The best way to get the proper apn settings is to call the provider. They will tell you what they are. It may be faster than waiting for a response from someone here.

This is true. But AT&T's apn, should be all over Google. Plus, most of the time, when calling tech support, they have no clue what APNs are, are they may refer to what they have in their systems (BROADBAND, PHONE, PDPWAP1, PTA, etc).

well all I want is to set it to simple mobile

So call them and ask for their apn settings. It seems no one here knows what they are. You can try to Google it too.

Noo,why does need this? If my provider does not suport my dwvice there is asolution?

I have been having problems with my mms since I first received my Nexus. MMS take 3 days to send and downloading mms gets stuck at downloading and never opens. I did some research and from what I understand it has something to do with your APN settings, try searching for the correct APN settings for your area and provider. APN settings can be found in ---> SETTINGS>WIRELESS&NETWORKS>MOBILE NETWORKS>
ACCESS POINT NAMES
** I have yet to fix my MMS issues, if you find something I would love to know

Yea, I don't know if re-flashing the ROM would be of any use. Some people argue that MMS only work if you have a data plan with your provider, but I've read otherwise as well. I've also heard of Nexus users getting more up-to-date sim cards and that fixed their issues, maybe worth a try? You might want to give your provider a call and ask them for the correct APN settings or at least explain your problem to them and see if they offer any assistance.

[Q] App scheduler?

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to set schedules to open other apps, after an event. Such as receiving a message, or missing a phone call.
I believe I read somewhere that such app does exist, but after searching for days, I've had no luck.
Any help is appreciated!

Have you tried this on your phone? I have this installed and I can't seem to get it work. If it matters, I am using cleanROM lite. I tried creating different tasks and stuff and none of them worked. I would appreciate the help..

I use it on my phone and it works. Please read this topic, they provided in depth tutorial on tasker.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14438638
First try some basic tasks provided in tasker website and check if they are working.
Can you tell use what tasks you created, so that anyone here can further debug your problem

Not receiving LTE..

Just kinda wondering if anyone else had this issue and if there's a fix. I went from CM9 to rebel sense (I think that's the rom?) And first noticed I no longer have LTE and now I'm on paranoidandroid, long story short someone else has 4G in the exact same spot I'm in and I'm stuck on HSPA+
I've restored to cm9 and done a basic wipe still no luck, is there anything else that can be done?

Nvm this thread can be closed, I just restored stock rom and I'm seeing the icon again, although its being a tad slow still.

It might have been that you needed to manually enter your operator's APN settings.
I'm pretty sure on some roms hspa+ means LTE

Anyway you could post the APN settings on this thread or link me a thread if you know where it is? I've looked in Q&A and I'm not seeing a sticky or a title about APN. I'm in Houston right now and speeds are terrible. Much appreciated! :highfive:

What's an MMS

Seriously.. I haven't been able to receive one with my One X.. At least not on a custom ROM.

It doesn't work on any ROM. I don't even know if it worked when I was stock/unrooted..
Maybe AT&T did something when they upgraded my 3G to 4G LTE..?
MMS requires a data connection. Even when on wifi, it will engage your cellular data connection. If you disable mobile data they won't send or receive. Also check your APN settings, there are settings specific for the MMS routing.
Everything above the screen shot should be blank.
If that doesn't fix it, give AT&T a call.

Is it only that person, can you send one to yourself?
If that won't send or download I would call att and have them check.

Can't send to anyone, Can't receive from anyone.
Call AT&T, they can reset your phone....had to do this last night.
They will ask you to shut it off and then power it up, they will get it registered again on the mobile network.
Be sure to call technical support not customer support.
Good Luck!
Check within the Messaging app (or 3rd party messaging app, if you are using one) that the MMS size is set low enough. On ViperXL, mine had to be set to 300 kb in order to send a picture. I think AT&T's network limit is 600 kB. Custom ROMs sometimes have the limit set much higher, and a pic simply won't go if its set over AT&T's limit.
But this would only explain why pics can't be sent. They should still be received ok.

MMS Issue, Can't send picture messages

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why I can't send picture MMS messages on this ROM (I'm using Bruce's 4.1.2 Kang JB ROM, 11/23 BUILD). I've checked all of the APN settings for T-mobile US, and everything looks fine but I can't send a picture. Can someone please give me some guidance? I have searched, and can't fix this issue. Any suggestions?
I can receive picture MMS. When I try to send it just sits there and says "sending" but does not send. I have no issues sending regular MMS.
Thanks!

Hi,
I find with JB ROMS that I always have to make a separate APN for my MMS.
So,I delete all the APN's in the list, and just keep the 2 I need.
One for data, and one for MMS.
I'm not sure there is a way to enable two APN's in this ROM. I can certainly add an APN, but it appears I can only choose one to be active. Maybe I don't understand how it works, but I'd like to figure it out.

Hi,
That is how you do it.
Have 2 APN's with the main data one selected.
Thanks! I'll try that approach.

So, I created an APN specifically for MMS, but its still not working. I still can't send MMS. Today, I even updated to the newest version of Bruce's ROM. Any other suggestions?

Does anyone have any ideas? I still can't solve this mystery, and could really use some help.
Thanks!

The ROM isn't broken, so the problem must be on your end. Rather than figuring out what has gotten screwy in your set up, it might be easier just to do a full wipe and fresh install. It should only take 15 minutes. And if something has just gotten screwed up in your install ( which can happen) a full wipe and fresh install should cure it.
I can't imaging its a hardware issue if everything else works.

Maybe you need to add a proxy for the APN settings. Over in the UK the carrier 02 has 2 different types of APN settings, one with and one without the proxy. You can try add/remove it and see how you get on. And for the record I use only one APN and get data +MMS

Well, I tried a full wipe and fresh install. Still having the same issue. I did the whole factory reset and wiped everything. I'm not sure what to do now. Any ideas?

I finally resolved this issue. I downloaded the GoSMS app and manually input the APN settings. Once I did that, I was able to send picture MMS.
