just got my W8 phone few days ago.
works fine, but just tried to play Temple Run game... and it is laggy.
after swiping my finger on the screen it takes around 1 second until it jumping ...
I tried to install other temple run games and still no improvement..
What can I do?
I also noticed that when I press the Power button to unlock the phone from sleeping it takes 1-2 seconds until screen turns on.
Got root with 2.5 TWRP recovery.
Also checked that no other apps are running in background
Any suggestions?
How can I decrease response time for buttons and touchscreen?

Hello,
I have a Motorola Defy. Games work really well on it, but a couple of days ago I have encountered a problem: while playing games that have virtual buttons on screen, after a while the buttons just stop working, then if I pause and start the game again, it works again.
Let me give a concrete example: while playing a racing game you have to hold the acceleration button pressed all the time. I do this, but after some time that button stops working well. I keep it pressed, but the game recognises the press only for a second, then stops again. I press it again, it recognises the press for a second again, then stops, and so on. This happens to all of the buttons on the screen. If I go to the game menu, then enter again in the game, everithing works fine again, until this thing happens again.
It is really anoying, as I don't think there is something wrong with the touchscreen. Everywhere else, the touchscreen works fine.
Anyone knows what the problem might be?
My TF has done this three times now since yesterday's FOTA. The device hasn't crashed as I can still use ADB and the notification bar relects the true battery status, time etc. I can also turn the screen on and off with the power button but I can't unlock it due to the screen not accepting touch input.
This happens regardless if use a custom rom or not.
Has anyone else had this experience?

My device had this issue, but with the 3/25(?) firmware (it came from overseas -- Taiwan). I basically thought I had a brick, but yesterday I used not-quite-pristine US system.img via a nandroid backup, and it brought it back to life. Still working, 18 hours later (and with the latest OTA update).
If you still have cwm / nandroid access, PM me and I'll post up the system.img that I used to fix my issue, yesterday. It was basically an image I found on Android Central, and I yaff2'd it and added my own md5sum so that nandroid could recognize it. My ongoing concern is that the permissions could be all screwy and softlinks could be broken. But, given the choice of that versus a bricked tablet, I could live with broken softlinks.

Same here. Touchscreen stopped responding while playing that game, but that happened even before the OTA.
How can you get it to start responding again or force a reboot? I just got mine in the mail, pushed the lock button, and now it won't respond to any of my touches. Stuck at the lock screen.

Hold the power button for 10-12 seconds to force power it off. Release button. Wait a couple seconds. Power on as normal (a 5-6 second hold down of the power button). If still no joy... you're screwed perhaps.
ok thanks a lot holding the power button down for a long time did force it to turn off, now it's working again.
After lock the screen of my o3d and wake it up, the touch panel is very unstable. By using some multi-touch testing app, it can found that the touch panel can only recognize one finger accurately. It there anyone know how to fix this bug????
i did not notice this problem. Try wipe. What firmware you use??
Try to install Android system info. Tap on menu, and touchscreen test. There should be ok.
For me in some testing apps from market, there where some anomalies. Eg. Taping both fingers very fast, and then it recognized only one touch etc.
Seems to happen to me as well on stock 10J Optus Australia firmware. The touch screen seems to be able to detect >10 fingers (Most other smartphones are 3-5) but when more than one is used, the touch points seem to jump to the other finger (For example, in fruit ninja, when two fingers slide vertically quickly, sometimes a random horizontal cut occurs).
Its pretty annoying in games - Especially when trying to shoot and aim in Modern Combat 2, I keep doing 180 degree turns randomly.

Yes I have the same problem in games, sudden180 degree spins in backstab, shadowgun ...
I'm on stock GB.
happens almost everytime screen locks when a game is running. try playing minisquadron and let the screen lock. when you wake phone up only one touch will be recognised at a time for an interval ranging from a few seconds till you shut down the game and restart it or even sometimes restart your phone. had it since v10a all the way to v20a and believe my i tried them all. even on custom roms....

I thought I was just crazy when this happened.
The 3-tap fix doesn't seem to completely fix it but it helps without having to restart the game.
I cannot hold the screen for more than 3-5 seconds.
Tested a couple of times, and even after multiple restarts. Previously a restart used to fix it, but now it isn't.

I tested everything that u said. I never experienced anything that u said. Whats ur kernel, governer configuration???
Same problem with my gf Galaxy A5
We can't hold more than 3.5s on the screen, making voicemessaging impossible on whatsapp, did you have a solution ?
Same thing on Facebook Messenger...

Hello guys!
I've a funny problem with my tablet that is a Mediacom Smartpad 722i based on AML8726-M3.
When it is doing nothing, sometimes when i wakeup it, it remains locked on a black screen and i've to wait that it's battery is discharged or i've to put the charge connector and it wakeup.
When it wakeup and is unlocked or at the next reboot, the system data is on 02/01/1970 O.O and for 1-2 minutes it was very slowly.
I noticed that when it is on black screen, on the side of the touchscreen where is the CPU, the screen is hot and from the speakers the tablet put out some noice.
For this, i think when it is locked on black screen, it is doing something and for this the side of CPU is hot.
I think it is a problem of the stock ROM, the stock ROM is a 4.0.4 ICS.
Other users of other tablets resolved this problem with Clocksync, but in this case it was useless.
What do you think? How i can solve this problem?
The stock rom on the tablet is the last update from Mediacom.

This happens sometimes with all devices it is either an app or the system freezing wile the cpu is under a heavy load. When you press your power button dose the screen come on with a black glow or stay completely off. I would suggest doing a factory reset and check for any updates, or even better custom rom. I would suggest you dont use any restore features after your reset as this could restore the cause of the problem. I would suggest going on your computer to the play store installing all the apps you want remotely. Its faster atleast for me to scroll threw the website and set all my favorite apps to install then trying to scroll threw the store on my phone wile its slow from downloading apps.
I dont have your device but I have had a few tabs. There may be a reset button some where or try holding all the buttons for 15 seconds to restart your tab when it is frozen like this.
