[Q] Downgrading Google Play? - General Questions and Answers

Hello all,
I've been having a lot of issues with the new google play store, specifically with the new in-app purchase window crashing all of my apps.
I was wondering if there was a way to downgrade it to the previous version, and keep it from updating to the new one?
I have a MoPho running 2.3.5 Gingerbread. (Super outdated, I know. I'm cheap.)

Downgrade by going into 'Settings - Manage apps - All - Playstore' and clicking 'Uninstall updates'.
Keeping it like that would be a problem. Maybe u can use a modded older version? That may not update automatically.

Could you please post then here as well?
It think I'm about to downgrade from 4th version of the Play Store, because it needs sync on in order to work and I'm against it.

is there any auto update for google play? I'm trying to install older version but always update to newest version.
I tried put apk in to /system/app then in /data/app. Always autoupdate.
Some idea?

Did you look for and try reinstalling gapps ? > http://goo.im/gapps/
This could be the cure to your issue....

If you like the Android Market, try Old Market Installer app. Be sure to remove Google Play from /system/app (delete Vending.apk , Phonesky.apk and MarketUpdater.apk)
It worked for me

keeping the older play store might create some problem with the downloads. As when i did, my downloads were being interrupted and restarted again.

I'd want to keep com.android.vending-3.10.14.com and don't upgrade automatically to 4...

Playstore update . 3.9.16

Hi all heres the latest google playstore
3.9.16
Download: http://beta.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390135922294521859
Google just started rolling out an updated Google Play Store version 3.9.16 that follows the previous version 3.8.17 from August. Good news, everyone - we've already got our hands on the APK for you to install manually thanks to our loyal tipsters.
What's New
The most notable and immediately apparent new feature is the long overdue ability to remove apps you've previously downloaded from the All Apps list. If you like to try a lot of apps, that list is likely very cluttered. With the new Google Play, you can trim it to your heart's content.
Update #1: You can multi-select by long-pressing any app in the list and then tapping more apps, then delete them all in one go (added 2 new screenshots demonstrating it).
Update #2: The new Play Store now keeps track of your location in lists, including My Apps and All Apps, so when you click into an app and back, it drops you into the same spot. I had variable luck with this, and it didn't seem to work in All Apps at first, but I just reproduced it on both the EVO LTE and the Nexus 7. Brilliant.
Update #3: The notification icon that shows up when you have app updates has changed, and notifications are now expandable. I've added more screenshots showing the differences.
The size of the Play Store APK actually went down, so Google must have trimmed some extra fat. We're still digging through everything
Thanks androidpolice
Finally! I wonder though.. will it decrease app download amounts? Obviously if people remove it, it wasn't something they liked..

What happens if you have the same Google account on 2 devices and have an app on 1 but not the other and you remove the app from the device that doesn't have the app installed?
What happens if you delete a purchased app? Do you have to pay for it again if you want to re-install it later?

I'm on paranoid android 2.2 rom on my Nexus 7, I have gapps ending in "26" installed, which I believe are the gapps from August, and installing this gives me an error message "conflicting signatures".....I don't even have the play store under "downloaded" apps like you would normally find it, but it is under the "all" tab. It was suggested that I rename the apk to "phonesky" and copy it to system/apps, I don't even see "phonesky" anywhere in the files, it's not on my Nexus 7. Can someone please help me out of the know what I can do to get this installed? It's so baffling that a simple apk won't install.
I would appreciate any help at all. Thank You.

There won't be any issues with updating the app. ( I'm not sure about paid apps, but they should be fine too I guess) They are rolling it out at some places, it will be available to everyone soon.
And follow what altered said to remove it.

If you don't want to have to deal with downloading this and installing the apk, you can get it to update on its own by going to manage apps then play store services, and then clearing the data. After you have done that, open up the play store and it will have updated on its own.

I found one, but for some reason it just FCs on my phone. Its a CWM flashable zip.
Try if it works for you. http://db.tt/dMlJzMzX
Or just google for it. There are many sites offering it.
you need to unnistall play store's updates, then go and delete any play store files from within /data/app folder then place downloaded Phonesky.apk inside system/app folder if prompt say yes on replace file , if not , delete vending.apk ,set permissions , reboot and enjoy , just disable all internet connections during that process
Edit : found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231787
Edit2: follow my directions flashable zip doesn't work for us, extract phonesky.apk from zip file
