HI Pico users,
I was thinking of creating a custom Rom since a long time now which would be based on ginger bread sense 3.5 but having an option of custom launchers (apex, holo etc..), kernels, apps, themes etc in the aroma installer
Purpose of creating this Rom or having this idea:
I myself have found that sense 3.5 is the most stable for my phone + the internet pass through function + other kernels support m2sd so no prob of less internal memory, and no bugs too and many more which i don't remember , but i find myself going back to either ateeq's Rom or nextgen1.5 all the time and very often i use launchers to change the look and have all the features.
So please give your opinions as im going to make this Rom for myself anyway, so if any one is interested in having it will take proper permissions and start a thread here once its ready! :fingers-crossed:
PLEASE DON'T STEAL THIS IDEA! :fingers-crossed:
Happy that you want to create a custom stock ROM... But, no one stealing the idea sounds crazy. Any one may be working on a custom stock ROM right now. So, please remove that line...
And as for the ideas, learn from the predecessors, I.e. next-gen, ateeq, and even the recent xenon roms
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
I know that, that line sounds crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. But bro im nit asking ppl not to make custom stock roms they can, I'm just saying that the idea what I have shared is more than that of creating a custom stock rom, correct me if I am wrong bro.....
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
Then ok... And,as you said the line does sound a little crazy... But, this lots of features can increase the size of the ROM so much, that you might first have to set up the ROM correctly and, users must be willing to download.. Users prefer a 100 mb file more than a 200 mb one, ain't it...
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
True that's ryt bro but if its like stable and also easily installable then users will surely prefer downloading coz if u see sense 4 is 200mb too I mean that's what I think that ppl will prefer it u know coz it will give them all the sense features + freedom to use other launchers to customize looks I'm still not sure myself if it willbe a good.idea to do this
I think ill try to control the size and keep it below 200mb and still include as many things as much as possible .....I guess ill pick the recent 1.4.xxx version of Rom which is odexed ill try to.deodex and for the UI ill keep the look as stock ...sound good ?
Sent from my HTC Explorer using xda premium
Okey dokey idea... But, it's up to you to decide what features to add and what not to... This is the internet... Opinions vary... Create a poll if u want...

I'm new to inspire roms. I have rooted my phone with bubbys one click root and I was wondering what the best rom was? Also how do you even flash a rom?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
There honestly isn't a best rom. Every one has their own preference, you will just have to flash them and see which one you like the most.
There is a sticky at the top of this section [guide] check it out.
The one with the bigger gb's
Theres alot of sense ROM and alot of nonsense ROM. Try cm7. IM using that one and its wonderful. To flash you copy the zip file to the root of your sd. Dont extract it. Open up ROM manager and click install from SD. I think it says that. Then check wipe data and it will install and reboot

Xaviier didn't really tell u how. Do a nandroid using rom manager. And I switch between two roms as of now. Coredroid and miui. Coredroid gives a great themed version of gb 2.3.3 (gingerbread) layered with the sense ui. Now I like the stripped rom miui due to pure beauty and interface avaliability. Not di11 and Lee I'm not dissing y'all, yalls roms are next. I simply use a rom and a few updates and allow it to settle in,then switch. I plan to use every rom to experiment speed tests,ui speed, etc. Its up to u to decide which to stick with. Imo flash a rom,fix the settings and customize any way u want. Then do a nandroid (back up using rom manager) and flash another. If a bad flash happens or u don't like the next rom, just restore. Who knows u may love more than 1

Try Ingersoll!
IknowIknow...that's like my goto answer...why not...its my goto ROM.
But seriously...if you want speed, quick response and stability...I recommend Ingersoll or dilligaf's sense ROM...both of those ROMs light up my phone.
It depends what you want in a ROM:
If you like Sense and you want to overclock, then I would go for di11igaf's ROM.
If overclocking is not important, I would go with RCMixHD 5.9 (the gingerbread version).
If Sense is not for you but you're interested in an iPhone(ish) kind of feel or you want to be able easily choose from a heap of themes then give MIUI a try.
If you're after a vanilla android flavour, go for CM7.
I generally go back and forth between RCMixHD and MIUI although I'm trying out CM7 to see what kind of battery life I can get (going camping this weekend).

Use SlideIt. Its very good I recommend it
If you don't need Sense, at least try MIUI, if for nothing else than to know what it's like. I've done a lot of the rest, came back to MIUI because it's so damn smooth and crazy fast. It's really outside the rest of the group, but it's CM7 based. Granted, it looks a lot like the iphone at first, but if you add a launcher it's more like you are used to.
That said, if I wasn't using MIUI I'd be using dilligafs, it's pretty slick. Haven't tried coredroid yet.

I meant that even though the keyboard looks small, it is super fast and super accurate. It reminds me of typing on an iPhone 4 which is IMO one of the best touch keyboards in the market.
I also really like the ability to alter the long press duration. I know a lot of keyboards have this feature, but it is really important to me. It makes entering passwords much easier. Currently have mine set to 175ms so I barely have to stop to enter a number.

