Apply the "Invalid Partition Error" fix before rooting!!!
To avoid unfixable bootloop, first apply this patch from Acer.
Install the APK, start it, click on FixG1PMT (no feedback) and uninstall afterwards. Good luck!
If you're rooting with prerooted system.img.gz here are the Downloads. Pick the one, fitting to the firmware installed on your tablet, otherwise you will get into bootloop!

FAQ
Q: I'm stuck inside a bootloop after rooting!!!11
A1: The system.img.gz you applied, wasn't suiting to the firmware version installed on your tablet. Download latest Acer firmware update ( !!! if available !!!), copy it on a micro sd card, plug it into your Iconia, go to recovery by holding Volume up and Power button while device is turned off. Then choose apply update from sd card.
A2: If you cannot apply any Acer firmware, because you always get a partition error while installing, you should do a reboot after you get the error. A user reported that this made her/his device boot into Android again, showing the new version in settings -> info. Good luck
A3: If your device is really bricked you could try bring it back to life. Here you find help: link1, link2, link3, link4 (many thanks to Gilly10, drmad and Hamza91)
A4 (B1-A71, B1-710, B1-711 only): Unbrick
A5: If the A1 - A4 didn't help. Send back the device to Acer. Tell them you tried to apply an update from sd card and ended up in this bootloop. Sending device back to Acer over UPS is free. Good luck!
Q: Successfully rooted, but still no root after rebooting!
A: Have you installed Superuser App from Google Play Store?
(B1-A71 only)Q: Cannot update, always getting ERROR: - Invalid partition setting; 17: fat 238e8000:888e8000; Instalation aborted.
A: Download "Invalid Partition Error" Patch.
(B1-A71 only)Q: I applied update from RV05RC05 to RV05RC06 but still it shows RV05RC05.
A: There is no RV05RC06. It is the RV05RC05. It got on Acers Download section with a RV05RC06 named zip file. But the content is 100% equal to RV05RC05.
Q: Toolkit fails or crashes for any reason and I don't know what to do.
A: Run it again with parameter -d, e.g.: toolkit.exe -d and post the entire output here.
Q: Root from scratch on Linux doesn't work because of Error message: 'No such file or directory bin/posix/64/adb'
A: sudo apt-get install ia32-libs libstdc++6 libgcc1 zlib1g libncurses5 libsdl1.2debian
Q: Can i flash a custom recovery?
A: No, because bootloader is locked. You would brick your tablet.
Q: Are there Custom ROMs?
A: No, see answer above.
Q: Is my data wiped during root?
A: No.
Q: Do i lose root after factory reset or wipe date?
A: No.
Q: I get an error in Engineer mode entering telnet command.
A: If Swiftkey is installed / enabled try settings Google AOSP Keyboard as default.
Q: How can I start telnet server manually?
A: Try this.
What you can do with root:
Apply Supercharger V6 by zeppelinrox and significally speed up your tablet! [My small How-To]
Install Adaway, an ad-blocker for webbrowsers and apps containing ads.
Install ROM Toolbox and customize boot screen and other funny things.
Install Titanium Backup to Backup, Freeze, Uninstall any App and more.
Install Datasync to sync app data like save states between rooted devices.
What you can NOT do with root on these devices:
Change DPI
Flash Custom Recoveries
Flash Custom ROMs

Regards,
I uploaded a new version where I added some commands that hopefully resolve the permissions issues.
The problem is, that I can't reproduce it.
Are you rooting the Iconia the first time? or did you already have root before?
Regarding the progress bar. It only appears when writing the system.img.gz
I have Windows 7 64 bit, btw.

I will try to fix it asap. The problem is, that I cannot reproduce it.
I assume that the chmod 777 /cache command that I do, before the adb push command fails with "Operation not permitted."
But this I still don't know how to fix. If someone knows, tell me!
error in v.0.2.3
Dear entonjackson,
thanks for your work and for the time you spend on it.
Unfortunately, I too have problems with the tool for Windows since version 0.2.0 and also with the latest version (0.2.3).
The error messages that I receive are identical (with the same line numbers) to those receiving cakadut in his last post.
I am trying to root Iconia for the first time.
I tried with Windows 7-32bit and Windows 7 64-bit.
My configuration:
Iconia B1-A71 8GB ROM, 512Mb ram
Android 4.1.2
kernel 3.4.0
Image version: Acer_AV051_B1-A71_RV04RC04_WW_GEN1
Build Number: Acer_AV051_B1-A71_1.174.00_WW_GE
I hope you can find the solution.
Thank you for sharing your work with us.
Just uploaded a new version. Could you please try again?
It's hard to fix for me, because I don't have the problem, so all I can do is try. Thanks for the patience!
****, I think i found the bug. Don't try 0.2.4 it won't work also.

