For those on Telus rooted using AOSP rom - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi everyone,
I'm currently using an S3 and rooted using AOSP roms. However, I am having a lot of LTE issues as my phone usually just gets H+ or G, it only connects to LTE very rarely.
To those of you using CM10 or other AOSP roms on your HTC one X on Telus, do you lock on to LTE regularly and have no issues with it? This is my biggest gripe with my S3... If you guys are happy with your LTE performance, I am really considering switching over to a One X. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Rogers HOX on ATT

Just wanted to confirm if you can use the Rogers HOX on att without att noticing as a smartphone. I am currently on a unlimited media net plan and want to use it on the same plan.

Tried and received a text from art. So the answer is no. You don't get lye with the medianet plan anyways. So I would highly recommend to upgrade your plan.

Thanks I don't need lte on the phone. Hspa+ is fine with me. Just checking if possible use of media net with these new phones.

Very weird LTE issue

I am using AT&T One X now, and I signed up a 4G LTE 2 year contract. However, my phone only gets to HSPA+ but not LTE. I've tried different ROMs, flashing radio, choosing the network type(changing into “LTE only” will only cause no signal), etc... None is working.
Any ideas? I live in Diamond Bar, which there are lots of hills and low mountains... Will the signal be a possible cause for the LTE fail?
LTE can be finnicky with signal, but what APN are you currently using?
Are you sure that your city has lte not every city has it yet.

This. It's the most obvious answer but it's probably it.
I live near diamond bar and I get LTE everywhere I go, granted I don't go there..

With the att ruu, the apn is locked and there is only one. So it is definitely the correct apn. With other roms, I tried all apns but none worked.

Since LTE runs on such a low frequency, if you are even a little outside of coverage area, on the fringe, or in low-lying areas, its very possible that you simply dont get LTE coverage. have you tested or witnessed any other LTE devices functioning in your area?

That is true, but you won't necessarily have LTE data unless you've called customer service and had them activate it for your plan.

Simple Mobile is T-Mobile, And the HTC One X only supports the Edge frequency on T-Mobiles towers. I heard that some areas are getting 3g that are compatible with the HTC One X's 3g bands but thats dependent on area.
I do have apn from simple mobile and it only says edge

Dude I'm with h2o if you haven't Hurd of it its an alternative of At&t just as simplepbile is t-mobiles. H2O don't need no unlock code...also its $60 unlimited everything. Also 4G speeds. It's great. It's awesome. I love it.

[Q] Radio Question

I've got an AT&T straight talk sim in my i9020t and can only get an edge connection, from what I can tell it looks like I need a Tmobile sim. I read about an SII that you could flash a radio that would make it work though, anyone know anything about this? I'd rather try flashing some before I order a new sim.
I've heard that too about the GSII, but I'm afraid the situation is different for the nexus s. Your I9020T's 3g radio will only work on tmobiles frequencies; the hardware's reception capabilities cannot be changed by flashing something.
Now, I'm not familiar with the sim you currently have in, BUT, if that network uses the same frequencies as T-Mobile, all you need to do is adjust your APN's.
I'd look up the frequencies for you, but I'm off to class..
Let my know how it goes/what you find!

Thanks I'll see what I can find.

I'm pretty sure that he's right about being stuck on the edge with at&t. 3g frequency only on tmobile. You would need a pentaband phone like the gnex to get both carriers 3g or hpsa+

Yep, at&t 3g frequencies are not the same as T-Mobile frequencies. You definitely need a T-Mobile sim for your i9020T

You shouldn't have to configure apn at all. And what do you mean by 4g? HSDPA+ or LTE??

I don't know what makes you say that, plenty of people have to mess around with their apn settings.

Reason why is that go phone since they allow iPhone and LTE phones use the same apn settings as postpaid. Every ROM I flash I never had to configure data

Just switched to GoPhone from T-Mobile. LTE working fine without any additional configuration.
