Hi,
I've flashed CyanogenMod 10.1, and I love it except the battery life is not ideal.
What's a good CM 10.1 kernel?

Whatever works best for you every phone is different. Start trying them all out.
No answer as all phones, signal strength, users and apps installed are different

Hello ,
I have a Nexus S i 9023 and i have installed many different ROMs but I don't know which is the best . Please inform me about your opinion.
I am talking about ICS Roms and you can also post benchmarks to help me deside.
Now istalling GummyNex 0.7.7 I Will tell you what I think of it. Achter installimg of course. But it should have a lot of tweaks hand stuff!!

I think KANGY11 is the best. I've tried many but that one beats everthing. Try it with Glados 2.9 and you will have a excellent batterylife!

CyberGRv7 ICS Rom is MINT!!
I'd say CyberGR's v7 as well, have it on my own nexus, works like a charm
15½ hours on battery , still 74% battery left.
I'm agree. I use CyberGR V7. It's a great ROM. I've tested some another, but I have great battery/perf/functions with CyberGR.
I really like CyberGR v7. Has been pretty stable (I have not experienced any reboots or FCs), really fast and good battery life.

Have you upgraded to Apex 1.0.2 yet? I tried, but after flashing my wifi worked great but 3G would not connect.
It's hard to say "this ROM is best!" for anyone, it depends what your looking for in a ROM. If battery life is your main concern, I'd second CyberGR v7.
Performance? Personally I like Codename Android with matr1x kernel (mainly because of 1.46Ghz OC.)
Bugless petes for best of everything!

I'd give my vote to CyanogenMod 9 (v3.4 atm). Get it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399035. I used to use MIUI but switched to CM when ICS came out and have still not found a reason to search any further.
I've gone from CyberGR v7 to Oodie's MIUI and now on nuhetri v2.3.0.
I think MIUI is still a bit laggy, but it's coming through fast.
Nuhetri is working pretty good for me. A would still need to check battery life on it, but it's pretty fast!
Nuhetri or cna v1.4.0 ! I have cna atm with air kernel 3.3 overclocked to 1400mhz. soooo smooth! And batterylife is pretty good

Which rom are you talking about?
The best rom so far is cybergr with air kernel. Great battery and no lag

Hard to say which ROM is the best because they all have their pluses and minuses. Same can be said for kernels; each kernel will perform differently according to which ROM you choose. I'd suggest reading through the ROM ops and selecting the one you like based on features and theme. Once you've found a ROM you like, flash several different kernels to find one that is most compatible (also doesn't hurt to read kernel ops as well for feature details). This process, although a little more time consuming, will likely give you better results than relying on the objective opinion of others. Also, bedalas compiled some awesome reference guides on on room and kernel performance that's a must read for anyone looking to get the most out of their device.
You without me is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes
just rooted/unlocked, looking for something to flash. not looking for something with nightly builds, just want something faster that has everything working properly. phones a bit laggy right now, and was hoping to fix that (mostly dealing with messaging)
Well i recommend synergy even though it has nightly builds, it gets better every night
flashed synergy as my first s3 rom earlier this week.
Im really liking it.
Ive been looking at a couple others, but im happy with what I have right now. (r60 build)
Another vote for Synergy, here.

synergy is where it's at so far. until one of these JB builds are more stable.

I'm running Beans build 10 with lean kernel .5. I'd say it's pretty stable.
Running Synergy R64 from last night - holy awesome! My only issue is finding the right combo to get Google Wallet to work fully again. Have the prepaid card set up no problem, adding others - just sits and waits. When I flashed r60 I had to do a few tries (12) to find the right zip and build.prop settings to make everyone happy
another for synergy. just flashed earlier this week and currently on r64. for me it seems just as stable as stock with a bettery battery life and smoothness to spare.
I'm running CM10 and love it! Jelly Bean is awesome!

LOL exactly.
I flashed the root66 ROM ten minutes after the phone came out of the box (synergy was not out yet) & have never had any reason to flash any further (I have tried all the other ROMs except for CleanROM, but after testing I ALWAYS end up restoring a nandroid of the setup in my sig)
I debloated the setup totally. It is fast as hell, every single app etc. work perfectly, battery life is awesome etc.
running cleanrom. last time i checked synergy thread some had 4g issue.
I like it but has zero benefit from what i see to be rooted. gs3 in stock form is already fantastic.
i'd root to do nandroid backup but that's about it

Zero benefit?
Again, back to my previous argument. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
How about blocking ads and getting rid of the WiFi popups. That's reason enough to root for me...

Synergy is like running a better stock phone, it's amazing. The S3 is already so fast I've seen not much difference between it and a Jelly Bean system even stock.
What about stock rooted and the root checker verizon installed.... How do you block that on stock rooted?

You gotta be careful reading to much into the Synergy thread. I've dirty flashed every build from r23 with zero issues. I noticed a big performance increase with r23 but I got another big performance increase with r64! This phone is unbelievable right now and Ziggy is still working on more kernel magic.
I have not tried any other ROM since Synergy is performing so well.
P.S. I underclock my phone to 1350 with the XDA SetCPU.

Vote clean rom. Fast, smooth, good battery with clean kernel
Clean Rom + clean kernel was great for me.
i wanted to check Jelly Bean and I must say it's really good. Seems stable to me, I don't know if I could go back, JB is nice.
Hello all,
I am planning to change my kernel. But I am confused as to with what kernel I settle down. So seeking help of you community members.
I prefer kernel which has a nice performance and great battery life and that can work with majority of Roms including MIUI.
I heard that marmite latest version 7.3 is not stable. So if you suggest marmite then also please mention which version I download.
I am running on JB stock atm.
Thank you for reading.
Regards

if you got 5 people to respond you would get 5 different answers
you would still need to use the search function
[available on every page...] to find and READ information about each one
every phone is a little different in the way the hardware responds
no two folks use their phone the same
what works perfect for me might make your device reboot continuously
the short answer is that only you can determine what works best for you and your phone
stop trying to avoid the effort needed to expand your knowledge
use the search engine
I am not avoiding. I am just new to kernels hence asking. I did study a bit about kernels available. But asking as I don't want to miss out any good kernel.
Try out marmite, matrix, and air kernel.

Marmite its always a good start, them u should try others, but it seems that for Nexus S, besides all the little differences between devices Marmite is the one to rule them all.

Threads like this get closed as there isn't any rom that is best at anything. Even if we give you a rom suggestion you still have to do your part as battery life depends on how much you use your phone, ,what is running in the background and any other factors that might drain your battery.
Don't forget that beyond the ROM, battery life is dramatically affected by your settings, background apps that affect sleep state, and especially your Kernel selection and kernel settings.

OP, yes threads like this get closed due to the bashing/flaming....
The Best Stock base ROM, is just that....Stock. And there is nothing wrong with running Stock, with so many different apps that Users run/have, what is best battery life for you, may not be best for others...and as we know just because we have the same device/model does not mean we will have the same results.
Thanks....
Hey Guys,
What are everyone's favorite kernels and tweaks for Galaxy s4 running Cyanogenmod 10.2? Just trying to get a consensus. I downloaded KToonSez Kernel but I my phone started working a little off. I couldn't pin point it. I ended up installing the next nightly for 10.2 and KtoonSez was gone, which was a relief.
Anyway, please share if you guys have any advice on best kernels and tweaks, and even if you have any great apps to share.
Cheers!
In actually using CM 10.2-20130915 version with Swipe Pad app running smoothly. My only issue is that the radio signal bars are showing only one bar or no bars at all!!