Ok, people. With pawitp's help I hopefully fixed the permissions bug.
The problem was, that i was trying to chmod the /cache directory directly from adb shell, which isn't possible. I forgot, that this needs to be done from telnet. So in 0.2.6 I'm setting permission with telnet. This should fix it!
Please report!
Good luck :fingers-crossed:

I will try to do a video tutorial, but it's very easy to do.
Download and install Ex Dialer & Contacts.
Launch the app.
Dial *#*#ENGMODE#*#*.
Swipe from right to left (to Connectivity). Then choose CDS Information and Network Utility.
There you paste this command: /data/local/tmp/busybox telnetd -l /system/bin/sh -p 1234
stell no thing happen maybe i must upgrade to pro version ???

Thanks entonjackson,
unfortunately with version 0.2.6 I can not get the ADB connection with the tablet. The message it gives me is:
"Trying to Establish ADB Connection (If this hangs, ADB Connection failed. CMD Shell Close and open a new one) ..."
and remains so without making the connection.
If I run the command 'adb devices' in another command line session, the device is seen correctly (0123456789ABCDEF device),
but when I run the new version (0.2.6) of the tool, the message is what I wrote above.
Thank you for your patience.

You could just use flashtool too. (except for installing to system partition)
Guide:http://imgur.com/a/MBe5a
Hi could You help me with this:
- BlueStacks 0.8.7.3069 (ver 4.0.4), cpu amd, I did all the steps with MultiTool v1.21r1 auto root, superuser, launcher, de-bloat etc. everything works perfect
- changed settings of build.prop many times manually via app and thru multitool update without any problems
- however once i used wrong version of build.prop from BS Tweaker folder 09 (which are (now i know) for BS builds <0.9 (ver 4.4.2) and uploaded it via multitool >>> result: after restart Bluestacks got infinite loop on boot
- unfortunately I didn't make backup of C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\Android
- so I tired to change back the build.prop , In BS there are 2 locations: //data/bluestacks.prop and //system/build.prop
The 1 under //data is bs-specific file that simulator has priority to use
- I mounted Root.fs via OSF and changed //system/build.prop to good build.prop.BAK
- Now, BS runs but showing only black screen
- When I trying to use Multitool to update build.prop got error: * Checking for system services status.... ERROR: Timed out while waiting for required services.
So, how to repair BS to previous state with all installed apps? How to inject proper build.prop to //data/bluestacks.prop to see if that could help?
//BS Tweaker under BSProp reports me this bad build.prop for 4.4.2.
Best
solved
Hi, I repaired it in a simple way.
- ADB didn't allow me to inject proper build.prop in /data/.bluestacks.prop because of problem with root access - ADB couldn't connect to BS as root, always got [email protected]:/ $ whatever I tired to do.
- I found different tool 'BlueStacks Easy', this allow me to convert file system format from Data.sparsefs folder to Data.fs, so I was able to mount this image via OSFMount and edit .bluestacks.prop using copy&paste method then convert back.
- Result: BlueStacks backed to work, no more black screen :victory:

