can you root 2.3.6 android version ?worth it ?

hello all here i am new in this forum and i would like to ask and have your help ...
also i am new in rooting an android ...
i have search on internet and i think the latest vesrion of rooting a device is 1.5-1.6 or from 2.0-2.2
my android is model of samsung galaxy y GT-B5510 2.3.6 and i am wondering is it worth it to root it back on 2.2 or ... i dont know, you better and also how i can root it cos i believe for each model there is a different way or is preety much the same for all android phones ... ?

I've got samsung y pro GT-B5510 ver.2.3.6
That Theat worked for me!!and it was sooo easy!!
Maybe you did something wrong...

Do a search upon "SuperOneClick" (without quotes, of course) here on XDA. Read the thread's discussions, and especially the compatibility list. If your rig is supported, learn what there is said about, and do it. Success!

If I am not mistaken it is already rooted. Just install Superuser or similar to check it

hello mate!
just install any superuser software from playstore and also download any busybox installler from playstore too
after these 2 installs you have it ready to use any rooted software

Today I need you help to root my tab . I Google around for hours and I can't get any root guides or something like that .
Now I realised that my tab is totally unknown for google !

Tested apps(not working for me) : z4root ,Framaroot

Try Vroot..its chinese it Definatly works.... any device CAn be rooted with this software....

My tablet is almost same as yours.But now due to some software problems , i am unable to turn it on.Can you please share your tablet details (like model number,if its allwinnner and its version).I need to download the firmware and its impossible without model number or any other details.

Dear All,
I have IKON -IK-7216 tablet. I want unlock the boot loader and i have tried i root, king root, kingo root but nothing happen. the reason i'm trying to root my tablet for use dedicated car GPS and other access. the programme will enable the tablet boot automatically and shutdown while i start my car and off. To write the programme i need to unlock the boot loader.
Can any one help me out to shot out this issue ?

it s an old one running with android 4.0.4
I m not pro in computer but i can manage to do it
SOftwares i find in guides are often out of date and the guides are quite old

the firmware on your tab is just as old, if not older than the guides, so in some sense they're brand new