Don't mind at all. In the post I even mention that I may not be able to keep it up to date, so I'm totally cool with anyone else updating it, making changes, mods or whatever.. as long as I can find links to it just in case I wanna put a modified one on my phone.
I think I might stick with this instead of going the route of modified ROMs (MIUI ports) until those builds get official. The phone works SO much better with a modified Sense build.
I want to try to modify the MIUI Launcher to have a 5x4 layout, but I can't remember how to compile the apk after you modify it. It's been a while, so I can't really remember all the steps for using apktool on a Mac. Whenever I go to install it, the app doesn't install so I'm doing *something* wrong.
We need more support for these ROMs for the Sensation

Keep an eye out for xboarder56. He's building miui for sensation. He's.also working on pure aosp for sensation as well. His hybrid cm7/aosp is great. I liked it better than straight cm7.

There is an actual miui rom on the miui site but trips from modaco is the best. I might try doing a sense based rom with this launcher instead of sense but I'm a noob and have never cooked one up before but I could always try

xboarder's been on a trip since getting in drama with cm7 team. He's trying to build everything from scratch now. Not 100% sure about MIUI being scratch or not. I didn't really look into it too much. But from what I saw on G+ it looks legit i think.

many thanks to the devs that made the mods and inspired me to want to modify my own rom, alex and rootsu for answering my noob questions and assistance.

Please give the credits to the DEVs of mods. You write that you are not DEV, but somewhere you have to have the mods. Thank you
i come her for the knowledge others can pass on and if i can pass on anything to anybody then ill be pleased, there obviously others who dnt appreciate there are noobs who dnt want to deviate from what they have to much just want space and other mods.
i may post this back up if theres interest .

As all of you know, within a week there have been many stock ROMs launched ...... and we are all confused which one to use????
So I suggest someone should try all these ROMs and suggest a best ROM amongst these
so that all the developments can take place in these ROMs only (like the good ol' times where we had lots of c-roms and mods for a rom like XXKPH!!)......this will also help the developers to just focus on creating mods and themes for our benefits.......not that he will go on creating mods for every ROM!!!!!! they too are human!!!!!!
So please do the same and suggest below so that mods like cf-roots , themes, c- roms can be created!!
please co-operate and take active participation.....
thanx
PLEASE ALSO STATE THE REASON WHY THEY ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS..
I like this thread.

Please remove xxkpm cause xxkpn is newer than xxkpm
well when someone builds a rom, the dev kinda has some affection to it.
so if someone doesnt like it, then he will try to improve it even further!!
so wat u have is "X ROM" as the best on someday n might be "Y ROM" will be best after sometime!!
n all users have different needs, so what might be best for one need not be the same for another.
I think chinese rom are in advantage due to one extra recording feature which awesome. Yes it has no gapps by default but that its not a issue.
For me all gb roms looks a like except chinese one.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using Tapatalk
ok now i am rly confused.i didnt folow updates for my phone for some time,i see ppl talk about xxkpm and that it is best and i was skins cf root for it,now you say xxkpn is relesed, where can i find it and are there any mods like cf root made for it.
All stock roms with latest build info is the better one! more bug fixes thus lead to more stable but agree different people have different need
p/s: chinese stock roms has extra feature but need to manually flash gapps
@xGiox no cf-root for xxkpn yet
Sent from my GT-I9003 using Tapatalk
My of recommendation would be a port of cranium rom + 14 toggles + 9 lockscreen mod for xxkpn!
I am sure we have ganeshbiyer & skin working towards cf root for xxkpn then work can be speeded up!
Plus sakindia is probably off for a temporary leave because of studies, therefore I request some other ROM dev like blaqkarma or nama or turab to port the cranium project for xxkpn with newer mods!

This is the Thread that Iam looking for..Because Iam also confused like you guys what is the best.. Having this thread would compare each one of them..
cause I cant decide what would be the best based on a custom rom..sure that people from Europe would say use XXKPN,People From South East Asia DXKP9 and our Chinese friend with ZCKP9.. so still hard to tell at the early stage knowing they came almost the same time.. So I think this would be a usefull thread for comparison...
To me XXKPN looks the best
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
I also confused.
Don't know whether I should choose XXKPN or ZCKP9.
Actually I has some preconception/prejudice about chinese rom, cause I don't like chinese program/apps(always full of ads+misleading info).
I know this rom released by samsung officially but still...the prejudice is there...
Really need someone who can tell me whether I should choose XXKPN or ZCKP9 or even DXKP9 or perhaps wait for a better rom...
I have started this thread since i didnt find any thread similar to this....
As i m in search of best custom rom in terms of stability, performance, speed, u.i., etc....
So i started this thread..
I want people to post in this thread about the rom they are using and their performance....
Please be elaborate in explaining about your roms, although brief explanations are also welcomed...
People are free to post any links to any custom rom...
Any new update about new customs roms releases also welcomed...(Links would be appretiated)...
Any suggestions are welcomed, since this is my first thread..
