Verizon S3 4.2.2 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I was wondering if anyone knew of a ROM that is 4.2.2 and is just the basics, I tried Liquid Smooth 2.1 but I hated all the settings that you can change. Anyone that could point me in the right direction please do so.
Thanks!

Cm10.1 is for you.

That still has a bunch of settings there is a ROM called Pure Google that is unmodified Android. I have yet to see a basic 4.2.2 AOSP ROM they all have been modified to a degree the ROM I have mentioned is 4.2.1

I still think cm10.1 would be the best bet. Its got some settings but they're just handy, stuff like toggles. Plus 10.1 is Gina have recent fixes and such. And honestly I think he official nightlies are your best bet.

Yeah. Cm10.1 is a lot less stuff. Also to get really good battery life and performance, I'd recommend Leankernel 5.3.4exp1.

Give Slim Rom build 3 a try. It's really nice and smooth and PURE AOSP. I really liked how smooth and stable it was, I just missed all the touchwiz features so I didn't end up keeping it. Was a very nice ROM though. Give it a shot.
It's very nice if your looking for vanilla Android.

Yeah sorry the predictive texting on swiftkey is overkill sometimes. Lol. The Slim Rom doesn't have any touchwiz features at all. It's pure AOSP. If you want a good touchwiz based Rom try jelly beans. I have also heard that Synergy and clean Rom are some of the nest touchwiz based Roms out there, though i haven't tried them.

I would recommend to use the official ROM. CM 10 can have many bugs.

CM 10.1 or Carbon, carbon has a little more features

Slim Rom is not even close to pure AOSP. There are innumerable features added, which is why I love it.
There's one pure AOSP ROM, and it's maintained by Joelz. Hadn't been updated since mid January, but is supposedly about to be soon.
But I agree, the OP should go with CM10.1.

Just switched from ios to droid

Hey everybody I just switched to DROID from using ios the past 4 years and I'm really happy with my choice. The iPhone 5 was the last straw for me so instead I picked up a feature packed galaxy siii. I want to thank you guys for the tutorials you guys have posted as it really helped in understanding how to flash the custom roms. I have my siii set just how I want. I just have one question if someone doesn't mind answering. When the official jellybean update comes out will I need to revert back to stock rom to update or can I update ota on a custom rom? Please excuse me if I didn't post this in the right section. This is my first post. Thanks for all your hard work.
I believe you would have to revert to stock and then do the ota.

Just wait for one of the Devs to do their magic on Jelly bean when it comes out. I'm sure it wont take them to long to do.
Congrats! Btw, if you're already running a custom rom, then you should probably just wait until the developer updates it, or install a new JellyBean rom when you're ready.

It kinda depends on how long you are willing to wait for the update. You definitely won't be able to accept the OTA update if you are running a custom rom, but devs will have a flashable version on XDA available almost immediately after the official is released. A couple of days later custom roms will start appearing.
Another reason to wait is there is always the possibility that the update will in some way disable root. This has happened before with several VRZ phones. So I would wait(a couple of hrs) till XDA gets their hands on the update before making any moves.

wait for a dev to release the official TouchWiz JB, then wipe data from cwm recovery and flash away. Fyi there currently is a TouchWiz JB leak by Incubus in the dev section, but its has bugs...If your looking for stability; Touchwiz ICS>AOSP(paranoidandroid,aokp,cm10)>Touchwiz JB Leak
And to help you, Synergy is a very stable ICS touchwiz ROM. Paranoid is a very great ROM but it might be a bit confusing for you since you're new with the tablet mod n tweaking APKs and such. CM10 is good but I like AOKP better for the customization

Welcome to the Android community!
There are lots of good ROM choices and Jelly bean is available as a teaser if you'd like to check it out
My favorite ICS ROM is Synergy
My favorite JB ROM is Jellywiz
Enjoy and happy flashing !!!
You can make a nandroid backup of your current setup which saves everything, all your data/games. and try one of the current JB roms. I am currently on ICS cleanrom, and been thinking about waiting for a 100% working one to come around. The nandroid backup is so you can easily go back to your old setup if you don't like the newer rom.

