[Q] Touch screen issues - HTC Sensation

My sensation's touchscreen has a problem
-there is an inactive strip in the middle of the screen
-there are imaginary touches on the screen in one straight line a bit below the middle of the screen.
-the aluminum foil on grounding pin trick does not work
any suggestions?

I tried by brother's housing (Sensation XE, white) but the problem is still there. It also happens while charging, so maybe this is not about static?

Bump for the same issue..
I'm pretty sure this requires a replacement of the touchscreen/digitizer. Can someone please that this is the fix and not the entire lcd screen?
Thanks a bunch. FWIW, I had the same issue with my EVO 3d and Sprint gave me a replacement phone so I'm not sure what was bad.
Cheers!

Did I brick my Phone? Your opinion is requested

Hello all, I just recently reflashed my Fuze (raph100) with the energy rom (21901.Sense2.1.Apr.25.7z) and it was working fine, but I was having some issues so I decided to reflash it. However, this time where it says tap the screen, it is not responding and I can't calibrate it. Have I bricked my phone? Well probably not, I can probably simply replace the screen if its a hardware issue, but what if its a software wise? I am going to try to flash the TPC Fuze V3.1 rom and see if that resolves it, but any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh on a related note, there seems to be some liquid inside the screen, it started off as two dots but one of those dots has grown and is kind of spreading across, is this liquid coming internally? Is my phone a goner? Thanks for your time.
We are sure that its not caused by flashing.....

Maybe the liquid thats inside your screen broke the touchscreen?
Okay so it turns out i found some other threads talking about liquid under the screen, and their method to fix it was to use duct tape on the screen and pull it up. This not only alleviated the liquid issue underneath (still a little wet but not the blob) but it also fixed my touchscreen issue. I have had to use this trick a few times due to screen becoming non responsive but hey its better than throwing it away. I looked up a guide on replacing the digitizer and lcd screen and it really doesn't look like its worth it. Ugh wish they had planned the assembly to be more user friendly. I appreciate the help though thanks.
lol do you have to carry a roll of duct tape around? lol jk
but incase you needa get a digitzier they sell for like 15-20 bucks on ebay. not bad
lol i was carrying around a roll of duct tape in my car, and let me tell you it was getting quite annoying since the tape kept losing its sticking power. Also, it wouldn't be very long before i had to do it again, became so tedious went back to my old phone. I did some shopping around and found a place in Southern California that will fix it for $75 parts and labor included. Sweet. It's too bad I bought it used for 130 lol, oh well $205 bucks is not bad for an unlocked phone with no contract right? Anyway, I don't believe it's the digitizer that's bad, but the broken LCD crystals that fill the device with liquid that prevent the digitizer from recognizing that its not always being depressed. What do you think?
So it's not only me having this crappy liquid problem thing.. I've got this blue looking blob thing under the screen and it's stuffing the touchscreen up.. I use my screen protector instead of the duct tape.. lol the screen protector doesn't lose its stickness for some reason.. :S

A housing will only do so much... When you took it apart, were the internals damaged? If so, then I hope you weren't expecting much.
why did you change the housing?

The one on the east side???
My housing was all scratched up and the camera lens was also scratched. And the slide door over the usb was missing because the housing was cracked. Everything worked ok other than that. Now it turns on I can hear the start up and all the buttons on the bottom work when I touch them but the screen is a purplish color. I guess I damaged the LCD when I took it apart. I will need to find a replacement if anyone has a good place to buy one. I saw some on ebay not sure if they are any good.
make sure its all connected. sounds like sounds like the only RB are being triggered and no green. make sure the screen is plugged in to the mainboard. unplug it and plug it back. happened to me with my blackberry (way back in the day)
Thanks I have rechecked all the connections I have had many phones taken apart and repaired so this is not my first time. Not sure what happened but it was a pain to get the LCD out of the front housing maybe I put to much pressure and damaged it. I need to find a new replacement LCD.

Imperfection in Nexus S build or Something.

I got my Nexus S 4G last month, but one thing i noticed is that the side of the phone isn't flush with the door, so part of the phone is uneven with the battery door, you can see it and feel it, I tried another battery door and it didn't correct it. Have any of you guys have had this issue? Would the phone need a new front housing or something to fix it?

I didn't even notice this until I read your post. It's the side of the phone that the volume rocker is on right?
Yes, my sister has the same phone but it's even on that side. A defect?

