Hi guys,
I've been running Paranoid Android 3 for the last few weeks without issue. Tablet was working fine last night, went to bed with it plugged in. Get up this morning to find that it won't come on. Holding power by itself the screen will come on, but it sits at the PA boot screen perpetually. It's been drawing that multi-colored splash screen for the past 20 minutes.
If I hold Vol Down + Power the tablet vibrates, but the screen never comes on, so I can't even get into recovery it seems.
No changes have been made to it in weeks. Anyone have suggestions?
Update: Plugged into a PC Volume Down + Power still does nothing, but Volume Up + Power gets me to the RCK menu where I can choose Cold Boot Linux, USB, or Wipe Data. Cold Boot Linux does nothing but sit at the splash screen as it has been. Should I try a data wipe?
Also, choosing the USB symbol appears to get me into Fastboot. Device Manager is showing it as Asus Android Bootloader Interface.

What steps would I take to try that? I'm able to get Windows to detect the device as Bootloader as mentioned in the edit of my original post. Sorry if that's a stupid question, but this tablet is much different than anything I've done to root/unlock any of the phones I've had.

Okay when I hold Volume Up and Power I get "Checking for RCK, press Volume Up to enter RCK. At that point if I press Volume Up I get three icons: Wipe Data, Fastboot USB, and Cold Boot Linux.
Cold Boot Linux just keeps trying to load Paranoid Android. Fastboot USB gives me an Asus Android Bootloader Interface device in Windows Device Manager.
What should I do from here?
Appreciate it, by the way.

That is strange, strange, it sounds to me you dont got a recovery installed. Are you unable to get into the boot loader holding the volume down and power button, meaning if you hold it as the ASUS logo is, its the volume key pointing towards the power button?

I was able to flash a new copy of Clockwork through Fastboot then cleared cache/dalvik, reflashed the same ROM zip and it's booting again. Phew!
It's like recovery just stopped working. I had Clockwork 6.0.1.4 before and flashed the same thing this time. Really strange.
Thanks again for the responses.

Hi,
As the title says, I can't get into recovery. I rooted and installed CWM a few weeks ago (still on 3.1), and now when I press vol- and power buttons the tablet just boots up normally. It does another weird thing, too. If I press only on either of the volume keys, it also boots up.
I'm suspecting a FUBAR'd CWM install, but I'm not sure since I'm no expert.
Also, adb no longer sees the tablet. Typing adb devices shows nothing, and it used to work (otherwise how did I root, right?)
Any ideas on what I have to do? Nvflash a stock blob or whatever it's called?
Did you either intentionally or not run the OTA update? If you OTA'd after cwm - then you will need to unbrick/nvflash. You're behavior sounds a lot like mine, after I tried to OTA a cwm enabled transformer.

For the cwm thing: first of all, with your tablet turned on, try if the VOL UP and VOL DOWN keys are working. Then turn it off.
Press VOL DOWN + POWER until you see a little write on the upper left corner, then release all and press VOL UP.
For adb: turn on your tablet and connect it to your pc. On the screen of the tablet click on the icon of asus sync in the lower right corner then click on the popup. It will search for asus sync on your computer (have you installed it, right?). From that moment on, adb should work normally.
Hope this has helped.
Thanks! adb worked. Still can't get into recovery. I think it's borked, because I used "adb reboot recovery" and the tablet just rebooted normally.
Any more ideas??

Maybe that's it. I'll try it...didn't want to, because I don't want to wipe anything. This nice device of ours is so much more complicated than my SGS
Try this app, if CWM is installed correctly it should work. Cheers.

Thanks! CWM was definitely broken, probably because I attempted OTA update.
So I went and used the guide in the nvflash unbricking thread, and since that guide installs Prime 1.4, I went ahead and updated to 1.7. Now I'm rooted, cwm'ed and prime'd!!!!

I just got my TF300 on Wednesday, and it decided to get stuck on the boot screen.I have rooted, but NOT unlocked this transformer. I do NOT have CWM, or any working access to ADB and fastboot.Using the Power + Vol Down for the RCK results in an Android on its back with a Red Exclamation. Continuing on past the RCK Screen, it gives two options (No USB Icon), one to wipe and one to cold boot Android. Neither have those has worked. I also let the TF300 completely drain itself, and fully recharged and still has not worked. Windows 7 reports that the TF300 as an "Asus Android MTP Device", but giving an error code of 10, which is "The device cannot start". I have not seen any ADB devices either.
I also have tried to put the latest firmware (.30) onto a microSD card, and booting into all the available options with nothing working.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to at least get ADB and/or fastboot running?

Only option without FB and ADB is choose wipe with Vol- and the press Vol+ to do the wipe.
Then try reboot.
But you should have ADB at least. We will try out that later.

