Anyway to get the notification leds/button lights to flash when a text received on 2.3.3 like it does on cm7?
EDIT: found this, works perfectly.

There is an app in the Market called LG 2X/Black/3D Notifications that works with the G2X. It worked without root with 2.2 but apparently it requires root with 2.3.3 due to some changes LG made to the phone.

Thanks. i thought it just my phone.
Hi, I'm new here and I this is my first droid, so i need some help. I have done an extensive search and looks like I'm the only one with this problem.
I've rooted my g2x (2.3.3), etc, installed the notification led, change permissions to rw-rw-rw (sys/devices/plataform/star_touch_led/wled), so far so good. But when I reboot (turn off/turn on) the phone my permissions get back to rw-rw-r. So every time I turn on the phone I have to change it manually.
What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something? Phone problem?

Well for one, when you install the app there's no need to change its permission like that. Maybe that's why it switches back after a reboot..

That's on Froyo.
On gingerbread, this app doesn't work that way. If I dont change the permissions it will never work. It's like when I turnoff/turn on the phone the permissions get back to "factory data reset".
Anyone with the same problem?

Well, finally it's solved. Dunno how, but the permissions doesn't' change anymore. Thank anyway.

Do you have the latest version from the Market. It detects whether or not the file is readable and asks you if it can make changes, and then gets superuser permissions. It must set the file settings every time the phone boots. If you do have the latest version try going into the program interface itself and see if there are options for this. If you cannot find them, simply uninstall the program (delete its data first) and then reinstall it. The first time you run it the program should go through whatever it needs to do to get su permissions, etc. You must be rooted on GB for this app to work.
I am rooted, I know how to use that apparently but fir some reason it doesn't detect anymore. But I got a modified version from the Dev and it skips the detection part. The dev said he figured out why it was doing it. Might be an update or something ..

It will flash...but don't expect video (and whatever else it breaks) to work...
It is based off of the latest AT&T leak so it has to have the stock kernel for everything to work.
Yes any Infuse modem will work.
Fonts
Are there any fonts or themes for this rom? I was under the impression it was based on MIUI, and could therefore be customized. the only MIUI element I see is the lockscreen manager. Am i missing something?
Its a work in progress, give it time, Nop seems to have a lot in store for his new Rom!

After flashing, Superuser is disappeared from App drawer and become "unrooted" but superuser is already installed as reported by Market.
Uninstall and reinstalling, no problem but still now shown in App Drawer and reported "unrooted" whenever useing apps which need root access..
Tried re-root with SOC, stuck with the messeage "waiting for device" and would not be continued..
Any idea ??

Odin/heimdall flash a custom kernel. then download the su updater for cwm I think the link is in the open of caty rom or something. reflash the rom (sometimes su gets corrupt and causes all sorts of issues, best to format /system and reinstall the rom for good measure) and flash the su updater immediately after. make sure you do this before a reboot and that voodoo is disabled on your phone. there should be a folder on the root of the SD card named "Voodoo" the V is capital and in that rider should be a text file or folder named "disable-lagfix" if this is not there before you flash the voodoo/cwm enabled kernel and lagfix gets enabled you must disable it and reboot before you flash the rom.
this leak is really secure, you need the custom "insecure" kernel to root it and there seems to be an issue with the build of bionix causing people problems. read the thread but don't get too confused on all the different advice.
also if you can use heimdall I posted a heimdall flashable dump from my phone in the bionic thread. it already has updated superuser and su.

no Voodoo exists but the disable-lagfix file/folder doesn't. it is usually a file but if you create it as a folder it works.
if you have no Voodoo folder you should create it as well as the disable-lagfix to speed up the process and avoid issues. or you can install bionix from my heimdall package. your choice.
I cant tell fron the screenshots....does this rom have the lockscreen that allows you to choose unlock, phone, sms, or camera?

I notice quite a bit of lag after trying the included adfree apk.
You can try uninstalling adfree from tibu
If that doesn't work, you may have to try to figure out how to fix permission, wipe dalvik and wipe cache.

Hows battery life on new version?

I just installed this rom ontop of the old V2 bionix iv been running for months, figured it was about time I upgraded lol. Iv been playing with it a bit, and am getting used to the new layout. Maybe this is intentional but where did the battery info and pulldown task bar ontop go? Also some things seem to be not fitted to the screen correctly, like my contacts list and the lock screen is cutoff 3/4 way thru the clock on bottom. Ill keep playing with the settings when I wakeup I just wanted to check I didnt miss something or install it wrong, like a lingering file between the 2 versions caused an incompatibility. Other then that its pretty sexy sofar
Odd.
In the original firmware I was able to edit build.prop to change my dpi to 120 but now I cannot. It won't save any changes. Also, I tried pasting an .apk into my /system/app folder and it blocked me. Then I tried pushing it with adb and it gave me a read-only error.
I know I am rooted - can run Titanium Backup, etc.
Anyone have any idea?

