Amazing feature!

Could you make it support per app color like in paranoid like so?

You should have used Xposed framework for this. So DPI changes will not break apps
Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda app-developers app

I think soft button is better than this..
because we already have touch mode for those button except home button..

Framework has an bug when launch keyboard

yes you can make this..
for enlarge navbar button you can change /res/value/dimens.xml in framework-res
change line :
Code:
<dimen name="navigation_bar_height">[B]26.0[/B]dip</dimen>
<dimen name="navigation_bar_height_landscape">[B]26.0[/B]dip</dimen>
<dimen name="navigation_bar_width">[B]22.0[/B]dip</dimen>
#Default height is 48.0 and width 42.0
for change the button you can find icon and background navbar in SystemUI /res/drawable-hdpi
maybe next time I will make this because I was very busy now..
sorry...

Can any one help? I tried this mod but when I replace framework apk it just automatcally goes into a boot loop without me rebooting I have followed the steps uptp that point. What am I doing wrong ?!!! Frustrated .

@mods
close this thread.
Posting here my SystemUI.apk, framework-res.apk and my build.prop.
(mediafire links below)
SystemUI.apk
This one originally taken from wolfbreak v6, and done some theming on my part. contains coloured notification bar icons. and the quickpanel (on-off toggles on notification bar) also has coloured icons.
framework-res.apk
Stock 2.3.3 SE framework-res.apk has coloured icons and beautiful flip-n-fold animations. Also circullar 100 level battery and animated charging battery.
Both framework-res and systemUI have color coded notification icons. (i.e. blue for bluetooth, yellow adb, green for email etc etc) along with that signal and wifi levels are also color coded (4-bars = blue, 3-bars = green like that...) (data is also coloured. upload=red, download=green, both up and down = yellow)
This will work on *any* stock based 2.3.3 rom. (I've personally tried on wolfbreak, tripnraver, stock)
build.prop
just general tweaks. to make phone a little faster and more responsive here and there. (eg. proximity delay, windowsmgr events, dalvik=int:jit and others)
the values that are modified from stock build.prop are in a separate section "arnav's mods" so you can know which are changed.

important note
if anyone can make an update.zip file out of these three files please do. you are certainly welcome. just notify me if you come up with it. thanks in advance.

the first picture, is from system ui and the second of framework?
having problems downloading systemUI, will ttry it tomorrow
clarifications
those power buttons in the pull down menu is the magic of SystemUI.apk, the circular battery is due to framework-res.apk and the icons in the status bar, some are from framework-res and others are from systemui. eg bluetooth icon = framework-res, signal bars = systemui.apk like that

[MOD] Fix usability of swipe-to-clear feature on SGY

Whats New?
Previously, the outer ScrollView did capture the motion events when the
Y distance became too large. This caused swipe-to-clear to only work
when moving the finger in an exact horizontal line.
Fix that by redirecting all motion events to the swiped notification as
soon as its recognized as being swiped.

[MOD/GUIDE][CM9]Set Your Own Status Bar Wallpaper

Custom Status Bar Wallpaper
Hey,
I've modified the SystemUI to use any custom_bg.png placed in SystemUI/res/drawable-hdpi/
as the background of the Notification area of the staus bar.
>> Nice Wallpapers to use! <<
Instructions:
- Dowload .zip
- Open .zip with WinRAR (or similar program)
- Navigate to /system/app/
- Open SystemUI.apk with WinRAR
- Navigate to /res/drawable-hdpi/
- put in any PNG named custom_bg.png and replace the existing one
- WinRar will ask if u want to update the file in the archive, click yes
- just close all windows and put your modified .zip to your sdcard and flash it
NOTE: The PNG you use will be automatically streched to fill out the full statusbar background.
so try to resize it to 480x800 pixels if you want to prevent a strange streched picture.
Example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Version with JB status bar and touchwizz theme added, use attached SystemUI.apk
ONLY for UltraGen ROM, currently!

I made 2 flashable zip files to be flashed according to where SecSettings.apk is located inside the ROM that you installed (either in system partition or preload partition)
So download and flash accordingly please...
N.B: this mod only includes ink effect with all default colors, 4-way reboot options, 4 lockscreen shortcuts, enabled smart rotation, and enabled information ticker. So if you have other features that involve android.policy.jar and SecSettings.apk files other than those mentioned, they will be lost if you apply this mod.

Thanks

It should be mentioned by ROM developer or you can take a look inside ROM.zip file that you installed and look if it has preload folder or not; if it has then open this preload folder -> symlink -> system -> app and see if SecSettings is there or not, if yes then download my preload mod.
If you still don't know or you don't have the ROM.zip file that you installed, then by any root explorer program (like RootExplorer or Root Browser) in your galaxy note navigate to system -> app folder and look for SecSettings, if you find it look for its permission, if it is rwxrwxrwx then your SecSettings is in preload partition and if it is rw-r--r-- then it is in system partition..
I hope I explain it in a good way.. :good:

I've got a bit of an issue. I flashed [Pen only] Preload SecSettings version over [TEST FIRMWARE][ODIN REPACK] JB 4.1.2 GT-N7000XXLSC_N7000OXALSC_N7000XXLSC_ROOT_DEODEX, all ready had airview and 4 way restart mods working. And even though ink effect works, settings icon vanished from app drawer and homescreen. Checked I downloaded the correct mod, reflased, still icon is missing. Checked /preload/symlink/system/app and SecSettings.apk is there with right permissions.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Sorry...

My mistake.I have same permissions.Maybe you should try to clear data in app manager.Or just move that file into system/app folder and delete symlink shortcut if you have it then reboot.
P.S. I tried "preload" zip too,and I have the same problem.

This is a simply method to set a transparent background all system app :
1. Create a 480x800 sized image with photoshop (set image opacity as you wish) and save it as .png. rename its as "tw_background_holo_dark.png"
2. Decompile framework-res.apk
3. Browse to res/values and open styles.xml. Search code for "<style name="Theme.Holo" parent="@style/Theme">"
4. On it, search this line "<item name="windowShowWallpaper">false</item>" and replace values false with true (use notepad++). Save all and close
5. Browse to res/drawable-nodpi and replace existing tw_background_holo_dark.png with your image.
6. Recompile framework-res
7. Replace framework-res.apk on your device (Root explorer, adb, flash through recovery). Personally I also clear cache and dalvik cache
8. Done :victory:
NOTE :
- Always perform backup before replace any system file! Also, I'm no responsible for any problems that may occure on your phone
- You can download this image if you want. extract and rename its as "tw_background_holo_dark.png"
- You can follow this great guide for Decompile and Rebuild framework-res.apk without errors
- If you want simple method flash Transparent All System App.zip via CWM (Only for KYRILLOSv7B)
~ SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH ~
Also include background_holo_dark.png
I just replace the PNGs in drawable-nodpi and no more xml edits and it works fine.

Works fine for 4.4.2 touchwiz, though I had to edit tw_background_holo_dark.png, change the colour code and recompile the apk. Another choice is removing that file and adding the png to drawables.