I have already tried that, but it just ends up being stuck on the boot.
Also, I would like to know if the filename should be the same as the TF700 for the FW update.
EDIT: The filename should be the same! It did actually work how it was specified. I'm on the boot screen waiting for the progress bar to finish, but it looks promising.
Appreciate the help guys!
Edit 2: Well she boots up perfectly now, I just need to do it again because its in Chinese, so I made a mistake somewhere.. anyways, Thanks for the help!
TF300T - No unlock , No root
1.Shutdown your tablet
2. Hold Power + Vol Down until a message appears ("Press Vol. Up to enter RCK (5s)")
3. Press Vol Up .
4. Android Rebot laying down (red lable)
Please help.
Cannot into RCK. Need install Recovery or not?
Thanks
Well, what are you trying to do?
If you want to install a custom ROM or a custom recovery, you need to unlock your device first.
When running stock ROM, why do you need recovery?
If you have issues with stock ROM ASUS support should be helpful.

If you have stock ROM and you hold power+Vol down then Vol Up...it will boot into stock rom recovery...which is the android robot laying down. Nothing wrong there...that's what is supposed to happen.
That is the same way to get to a CUSTOM recovery such as TWRP but in order to install that, you need to have your tablet unlocked using the Asus APP unlocker. This is downloadable from the Asus website. Read carefully before you install it...if you don't care to install custom ROMs, then dont bother.
If I have stock ROM ICS 4.30 and unroot , unlock and I hold power+Vol down then Vol Up... It only show data wipe and android icon.
Some one in this forum said that also have a USB icon. However, I cannot find it.
How to show the USB icon? Need update to JB loader or unlock the table.
Anyone can help?

No you don't need to update to JB to see this...JB has 4 icons, ICS has 3.

Before you proceed with the following, it is really important to tell me what you eventually want to do.
If you don't care, then go ahead and try first:
1. Go to settings, developer options, make sure USB debugging is checked. Then do the power+vol down to see if USB icon appears.
2. If that doesn't work, try settings, backup and reset, then reboot with power+vol down. Warning: This resets everything so all your data will be erased.

Thank you for your hlep.
point 1 and point 2 have already try. Still only 2 icon show and no USB icon.
I think it should be need to unlock the table or update to JB.
I just want to know other user have same issue or not before I unlock or update the table.
Uhmmmm. The extra 2 icons show when you upgrade to jb. The jb upgrade includes an upgrade to the bootloader which is where these icons appear.
That being said if you don't intend to unlock or use fastboot mode, then you don't need these and perhaps you should stop trying to mess around in sensitive areas. If your intent is to unlock, root, update to the latest firmware and or load a custom ROM, there is a guide in the general section which explains all of this starting in ICS and moving up to jb. Go find it.

Two extra icons appear in JB yes but the usb icon should be there even with ICS. I can confirm since I soft bricked my tablet on ICS when I first got the tablet and needed to fast boot and nv flash using apx to get it working again... He's messed something up and the only way to really get everything back is to restore to stock. However he won't tell me what he intends to do so I can't really help him any further...

As I see it, the only reason to unlock your tablet is to get access to fastboot, right?
So it seems reasonable, that the USB/fastboot icon is not showing on a locked device.
Might be all quite as intended.
Unfortunately I can't check this, as my tablet is already unlocked, but it seems like a good guess.

Good choice!
Folks,
Here is the situation. I have a TF700T on Jellybean with the latest update. I unlocked the bootloader with the ASUS unlock tool. I flashed CWM Recovery and I then wanted to try the Crombi Kit-kat based ROM with f2fs and Overclocked Kernel. I used CWM Recovery to flash that ROM. In the Aroma installer for that ROM I chose to partition using f2fs for external and internal storage. The flash went ok and I booted into the ROM. Here is where the trouble began. I got a message from Android saying that it couldnt decrypt my file system or partition and asked if i wanted to restore the device to stock. I hit yes without thinking too much about it and it rebooted into the Android Logo and it is stuck there !!
I can't shut the device down because it restarts immediately into the white ASUS logo, then pauses for a few seconds, screen blinks, white asus logo again and then the Android Green Robot Screen again with a progress meter underneath it.
I tried holding down the Volume down and power for 10 seconds, the tablets reboots and repeats the process.. I never have an opportunity to enter recovery or wipe. I next tried holding the Volume UP button and holding the power button down for 10 seconds. The tablet buzzed and the screen shut off. I am guessing I am in APX mode.. I tried rebooting again by holding power button down and it does restart but goes into the same cycle, Screen with white ASUS Logo, Screen Blink, White Asus Logo and then Android Green Robot Screen again.. It is stuck in the screen and I cant even shut the tablet down Any idea what is going on ?

Once I could shut it down, I could start the tablet into recovery and then I flashed the stock rom back from my nandroid backup.. Whew!!

Thanks a lot. It works. :good::good::good:
My mom has a completely stock TF300T that one day got stuck on the Asus logo screen with the spinning wheel. I've searched and all the threads deal with rooted devices with custom recovery installed. I can get into the screen with RCK, Android and Wipe Data by holding the vol buttons while holding power but from there I flash the Asus stock firmware but it will install and still get stuck on the Asus screen.
When I plug it into the computer, (win10) it shows under 'unspecified' as 'fastboot' (when in fastboot mode) or as 'Asus Transformer Pad TF300T' but I can't interact with it.
I just want to get into the internal memory and save the pics/videos from the tablet. What can I do?
I had a similar problem with my TF300 way back when. Looking at this thread may help because I was able to pull some of my files at the time using ADB
