[Q] Learn Android

Hello Android Masters,
I am a unix administrator and I am very much interested to learn Android Operating System and Wanna create Android Apps. I would love to be a part of Android Masters.
Can any of you suggest me where do I start from and whats the best learning path. I have free time and want to use it to develop my Skills.

Hi,
I am beginner in android and recently i got a req to calculate the loading time of an app programmatically. Is it possible to do that.
At least i should be able to calculate the oncreate method and onstart menthod. Kindly help me on this.

Hey guys, i'm completely new to all this stuff (a.k.a noob) but i wanna learn about programming and development, all that stuff. So i was thinking on starting with making a custom rom for android, so yeah, any help you could provide would be much apreciated, thanks in advance

Hi, as long as you want a general help and you dont need help with something specific, I will give you a general help, Google has all the information you need to get started

Xda university is a place for you ...it teaches from basic...

First Root your phone... Then clear all the basic terms like Bootloader, Kernel, etc. When you're all set, try building your own basic Rom. Try searching For Neroyoung's Complete Android ROM Guide.

I am new to xda and dont know anything about creating an android app or rom or theming.... Plz suggest me some ways so that i can learn these things... (blog or tutorial etc) :victory:

And what is needed for the manufacture of a rom android

Ok. There's something that should you know. Keep always learning and learning, if it's hard to find something that you want, it's easy that you just search by Google. Beside that, i know u are been welcomed to XDA.

You can search XDA university for that. It's a complex task, made up of many smaller ones. XDA university is a good place to start familiarizing yourself with the basics.
