status bar quick buttons (wifi, bluetooth, gps) on 2.3.4gb - T-Mobile LG G2x

I was using CM7 for a while enjoying the luxury of having my quick buttons for wifi, gps, bluetooth and sound but now that im back on 2.3.4 stock rom because of stability reasons, I dont have these buttons anymore, was wondering if there was a mod i could use out there to bring these back. Im currently running ADW launcher EX as well.

I do not know of any mod for quick buttons on stock 2.3.4
However, have you tried running plain vanilla cm7 instead of one of the many tweaked/modded versions of it like Hellfire? You can get it from get.cm, the latest nighlty build. I've been running it with mazouts latest kernel 0302 i believe. I strognly recommend it. If not, hope someone here can get you the mod you're looking for

CM7 is definitely leaps and bounds better in terms of battery usage, but if the ROM itself is giving me stability issues with network connectivity, messaging, etc, what options do i have? Aside from not having the status bar buttons, customizability isnt really a huge deal to me, more a less battery use is the biggest one. I was going 1 day 6 hours almost on CM7 and im down to about 12-16 now with the stock rom, all with light usage.

any idea if that will work with faux123 kernel that im using now on stock GB?

It should, it's basically the same as stock plus ics theme and status bar toggles.

christ almighty, i went through all that reprogramming and i got a phone call and the phone would not stop vibrating through the whole call -_-

cm7 man
Just use Notification Toggle from Play Store. Worked for me when I was using stock ROM. I still prefer CM7 though, I don't really notice any decrease in battery life, or at least anything significant.

xboarder is no frills almost boring utilitarian battery saver. I think best on the battery but for maybe an hour or less of battery time you could go eagleblood or some CM variation.
try out the EagleBlood or weapon (has lg camera). If the battery annoys you then go xboarder. Oh also charge your battery all the way before you install rom and wipe data, cache, dalvik, battery stats, format system. its hard to do b/c you want all these apps, but let you battery drain all the way then charge all the way...you should be good to go then. go nuts on apps.

As a user of all 3 roms, here are my thoughts.
Nightly flashes are cool because you get to see new updates , but there is a higher chance things will berak as they are not tested much.
NScollab is updated slowly, but it was really stable for me when i used it, so when i wanted to use my phone as a.. err, phone? I used NScollab.
Right now i am on MIUI Brainmasers edition, and it is perfect for me.
It gets weekly updates with a nice clean changelog (CM7 Changelog anyone? :O) and they are usually pretty stable.
The UI change is refreshing, nto to mention extra hidden features (prox support, map static ip address to network etc)
I bounce back and forth between MIUI weeklies and CM7 nightlies. Right now I'm on CM7.1 #228 with either matr1x or netarchy kernels. MIUI looks really nice, and is CM based, so I guess it's basically the same under the hood.
i've tried miui, both the official and brainmaster's mod (which is definitely the better of the two), both savage and deck's roms, pete's rom, cyanogen, and oxygen. . .
and i have to say i'm severely disappointed that i only recently found out about a little hidden gem called carbon. i say hidden because i check these forums regularly and never saw any mention of it until this past sunday. if you've never run it, you'll be pleased that you did.

CarbonCO2 = Oxygen 2.3.1 with ICS theme.
I use CarbonCO2 because I like the blue battery and status bar icons, and all the other theme-ing. You won't find a ROM more stable than Oxygen/Carbon and they have a great balance of performance, battery life and features. Your phone will not reboot or freeze.
I highly recommend MIUI (esp. Brainmaster's MOD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181050) with morfic's Trinity Kernel.
I've been on CM7, NSCollab, and a handful of other ROMs, and ended up with MIUI. Usually, I found MIUI to be a tad slower than other roms, but for some reason, Brainmaster's seems super snappy.
However, all of the above are super-duper well made roms. And it'd probably be best for you to try em all, just to see how amazing all of these devs are

[Q] [ROM] Ethereal 1.2

hi everyone,
this is actually directed to Jscott, regarding the ethereal last build 1.2
my question is:
I was using your stock at&t gb with root and cwm.
specifically your option 3 in the threar you posted over in development,
a few days ago ive been using the ethereal rom v1.2
ive been experiencing some differences vrs the stock gb uclb3.
is it possible that battery life is shortened with your rom?
could this be because of the kernel change? (stock has entropy's dd, ethereal infuzion core a)
lets assume kernel could be the cause, is it possible to flash entropys kernel into the ethereal rom? would it affect its performance?
lidroid toggles work partially in some cases, like flashlight wont turn on sometimes.
can the rom have issues regarding the response of the screen, in some cases it seems to fail to respond. have to push my finger a lil bit more to the screen.
im very new to this area of flashing roms and stuff. just wanted to say ethereal is very cool, you did a very nice job with this! thanks!