No such thing, as vanilla android is unaltered, i.e. the nexus devices.
I would say that cyanogen mod is probably as close as you'll get. Aokp is close too but has much more customization options.

There isn't one. Use cm10 and don't use the customization. Also you will not have the s3 features like motion controls, camera, etc.
You're best bet is to try a couple out and find what works for you.

I'm gonna work on building vanilla JB rom as soon as the semester ends......don't have enough time till then :\ Should be convenient timing as a lot of the leg-work is already complete
I've already started working on one, but its not looking very promising so far. Its really really difficult getting the build to cooperate, and then once I finally do get it to cooperate thenaybe it won't take too long to get some of the initial kinks ironed out so people can start testing. But at least if I cannot get the bugs worked out enough to post it for people to use there is someone else who will begin working on it shortly. So hopefully we will have a pure AOSP ROM soon, one way or another.

The most stable ROMs I have found are clean rom for TW. Scott UK so always one of the first to update to new builds. As far as AOSP, I really like Liquid Smooth. Really quick, light weight and one of the few 4.2.2 ROMs with the ability to save pics directly to the SD card, which for me is a deal breaker if not included.

If you are looking for stable and reliable avoid nightlies. I have found slim rom, rootbox, carbon and liquid to all be extremely stable if you stick to their "stable" releases. The nightlies will give you cutting edge features but those features will introduce bugs and quirks as well.
For me, every time I get off Slim I end up back on it within a week. Love it.

Lightest Rom?

Hi.
My Nexus S is kinda slow now and it cam be embarrassing sometimes.
I only use my phone for Google music, Tunein radio, podcasts, email and basic internet.
I was looking the other day to see what was eating my memory up and I noticed things that I don't use any more like twitter apps and stuff that I will never use like Google play books and play movies.
I am rooted and using a tweaked kernel, but I'm still using stock ROM. I think this weekend that will change.
I'm not interested in overclocking, just a little bit more quickness and stability.
Can anyone recommend a good kernel and ROM combo.
Kernel must have voodoo sound.
Cheers.

If you want blazing fast rom try Metal Dragon Overlord, only drawback it's 4.1.2, if you want 4.2.2. rom try Hellybean or CM10.1 nightlies.
Pretty much every kernel's got voodoo sound so that's nothing to worry about.

Hi,
Initially I was looking forward to a 4.2.2. ROM but I have read comments about lag after a week or so of using those ROM's. So I may just stick with a 4.1.2. ROM.
Looking for something that I can flash and forgot, something very mature that I can keep on my phone for the next year without thinking about it or getting reboots. Don't want to be flashing a new version every day.
Cheers.

This is the closest, or one of the closest, to a stock 4.2.2 ROM you can get and it's light, no bloatware. Also if you're using a 4.2.2 ROM, you these mods as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158329

Im running PA 4.3 right now and its fine for a DD. The camera can be a bit weird but it works fine 95% of the time. Battery life is amazing running LK. I thought I would have to flash back to TW, but I think im staying with PA for a while.

I figured that would be the one problem if there was any, but that's just how it goes I guess. Thanks for the input. Would you say besides the camera issue, 4.3 is have a noticeable difference that's better than 4.1 and 4.2?

4.3
Any increase in performance?
Sorry guys, this is the first time i've ever run an ASOP rom so I can't tell you about 4.2. I was TW since day one. I was fed up being so far behind in updates that I had to try something. Did my research and decided on PA. The differences I have found are mainly app side. More integration and fluidity between apps and tasks. No reboots or any major bugs have come up. I like the stock android feel. I miss the TW camera but I have a feeling a mod will come around for 4.3.
I'm on PAC man 4.3 and it is so sweet

What's the name of the camera app? I'm thinking about going to this ROM from CM10.1, but I want a good camera.