Hi guys,
I'm here to explain my new fresh app that I tested on my HTC Desire 310 and it's faboulous. His name is...
MTKTransfROM
*What does it do?
- This app will let you do all the process of porting an MTK ROM to your MTK phone without a PC! You can choose a lot of options and method, like signing ZIP, Fix BootLoop/Stuck at Boot Logo and even READ BOOT.IMG DIRECTLY FROM YOUR PHONE and AUTOMATICALLY ADAPT THE ROM FOR YOUR PARTITION (/dev/block/mmcblk0p*)
*What do I have to do?
-All you have to do is select the ZIP ROM, choose chipset and options and then click "Port ROM for your device!". The default chipsets installed are taken on online forums, like XDA and 4pda.ru (thanks a lot for those guides), but you can build your own chipset method with a simple text editor!
*How can I build my chipset method?
-The chipset structure is like: e.g.
Code:
[B]system/bin/vold [/B] (Copy this file from your device)
[B]system/etc[I]/[/I][/B] (Copy entire directory, replacing existing files)
[B][I]-[/I]system/etc/ [/B] (First delete ROM folder and then copy entire folder)
[B]system/lib/libaudio[I]*[/I][/B] (Copy all files that starts with libaudio...)
Then save it as "{THE NAME YOU WANT}.txt" in your SDCard under "MTKTransfROM" named folder (e.g. /storage/sdcard0/MTKTransfROM/mt6589.txt)
*Bugs?
Existing bugs TODO:
-During porting, the UI lags. Don't worry, the app is working. If appears Not Responding error, just wait.
-For now, it's only in English.
*Changelog
**1.2
- Discarded zip4j for problems during extraction, using java.util.zip now
- Fixed Exception on some ROM structures
- Added Exit menu voice if activity doesn't terminate
**1.0
- Initial Release

Now I need help from you community...
As you can see from Play Store screenshots, it has the "Port boot.img" function. However I'm searching a method to unpack and repack MTK boot.img directly from phone. If someone can help me, I will be the most happy man in the world!
As for now, it's the only thing I need to let this app became perfect!

Thanks, I will try it and see if it works :fingers-crossed:
I was thinking of doing something similar with MT6732/52 devices...
[I'd be doing it from recovery as I have almost zero app making abilities]
Have a look at the MTKsplit file in the MTK folder in my sig. for the boot.img (un)pack - it works fine with the 64bit SoC's boot/recovery images - so not sure about the older ones.

MTKsplit can/does run on android itself - thats why I wrote it. It's a sh - primarily using dd to split the boot/recovery. I removed the #! at the top so the same script can be run fron recovery and system (making it default to the shell that calls it - /sbin/sh in recovery and /system/bin/sh in system).
Just tested the MTKsplit against a 6592 recovery.img and it works fine:
Code:
[email protected]_phone:/tmp # ls -la
ls -la
-rwx------ root root 5867520 2015-10-05 16:22 recovery-6592.img
[email protected]_phone:/tmp # MTKsplit recovery-6592 unpack
MTKsplit recovery-6592 unpack
Unpacking recovery-6592 - will only take 30 seconds
All Done...
Command line: f30"
Ramdisk unpacked to /tmp/work
[email protected]_phone:/tmp # ls -la
ls -la

thanks for the rom, i ve already flashed it onto my soho.
is there a list with all the features of the rom? what did you remove and could you remove the amazon-ads too?
rom seems bugless so far and i ve installed xposed from solarwarez without a problem.
Many thanks for putting this ROM together - it breathes new life into my soho Kindle.
I've just finished installing/booting, ROM is working great. Any tweaking for power/speed would be awesome.
Cheers !

It is listed but not hyperlinked - First Soho Fireos 4 based customized rom

So I wiped the system partition prior to flashing, and now missing basic system elements for boot. Apparently this is a mod and not a ROM. So what's custom? I don't see anything different. What's "unlocked" exactly that wasn't already?
hey guys i have a twrp system backup for you for the latest update but i recommend the new Android 7.1.X based rom for our device
one last update: for amazon fire os will be uploaded this week

How to root a Kindle Fire 7 (2013) soho
Hello everybody! I am new to xda so I hope I'm in the right place. I have tried to start a new thread about this but I coudl not so I am posting this here hoping to find an answer. Rooting a KF (2013) has proved to be quite challenging for me, also because I am dumb . Anyway I have tried to install the 'Permanent Root with Superuser' via Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.8 but I am not able to. I know that I am missing something but I am too dumb to understand what. I need the help of experts. So, I have run Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.8 and I got this:

In both cases my tablet reboots but checking with 'Root Analyzer' I can see that it is not rooted.
I have also tried rooting with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v30 choosing the 1st option but I get this:

Surely someone has or can get the Official ROM for The Doogee T5s Note it's T5s not T5 nor T5 Lite.
It's Processor is MTK6735 not MTK6753. I need the ROM with the Scatter file. If you have a Custom Recovery TWRP/CWP that would be helpful too.
If need be I'll put a bounty on it but I am hoping some samitan will be so kind as to post it.

