AOSP ROM question thread. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Do aosp ROMs support NFC? Do they support mhl?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2

NFC does work.
you should title your threads better. you have two specific questions here, neither of which are addressed in your title.

Based on the thread title I thought it was yet another ROM suggestions thread.

Ill think of better title, i will probably switch it so others may ask questions about certain aosp ROMs. I'm a flashoholic and i haven't yet recieved my s3... Expect me to be all over the aosp ROMs and i would say making them work for Verizon/straight talk/page plus as i did on the e4gt forums....but this will already be Verizon. Silly me....

[Q] Custom rom for gt-p3100?

As subject, is there any vustom rom for gt-p3100?
Thanks, ming
Sent from my MZ601 using Tapatalk 2
Right now there's this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1638524
And this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1643736
And neither of those are really very "custom" when compared to some of the other ROMs out there. I've been running the AOKP ROM and like it.

Can you not read? If you have to make a thread asking then maybe you shouldn't even try to flash it.
Please RTFM before attempting to install a ROM... or anything for that matter.
Questions should be posted in Q&A forums, not development forums.
Thread moved.
is there a jb rom
it would be nice to have sum jb roms
And it would be nice for you to read...you just show up here and start ask for things.
This is just your second post.

Skyrocket Jb Setup

All right, Newb on posting, not on the phone, flashed dozens of roms kernels etc, but with all of the development going on with the jb rom, i have to ask, i've read so many threads different combinations, links are down etc, personally, i want to know the absolute best setup you guys have found so far on the jb rom, and working links if possible, i know the venom kernel is pretty amazing i hear, just want some more options before i go from stock ics, new phone btw, old phone inspire 4g
Always Thanks To The Dev's For All Of The HARD WORK!

if i could delete it i would but it won't let me,
Locked. The reason I don't let "best x, y, z" threads is because in the very end its you not everyone else's choice. What I think is stable might not be what you think. It also ends up as a flame/troll war.
Cheers

Newb needs help

I have one question I want to root my skyrocket and have the best custom rom flashed. Which rom would that be and where can I download it with instructions. I've been using android for a week and I really like it. I want my skyrocket. To be fat and smooth though. I heard custom roms can help. The stock ics is nice but not always smooth.
Best rom threads are not allowed I am reporting this thread. I suggest you read the noob threads then look in the dev section and read

It's just a simple question. You do not have to be mean. I'll read and check the rules though.

Because it isn't development of any kind... if there isn't something you modded or built, then it doesn't belong in develpoment... a general question of what's with the lack of roms is most definitely not development... read forum rules before posting next time... Q&a is for questions and answers, general is for general discussions about the device and development is for DEVELOPMENT only... if there isn't something flashable, generally it doesn't belong in development... make sense?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
Please, post in appropriate section next time. Consider yourself warned.
Devs post and watch in the general and q&a section. I'm a flashaholic so I feel your pain. I hear the 8000 model ROMs work but I can't really get a solid answer plus just because it works it don't mean it couldn't throw skomethkng out ta wack. Patience I'm sure once more people see the power this device has development will come.

I flashed the N8000 JB Rom on my N8013 with no problems whatsoever. all I did was turn on airplane mode then turn on wifi so it would turn off all the radios besides the wifi radio to conserve battery. On my days off im going to search on the Evo View forums because I remember there was a way to completely disable 3G Radios via a flashable zip. If I can get that to work we can essentially share roms but just flash the radio disabling zip afterwards for our N8013

The 8013 should only have wifi and bluetooth radios right? What does airplane mode prevent?
I would figure the rom which is N8000 would be constantly looking for a radio that wouldnt be there would be sometype of a battery drain

Are there any other bugs to the JB ROM or does everything else work well?
I'm really hoping someone will build a pure vanilla ROM as I HATE Touchwiz.

If N8000 and N8013 aren't perfectly interchangeable and oy need to have like one thing disabled in order for it to work 100%, I'll get to work on something in a week or so.

Last I checked it was for the N8000 (might be the N8013 too, but couldn't tell), but I read it had quite a few issues still.

Dude stop worrying already. Entropy has an 8013 note and he is an awesome dev. He already released a kernel and 3 builds of CM10. Check the CM10 thread in general, second post there is a 9/15 update for CM10.

Well I think the fact we dont have official JB yet is what is holding most devs back. Why spend the time developing for ICS when it will be obsolete any day now?
Once JB OTA is out I think we will see a major pop in development.

[ROMS] Unofficial Nightlies for Grouper (wifi)

Hello, I am not responsible for your device. If it bricks it is because of you and not me. I am in no way responsible for what you do.
Secondly, these are Droid-Hive Exclusive Download Links. Do not REPOST the download links on other sites. You can direct back here. If I see someone copys the download link somewhere else I will shut down the Nexus 7 nightlies.
Instructions:
Download from here: http://droid-hive.com/index.php?/topic/1474-roms-unofficial-nightlies-for-grouper/
install in recovery.
wipe if need be
reboot.
Finally have fun and spread the word. I will try to add ROMs that you request. I am mainly over at DH tho but I will do my best to maintain this over here.
These are all untested builds. I currently don't own a Nexus 7 but I received a lot of interest from Users in my galaxy nexus thread about bringing this to the Nexus 7.
All the credits go to the Developers of each respective ROM. I take no credit for the ROMs themselve just for building them and hosting them for your convenience. I will do my best to update these ROMs at a fast pace for all the crack flashers. Thank you again for your understanding of what this thread is and have a nice day.
First!

Nice, thanks for Xylon 19, will check it out via muiti boot. Dax and the Xylon team does awesome work.
Edit: Xylon Settings force closes making the ROM basically useless. Lock screen settings work cause they are part of the Settings.apk.
Well I'll build xylon again today. Hopefully they fixed whatever the issue is.

I know your building quite a few ROMs here, but why aren't you testing them? That is something that would be quite noticeable if you tested it. Not bashing, just wondering.
Honestly I don't own a nexus 7 lol I had a lot of members on DH ask me to do nightlies for it. Also nightlies are always beta. Stuff will be broken.

It says what all other threads say, doesn't mention that they are untested. I think the OP could use a bit of an update to mention that and also more of what this is and also maybe credits and/or a link to the original thread. Not trying to hate as I appreciate the work In just think it may be confusing.
