[ROM][AOSP][GCC 4.7/-O3]CarbonRom 1.7 JB 4.2.2 [i9103][May 17][Discontinued] - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
1.7 is a pretty big update for us! Check out the changelog on our goo.im page for more, but here are the highlights:
-We've fixed PIE! It no longer decides to be invisible from time to time.
-We fixed the battery charge light! None of us use it but apparently you guys are just nuts for it!
-Dark Carbon! Huge props to Slim Roms for coming up with this unique and awesome feature.
-Lockscreen theming
-CM skinny battery is back!
-Volume key lock on silent mode option
-Backup tool - if you're flashing a new version of Carbon and already have the required version of gapps installed, it will be backed up and restored during install. This applies to system apps and custom host files as well. Please note that you should only dirty flash from Carbon to Carbon. It's ok if it's another version or a nightly - just not over other roms. Super handy for you crack flashers. Make sure you've got the most recent Gapps though, and if you're flashing from a factory reset, you'll still need to install it after install of course.
-Long pressing the "clear recents" button clears the cache
-3.4 kernel on D2xxx devices. It's finally stable enough where we're comfortable with this - remember to only flash other 3.4 kernels or it will not boot as there are rom-level dependencies.
-AOKP's awesome new navbar settings
-NFC polling mode for when you want to keep your screen off and scan tags
-MMS and call "breathe" feature. Makes the notification icon fade in and out.
-Mute dings when changing volume
-Disable/enable CRT effect on screen on/off.
-3rd party keyboard bug fixed
-deodexed again
-stability and speed enhancements
-a million other little things as well - we basically don't even sleep anymore.

1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question here. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

yes you can recommend this without a doubt! for the general queries please use the general thread.

New build compiled! Testing now. Will upload if goes well.
Edit: Build up in the OP. USB connection issue is still present.

I know this might be the wrong section to post this..
But the kernel is either running at 1000 or in deep sleep. Wiped caches twice. Still no effect. Request Adam to please look into this

But there is already a thread named [project] ICS port or something like that and a group of devs are contributing. You should join with them and delete this thread. It saves many different people doing the same thing and the more devs the merrier.
Edit : I think hillbeast is also in this as i just read above so i was mistaken. Sorry.

Finally, I can post in dev section ^^
The point of trying to port cm9 is that it's brand new, and way more fun to start from scratch than catching up on a well advanced project.
Besides, developpers are once again free to choose which project to work on, and if people want so much cm7 to be completed, they still can set up a dev environnement, and get to work !

Not all people have such knowledge. Anyway it's their choice. I'm just saying it will probably take already 6 moths to complete this whereas it will only take 2 to 3 moths max finishing cyanogenmod 7 if everyone works together.

:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
camera auto exposure is same as all other cm9 ROMs, offline charging still seems bugged
Offline charging is disabled because it is a known issue.
Same for camera, known issue and probably will stay like this. Same as in cm7.

As for the offline charging, I will try and remove.
The camera is a known issue. I've no idea regarding that. May be I can try editing the default exposure levels.
Lets see what comes up next.
Most of all, lets just wish for CM to merge something new in CM9.
Hello, I'm asking for an advice, on GB I used Ubuntu font, after installation of this rom(with ubuntu font) font looks different than on GB, symbols are thinner, and I dk how to make it look similar as GB, any help?
U can only increase the size of the fonts from the display setting.. Graphics related things in ICS are totally different from GB.. Search xda for some font mods..
@DJ: Good work DJ.. Smooth!! Perfect!!.. Keep up..
Can this help for OTA?

2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ

I will test batery lifetime tomorrow. Hope my feedback helps
Edit: after waiting 5 minutes after reboot, my apps which are in internal storage are back. But I put them on home screen and those who are in internal storage are away after rebooting. Hope you understand my worse english...

Dorimanx style(CWM) but with features like TWRP
drewwalton19216801 said:
MultiROM support is definitely something we'll be looking into, but because I don't personally use it I can't guarantee anything. We also build for a ton of devices, a vast majority of which do not support MultiROM in the first place.
As for beautiful themes, feel free to make your own (we'll have a tutorial soon-ish). We're developers not designers.
As for the lack of MultiROM making this a dead project....
We do this because we like to and we don't get paid for it. We will add features as we see fit. Feel free to submit patches to our project github repository.
All that having been said, we absolutely do appreciate feature requests. But saying a project will fail if it doesn't have a specific feature you want? That's way out of line.

Is it possible to just boot this instead of actually replacing the built-in bootloader to backup the ROM without rooting and tripping Knox?

This is the nexus 5 thread. Nothing you've asked is applicable on this phone.

i was using dorimanx on my i9100, i like very much that style and your kernel is also in that format. i want to say please keep this style but features like TWRP would be best and also theme and colors option to change.(i am sorry for my bad english)

We're not in the business to make our recovery look exactly like TWRP. If you want TWRP, installing it might be best. We've already implemented themes so yeah reading the OP might've helped you figure that out. We have no plans for password protected backups, and we're not supporting nandroid, and that's not ever going to happen. So again, if you want TWRP features, use TWRP.

[ROM][DISCONTINUED][11.0] Evervolv for the OnePlus3/3T

Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom that has roots dating back to 2011 with the Google Nexus One. I think feature list is from pre CM10 era or something. Haven't heard the name CM theme manager or CWM in a long time. Feeling nostalgic though.
yeah it is, i have yet to sit down and update our feature list properly

Thanks. Some screenshot added to op would be a great presentation also, out of curiosity, have you guys added patches to support FDE on Oreo encrypted roms? Almost all new pie roms for OP3 face this issue so just wanted to give you a headsup

Reminds me of the evo 4g days with prelude drew . The nostalgia

Evervolv is completely new for me although it seems its history is going back to even 2013..... I only see one build at androidfilehost at the moment and website also not very up to date either.
Therefore my question; what can we expect?
Do we get daily, weekly, monthly updates and what are the key benefits of Evervolv?
Nice to see that op3 is still not forgotten btw, still a beast :good:

Ummm.... (*scratches head), I build this for my devices to use weekly, I'm not trying to buff this up to make it stand out. I do this for fun, adding features I find useful. Take it for a spin if you want to find the benefits.

You want screen shots, you can flash the ROM and take them. Its an aosp ROM (they all look the same).

Just to see features or battery stats man
Thanks for this excellent ROM, @elginsk8r!
Would you consider adding support for passing Safetynet out of the box (without stuff like Magisk) in the future? I believe it has something to do with the kernel reporting the bootloader as unlocked.

Could you please tell us if the rom passes safetynet out of the box? And also does it support encryption?
