Fresh install and use motochopper to root, is your bootloader locked or unlocked?

Then you didn't root successfully.
Have you unlocked your bootloader?
Have you installed a custom recovery?
Have you flashed either SU or SuperSU?

Then you're rooted if you did all this. Otherwise, you forgot a step.
As of right now, there is no way of rooting a TF700 on the latest stock firmware, correct? I was reading through the All About the Infinity thread and there was a method listed but I'm not sure if it's been updated to reflect the latest OTA. Is there an official thread where an announcement will be made when a method of rooting has been discovered?

To root JB directly, you need to UNLOCK your device. If don't want to unlock then you have to downgrade back to ICS .30 in order to root.

Will there be a way to root without unlocking in the future?

Currently the only thing to get root in JB with locked bootloader is: downgrade to ICS, root, use OTA root keeper, run OTA upgrade manually.
A more direct way is only possible if someone discovers a new security hole in JB - if and when this will happen, is impossible to know.

Interesting but makes sense. Question tho, if you have unlocked, rooted, installed custom rom, AND also updated to ASUS newest boot loader can you get back to a locked or unlocked ICS state WITH the OLD boot loader ? I am sure I know the answer tho ... And sorry if this is considered a double post to my other one.
Cheers

From what I read in some other threads: you can downgrade to ICS 9.4.5.30, but not to the 9.4.5.26 bootloader.

yes, _that is correct, the only way you can go below .30 (back to .26...) is if you have a backup of your bootloader using NVflash.
Rooting question
I have the latest firmware update, running STOCK jelly bean, NOT unlocked and NOT rooted. If I use the ASUS unlock tool, will that unlock my tf700 and root it? And then I can just flash custom recovery and load CleanROM.. correct? Coming from samsung vibrant, galaxy nexus, nexus 7 and tf101 here.

No, unlock is just unlock, you need to do root separately. Follow this threads, he's doing the same things you're doing

You say that for root, the device has to be downgraded first. Isn't it the same for unlocking? Is it possible to unlock JB without downgrading to ICS?

I'm by no means a pro at this, but from my research, you no longer need to downgrade to ICS. This is a pretty old thread. There is an unlock tool now available for JB

Just got my replacement unit and it came with 4.1.1. Am I safe to start rooting or do i need to check bootloader?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Rooting is independent of the bootloader.
Ok. In terms of unlocking and changing the Rom I'd have to verify bootloader or is 4.1.1 only shipped with 1 bootloader?

With the original firmware (before unlocking and installing custom stuff), the bootloader version is always the same as your firmware build (10.4.x for Android 4.1).
Before you install a 4.2-based custom ROM you must update your bootloader to 10.6.x and install a compatible recovery (e.g. TWRP 2.5 or 2.6).

Ok thanks. I used Motochopper to get root just now. To unlock bootloader does it matter whether I go to 4.2 first? If either way it reaches out to Asus what's the difference?

On Asus' website it says the Unlock Tool is only for ICS firmware, which is incorrect. You can use it just fine on any JB firmware.
So no, it does not matter if you upgrade to JB 4.2.1 first. But you will loose root though and have to use Motochopper again to regain it.

As I mentioned, I rooted my tf700t and installed stock non-rooted 4.2.1 JB rom from Asus' site. But now I need to root the device again. I tried to do this with Motochopper but it said that root is already exists in my device.
How can I handle with this ?
Thank you from now for all response.

Motochopper can't root the latest .10 update. I think you can go to .8, root with motochopper and then use voodoo ota rootkeeper to keep root via ota update.

sbdags meant the 10.6.1.14.10 firmware. Motochopper only worked up to 10.6.1.14.8.
One way to get root on .10 is to downgrade to .8, root with Motochopper, use Voodoo Rootkeeper to backup your root and then let the tablet upate to the latest .10 firmware by accepting the OTA update from Asus (which you should get by checking for system updates from Settings), then restore root with Voodoo Rootkeeper.
A little easier is to use Kingo Android Root. It will root the .10 firmware, but it only works on Windows I think.

Hi, there.
I came from a Samsung device, I'm used to flash the stock firmware when a official update was out then root the device again.
I have a brand new Moto G3, locked and unrooted. If I do the process of unlock the bootloader and rooted the device will I able to flash a stock firmware and receive the Android 6.0 once it is out?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, as long as you unroot before the update. I use SuperSU for my root and use the SuperSU app to fully unroot before I update.
Just reflash the stock rom and relock your bootloader. You would be able to receive all official updates from Motorola.

Is supersu works in unrooting
Just fully unroot and then flash the stock firmware, relocking doesn't matter. I'm looking at you @kaustubh_lipare.