To be brief:
I have not found the stock ROM for the DOOGEE T5S, nor tried any new custom ROM to replace it.
I have managed to install a TWRP with SuperSU powers.
These instructions might help you clean up your current system.
Bonus: the recovery menu (TWRP) is multilingual.
Caveat emptor:
My stock ROM came with a nasty couple of Trojans(a) and other potential malware(b) embedded. The Trojans subscribed me to "premium" phone services, costing me some money. I went through the whole hassle in order to get rid of them.
If you have a DOOGEE T5S, your phone is probably infected too. Owners of other DOOGEE phones should beware. (c,d,e)
DISCLAIMER: The following instructions could seriously harm or brick your phone. I make no guarantees of any type, shape or form as to the end results. These operations WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
What I did:
Last warning: during these operations I had to do a factory reset of my phone. I strongly recommend you BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA before you continue.
1] Install TWRP & root the phone (f)
* Download the required files:
- The TWRP image file here:
[Search the NEEROM dot COM website]
- The SuperSU patch file here:
[Search the NEEROM dot COM website]
* Unrar the TWRP image. Leave the SuperSU patch zipped.
* Enter fastboot mode.
Using ADB in terminal:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
* Flash the TWRP image in the recovery partition.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/twrp/image/recovery.img
(in my case fastboot requires root privileges, so sudo it.
* Reboot and enter in recovery mode.
In fasboot send the reboot system, but press Volume UP during reboot.
* Enter into TWRP and Install the patch "SuperSU 2.78-SR1"
Once in TWRP, ADB is again functional.
Load SuperSU patch to your sdcard:
Code:
adb push /path/to/your/patch/SuperSU_Pro_v2.78-SR1.zip /sdcard/
In the TWRP menu, go to "Install". Browse to the "sdcard" directory. Select the SuperSU patch and Install.
* Reboot to the system.
Beware: system will not start if you haven't installed the SuperSU patch. It will loop at startup, and won't progress beyond the startup logo.
2] Initial setup.
From factory reset, the phone will go through the first installation procedures. Follow the setup until your system logs on, and you can connect again to your phone via ADB.
3] Get rid of the malware.
* Disable the apps:
Without need of supercow powers:
- Enter an adb shell:
Code:
adb start-server
Code:
adb shell
Disable the apps:
In a normal ADB shell:
Code:
pm disable your.package.name.here
If you don't know the name of the packages, you can always get the full list with:
In your normal terminal (not adb):
Code:
adb shell 'pm list packages -f'
In an ADB shell:
Code:
pm list packages -f
* Remove the apps:
First try a normal removal. If they are system apps this will fail, but try anyways.
Code:
pm uninstall your.package.name.here
* Escalation to remove apps:
Now that the first try has failed, get supercow powers:
In the ADB shell:
Code:
su
(You should get a message on your phone telling you that ADB is requiring root privileges. Say OK)
Now your ADB console should read something like "[email protected]"
And we try again:
Code:
pm uninstall your.package.name.here
But we have a super hardcore app that fails to be removed with the normal supercow powers. So we step it up. (g)
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 your.package.name.here
... SUCCESS!
But wait, the app is still there. Yes, you only removed it for root. So... lets do some overkilling:
Meanwhile:
Let's check the ID of the system user:
Code:
id system
In my phone "system" is 1000
So, here we go:
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 1000 your.package.name.here
Your mileage may vary. Sometimes the first command does the trick, sometimes the app is still there.
Is it gone? Not always.
Can it creep out from the netherworld? Maybe. So, let's beat the dead horse.
* Silence the dead (h)
Just in case the app is still lurking, let's make it harder for it to creep up on us.
Code:

Great. Silent in its coffin.
But is the app still there? Sadly, yes. I looked around and the apps were still there, in a privilege data folder.
* Root it out (i)
This is an extreme measure. You can really harm yourself doing this, so... you have been warned.
At this stage, you should be using supercow powers. If you are not, brief recap:
Code:
adb shell
su
Now, the systems partition is read only, so you cannot remove the content there. So, to remove the files there, you have to remount it in read-write mode. Here we go:
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
Now, find the app directories you want to remove. In my case, the apps were in "/system/priv-app". So:
Code:
rm -rf /system/priv-app/YourAppFolder/
And, eventually, erase the associated data:
Code:
rm -rf /data/data/your.package.name.here
A read-write /system/ partition is not a good idea, so we reset as read-only:
Code:
mount -o ro,remount /system
[You might need this]
I don't remember if this is required. Maybe to be able to write to the recovery partition via fastboot...
Code:
adb shell setprop ro.secure 0
This voids the GUARANTEE. You have been warned (AGAIN).

I am amazed you were able to do as much as you did with just ADB! Usually this type of phone (ChinaPhone) requires flashing the bootrom with a utility called SP Flash Tool and , VCOM Drivers as well as the aforementioned Scatter file! BTW There is a rom for the T5S LITE but not T5S (Despite many many requests, falling on deaf ears)

Yes, I did notice the lack of help regarding the release of the stock ROM. Given that (in my case) it was a compromised ROM (Trojans & Co.), I would imagine why they would not release the original one. It surprises me they are not releasing a cleaned up version, though.
The TWRP for the T6 works fine on the T5S. I was tempted to try one of the custom roms for T6 pro available at needrom DOT com. The thing is I need a working phone, so I cannot hard or soft brick my T5S. Not having a fallback ROM, that kind of nails it down for now.
I'm deploying LineageOS on a series of other devices. If all goes well, I might give LineageOS for T6 pro a try on my T5S. My concern is not the chipset of the SOB, it's the periphericals. Chiefly the capacity to recognize the SIM cards. It would defeat the purpose to have a running Android Nougat on my phone and not be able to make calls.

Replacement stock ROM: use the T5 lite stock ROM

Surely someone has or can get the Official ROM for The Doogee T5s Note it's T5s not T5 nor T5 Lite.
It's Processor is MTK6735 not MTK6753. I need the ROM with the Scatter file. If you have a Custom Recovery TWRP/CWP that would be helpful too.
If need be I'll put a bounty on it but I am hoping some samitan will be so kind as to post it.
Thanks in Advance.

UPDATE:
Previously described to have successfully flashed TWRP 3.0.3 from needrom, with root powers, allowing for housekeeping of the original ROM.
I now inform you to have successfully flashed the T5 Lite stock rom (the UPDATE) into the T5S.
The ROM is apparently fully functional: RadioFM, front camera, back camera, WiFi, SIMs. I have not found any non-functioning feature.
I have tried to flash in a custom ROM, but until now I have been unsuccessful. While flashing the ROM with TWRP I get a 255 error. I'm thinking I need TWRP 3.1 or 3.2 to flash the custom ROMs I have. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a TWRP 3.2 for the DOOGEE T5 lite/T5S.
I'll keep you all posted.
Need SuperSU
Is anyone here who can send me the "SuperSU_Pro_v2.78-SR1.zip"
PLEASEEEE don't send me the needrom link. Thanks!

Finally the T5S firm is available at doogee.cc comunity!
I had to use it to revive my T5S after trying to flash TWRP recovery: I tried TWRP from T5, T6 and T6 Pro but in all cases phone got stuck in a boot loop. :crying:
I don't know if the official firmware contains bloatware... I'll keep any eye on it...
Doogee T5S rooten
After some time consuming experiments, I finally got my T5S rooted.
The main point after installing TWRP, througth fastboot or SP-Flash tool is:
1st: Booting immediatly into the recovery mode (prevents the operating system to switch to the original recovery app)
2nd: installing Super-SU before booting in the system (I my case it prevents the boot-loop. I think a must!)
When you finally restarted successfully the operating system, deactivate the APP "Aktualisierung mit Funknetz" (in englisch I think something like "OTA WiFi upgrade") , which seems to be reason for the malware. I my case, since I did it, no pop ad's appeared! (since 3weeks)
Remark:
As the T5S has the some CPU as T5light you can flash this firmware as well. I did it with the SP-tool but with same problem of poping up of unwished AD's, i.e. you have to root to put the above mention APP in deactivat mode (I did it with the app: 3C System Tuner Pro).