I guess it is. It doesn't bother me though.
Not sure exactly what you mean, but do you mean there's a small small gap on the right side where the volume rocker is, even if the door is fully clipped?
Because mine used to be perfect, sent my phone to Samsung for repair and it came like that. Tracked the problem down to the top right screw (remove the back) stop the back from clipping perfectly, but still letting clip on. Made a turn or half a turn and then everything was fine when I clipped it back. Found it weird Samsung would miss this, but hey, they're human.
That's weird.
Mine is perfectly flush.

[Q] clean dust under screen

I have the dreaded "dust under screen" issue on my Sensation and getting too bad to ignore. I know there are many threads here and videos online for REPLACING the digitizer. As the digitizer is not damaged i want to lift it, clean and refit with 3M double sided tape. I cant find any video on removing and refiting without replacing the digitizer.
Does anyone know if:
The digitizer can be romoved without damaging the cable?
Remove without damaging/distorting the digitizer when seperating from the screen?
Can the digitzer be lifted off screen without disassembling the phone? (Preferred option)
I have searched and cant find any info both on XDA and elsewhere. I know the digitizers can be bought cheaply but id rather not have to take the phone apart to replace it.
it took me 1min to google for this

I guess you misread my post..... it would have taken less than a minute to read it properly.
I see lots of videos and info on replacing the digitizer but i dont want to do that. I asked for info on removing/lifting the digitizer without having to fit a new one. I want to know if anyone has done this without damaging the digitizer taking it apart from the screen. I have searched LOTS for the relevant ino but cant find answers.

As shown in the many online videos and like the link posted above. Just dont cut the ribbon cable.
I bought a toolkit and 3m tape online. Really the only tools needed are a guitar pick(for seperating lcd/digitizer), torx bit, small flat screw driver or similar for prising plastic motherboard cover and a bic pen cap for lifting ribbon cable connectors and pulling cable out.
Must be disassembled as the digitizer cable has little slack for it to be lifted, Make sure you heat well with a hair dryer (heatgun not needed) and dont push the guitar pick too far in as it spreads the adhesive onto the lcd and back of digitizer. Be extra careful at the top corners as I slightly marked the area inside top left border. It can be hard cleaning both surfaces, if u ever fit a screen protector you will know what I mean, just twice as hard.
Powered up first time but left side of keyboard numbers were not working and screen was a bit slow to respond. Stripped phone again to check digitzer cable connections and all were ok.
Flashed a calibration file found on this site and its working fine now. S-OFF and Super CID are required for this so best to do before you start.
Note: Dust was getting in both sides on mine and gathering in the centre. When I cleaned the LCD I noticed, under the heavy dust gathered in the centre, the screen was permanently marked. I guess screen was burned but it cant be seen when the screen is on.
Why would you go through all this trouble? This is covered by your HTC Guarantee.
I allready had the screen replaced one time because of dust. Second time because my phone got sunburned (see sig.) and because dust and now on my "new"device I'm seeing dust again. Getting really tired of it. Haven't had a 100% good phone for 1 day during the first of 2 years contract

Except HTC never fixes this problem. Everytime I sent my phone to them, they just keep cleaning out the dust, nut of course it fills up with dust in a matter of weeks again.
Bought another phone off eBay, haven't looked back since. No dust, no nothing.

I bought my Sensation used so I had no receipt. Would probably have to go back to stock, S-ON, be without phone for a few weeks etc which was just too much hassle.
Really wasn't too much trouble and it can be done in 20mins.

Air Bubble Inside of Screen

I recently bought a used HTC One S. Its in great shape and I've only had it for a few months. A few days ago I noticed an air bubble on the left side of my screen. At first I thought it was a crack or a scratch but the glass on my phone is fine. It keeps getting larger and I don't have any money for a new phone at the moment so I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or knows how to fix it?

I don't have a screen protector on my phone. Its in the screen its self :crying:
I used to see this on the old acclaims a lot. Best bet is a blowdryer to reheat the glue under the digi. Let it cool slowly though or it can crack (though it's unlikely)
Otherwise it'll need a new digitizer

I've tried this because I saw it on a form for one of the older iPhones and it made it worse!! I'm not really worried about anymore. Guess I'll have to wait for my upgrade later this year

I have the same issue .. just started for me... last year my broken screen had been replaced...
Theoretically this will occur when the digitizer is getting apart from the screen. As you may know, the screen we see it's composed from several layers glued together. The digitizer is the last layer, the one we touch and transmit our touches to the OS. This is also the part that usually gets broken (if the shock wasn't too big ofc to break the actual LCD screen).
You could go to a service, they are used to replace such parts and they could glue it back. It might be possible that your device had the digitizer replaced in the past and it was not properly glued as it have been initially in the manufacturing plant and that's why you have the issue