Did you try another root explorer?
Root explorer can be finicky.
Also try clearing it out of super su and and reallowing it. Or wipe app data.
But from my experience with root explorer, I have always hated it!! Try File Manager HD, It is great and has root explorer and system mountable all the time

Downloaded File Manager HD. Tried replacing the Snotes.apk. No dice. All attempts do do anything with that .apk fail. Seems pretty well locked down.
Same thing with build.prop. No changes will save.

I was wondering if you have resolved this issue because im having the same problem now. Do you recall doing anything that may have caused this issue? Everything for me started going heywire once i installed init.d support just a second ago. I Can r/w and r/o in certain parts of the system but i cant paste anything anywhere. I also noticed increase cpu load afterwards. Might i add this is the second time i have had these issues after installing init.d support script. The way i solved this the first time was i had to odin stock firmware and this solved everything. Id like to refrain from doing this again though because ill loose all my stuffs and have to set everything up again.

How did you achieve root? In other threads, problems with write access to /system are reported when a rooted firmware was flashed. Only the method with CWM (install CWM, flash SuperSU) did work.

Oh the first time i rooted with the CWM method. But the second time, i did odin a rooted firmware Now that i think about it, the first time i was able to write to /system but now i can't after a rooted firmware flash. So the init.d script wasnt the problem. I just made an assumption because before, i havent touched anything in /system but when i installed init.d script it was actally the first time i tried to edit /system after the rooted firmware. So yes looks like im going to have to odin a stock non-rooted firmware. Thanks man! Makes alot of since now.
edit: couldn't i just try the cwm method and see it it overwrites, cause the only UEALGB firmware i can find is prerooted. I don't want to switch to UEALH2.

Try Root Explorer(or ES File Explorer) & enable R/W for system files
Check your SuperSU/Superuser app.
See if your access is granted & not denied.
If SuperSU/Superuser asking for update, update it (usually binary update)
If your SuperSU/Superuser is gone, re-install it from Play Store & run it for the first time to update binary.
Retry modifying your system file(s)

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I ran TWRP fix permissions (which finished instantly, and I can't tell if it fixed anything), then Rom Manager, which fixed a ton of permissions and took a long time to run. I wonder if TWRP fix permissions even works, or uses different criteria to decide if a file/folder needs its permissions fixed. Anyway, why did ROM manager find it necessary to fix so many permissions? I wonder if it was detrimental to my system.

nope, nothing wrong with resurrecting if the question is still relevant, it just proves u searched and veterans like myself are more likely to help
TWRP fix permissions does work, and amazingly so. ROM manager just takes so much longer it actually seems like twrp is doing nothing, but there was a commit awhile back made to the code to change the way it does it to make the process more effective. ROM manager just sucks at it
Thanks for the explanation. I just ran TWRP fix permissions and though it didn't work because it took only a couple of seconds and went and installed ROM manager. I guess it goes out again.

Root Explorer. Have to set it to R/W before doing the edit. It may be that the system is mounted as read only in the app you're using. You may have to change it in the settings of the app you're using. In Root Explorer, there's a small button. Upper right side of the screen while viewing the folders. If the system is mounted R/O, it'll say "mount R/W". Press on it and then do the edit.
You do have to be rooted for it to work though.

Are you rooted? If so, check your superuser app to see if Root Explorer has root permissions. Also, if it's still set to 5 when you reboot, is the backup file there or not? If not, it sounds like a root problem of some sort to me.

I can't get it to work either. Change stuck even after reboot ?
Yes. But, you need to click on that button that says mount r/w before you do the edit. If you do that and it still doesn't work, something isn't right with your root.
Are you permanently rooted or are you using weak sauce for root? If the latter, the changes won't stick if you do a normal reboot. Rebooting is necessary for the setting to take effect. With weak sauce, you have to do a hot reboot for things to stick. Things will only stick if you do a hot reboot. A normal reboot will result in your change or changes reverting back to the original meaning you'll have to do it over again. It'll work as long as you only hot reboot. If you're using weak sauce for root, you really should consider getting permanently rooted.
This worked, thanks!
Ahhhh ok makes sense. Yea I'm only weak sauce rooted so I'll get it permanently rooted then
