then jb.

It was said to flash cm 9 or be on

Okay so I bought a Blaze a few days ago and I was messing around with it and I rooted it. When I rooted it I flashed a ROM and when the ROM booted up and got to the welcome screen it instantly turned rebooted itself, so I let it boot up again but it constantly reboots. Then I went back to a backup of the stock ROM and it still does the same thing. So I followed a guide that updated me to the ICS update in hopes of it fixing it but it still does the same thing! Now I don't know what to do with it. I was hoping maybe someone can help or if this has happened to anyone? Thanks in advance

Yes, the miui we have has a link to racing's blue lightning. I would try miui or another ROM again, but make sure to format /system along with wiping data, cache, and davlik. Or use black hole wipe. If you don't have anything important on the internal SD (or back it up) it might be worth it to format the emmc also.
