So this junk in my photos showed up a few weeks ago and I thought it was maybe junk under the camera lens but I'm not sure.
I blew at the thing with compressed air but it didn't do anything.
Anyone have any ideas? You can see the problem with the image of a white sheet of paper, just to the left and below of middle.
It sucks cause it's almost in the middle of my pictures

Ya, it looks like something under the lens. There is a tut here someplace about how to replace the lens. It may help you to remove the lens, clean it, and reinstall it.

What do u mean vertical? U mean like after the photo is taken it shows sideways?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
Instead of turning the phone sideways to take pics you could do it verticaly sort of like the iPhone
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
the app may not turn but it still takes them in that orientation
Does yours save the picture in that orientation when I take a pic with the phone vertical it is sideways in the gallery
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
You can rotate the image in the gallery.
Anyways, I remember there being a miui camera app floating around. i wonder if it will work on this device.
Is there anyway to disable the softkey backlights? I've tried LEDs Hack and Screen Filter and neither work.

Very helpful. I know there's a way to do it even if no one's thought of it yet. If I have to I'll just desolder the LEDs and bridge the spaces. I'd rather do it with software though.
Or just like get electrical tape and cover it up itll still work

a little crude, but might work. I suppose I could trim it with an exact-o knife.
Its what I used to do, but I got over it so I just used a privacy guard screen protector and its kinda blocks it out too

Why do you wanna disable them? Are you a diehard battery saver?

it's a bit of a leap but there's film you can get to cover automotive lights. Maybe a clean rectangle or appropriate shape cut out can at least dim them some and be more durable and cleaner looking than tape. Heck... window tinting material might work. Although I don't know what these methods would do to any touch sensitivity. Ideally you would still see the lights, they would be dimmer and still function.
Here is some.pictures of the.problem I'm having
I don't know what is wrong with it. I was video calling with my friend, and I suddenly noticed the issue. I was using Tango. I thought something went wrong with the camera app, I did a factory reset. Bit it did not work. I reinstalled ICS, and it did not work as well. How could this even possible?
Thanks in advance.

What rom are you on.

Have you tried downloading a 3rd party camera app from the market and see if the problem still persists? If it does this with a different camera app also, I would suspect a hardware problem and would take the device back to at&t for exchange.

Omg. What did you install?
Or did it do that already?
What rom you on?
Samsung Galaxy s2 Nuclear Rocket - Embryo 3.2 [UCLE2 BASE]
iPhone 4S - Gave it away, not cool enough
iPhone 3GS - Went for a Swim
Dog - Custom Rom [Golden Retriever] [BEAR2 BASE]
This may be completely wrong, but those pics remind me of cartoon mode. In settings, what it's the shooting mode?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
that sucks...have you tried completely wiping everything a few times and flashing a stock rom and starting from scratch......looks bad good luck hope u get it straightened out
So for some reason my camera is always blurry now and will never focus even when it says its focusing. I tried cleaning the lense, that's not the problem. Any ideas for help?

When the camera is on, shake it. Does it rattle? Then your aperture (or whatever its called) is broken.

Something always rattles inside the phone for me. This is coming from testing 4 droid charges, 1 of them CLNR.