Glad you're enjoying Ethereal. I'll tell you a little "secret". Ethereal is Option C from the Odin UCLB3 packages I put together. A few images and graphical values have been changed to make it look more custom, the launcher has been changed to AOSP, and lidroid toggles have been added. If lidroid toggles get a little wonky, as they have from time to time in most custom roms, a reboot should clear things up. As for battery use, I've had about the same for both stock and Ethereal. Most have reported good battery stats on the rom, but your mileage may vary based on how you use the phone and what apps you use. You may notice a slight difference when using Entropy512's daily driver kernel, as it was designed to provide good battery life. You can flash it with this rom if you would like to test. If you aren't comfortable flashing kernels, you may want to give Zen Arcade's Infuse Toolkit a try. It gives the option to try different kernels.

can I flash the kernel same way as in the post you made about using different kernels?
it's impressive it is option c. in performance they have alot of difference, ethereal has no lag whatsoever.
thats why I was asking if I change to entropy512 dd from infuzion, would that affect ethereals performance?

I personally get good performance with Entropy512's daily driver and Ethereal, and you can use any of the kernel flash methods (easiest being SGS Kernel Flasher from the Play store).

You can see the kernel information in Settings / About Phone. The kernel info is the same for both Zen's Infusion-Z and Entropy's Daily Driver since they are based on the same kernel. For battery life, I can get about a day and a half if I hardly use the phone. With moderate use, I have to plug it in when I go to sleep each night. That's about as good as I get for battery life on stock, on UCLB3 based custom roms, and on CM9. This is with keeping the phone in airplane mode and with wifi on when there is bad cell reception. This phone eats up battery when it searches for cell towers and can't find one. I also keep my screen as dim as possible, unless I'm outdoors, keep GPS off unless needed, and keep auto-rotation off unless needed. If I have a day where I use the phone heavily, and the screen is on for several hours at a time, I get about eight or nine hours, but top it off at work or in the car to make it through the day. This is pretty average for most modern smart phones.

Either one there is smoothness. Battery doesn't overheat much on both. Soooo....... All about user preferences
I'm in love with nexus beam to tell you the truth it fast smooth and it saves on gas (battery)

To be perfectly honest, I haven't tried Codename-- yet-- because I'm already happy with the Nexus Beam ROM.
It has decent WiFi strength & solid battery performance.
I might give the other a try-- if I get bored with Nexus-- but I certainly don't feel like I NEED to do it any time soon.
Codename is prettier than Nexus Beam and also SEEMS faster and smoother, but both are slower than GB. I think whoever programmed ICS put kludge routines in the kernel to induce people to buy faster phones. NOT OUR DEVS! some technicians at Google, I suppose. Hint though -- kernel needs overclocking added.
Notes about 'awake' time between these 2 roms:
Codename build-1 kept 'awake' all the time, Beam pre-final is better, but still on and off for 'awake', longer for 'on' than 'off'. Codename build-2&3 got into deep sleep with no 'awake'. So, in terms of battery performance, recommend to go with Codename build-3, also better than other ics roms.
PS phone condition for the comparison: during the night time, wifi off, data off, airplane mode off.
Trying out code name to see how it runs

Thanks for the suggestion. I switched to your froyo one click (with some bali kernel or something) and my phone have never been so responsive. No hurt in running this version right?

I can't tell if you have the most subtle sense of humor, or if you just don't know that FB is actually running a special Eclair ROM on his device.
We don't have eclair lol just froyo gb and ics

No - it's apparently so secret that you don't know about it.
I was kidding about running that ROM at the moment, but it was the Froyo ROM I used the most until we finally got the KJ6 drop and the custom roms that came with it. It was so smooth and looked so good, I couldn't get enough of it.
Just wanted to keep this thread alive by saying that after trying out both recent builds of both roms , nexus beam seems to be better with on screen time but tuks rom was better with off screen time. I need someone else to confirm this
