[MOD] Facebook Home "unlocked" + Messenger 2.43 *working* chat heads & SMS [NO ROOT!]
Hey..
So I modded FB Home to run on all (?) devices, without touching build.prop or requiring root.
Tested on GNEX, NEXUS 7 emulators.
Home requires Android ICS (4.0) or newer!!!

Installation
• Uninstall original facebook, facebook messenger and facebook home apps. If facebook is pre-installed then you probably need root to remove it
• Extract .rar!
• Install com.facebook.katana.apk (FB app), then com.facebook.home.apk (Home app).
• Also install fborca243.apk (Messenger app).
• Enable facebook home under facebook app settings.
• If you face any issues, reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache.

Wont extract properly for me, or install home from the zip as it says conflicting signature .
Xperia T not rooted.

Uninstall original facebook and facebook home apps, then install my APKs!
Doesn't work on Note 2 running Liquidsmooth (Nexus 4?)

If it's preinstalled you need root to remove it..

I'm having an issue with Facebook not updating from the market, I'm running the last Fresh Rom.
If anyone can help me by droping the facebook.apk file, maybe if I run the file from my sd card it could work.
Did you try uninstalling FB and then download from the market? I has a similar issue and this worked for me.

Download ES File Explorer.
Once installed hit Menu -> Settings
Then scroll to bottom and select Root options.
Check both Root Explorer and Mount File System
You may be prompted with an SU request, allow.
Hit back twice to get to folder directory.
It will probably be at the SDCARD root.
Hit the " / " icon, top left, this will get too the root area of your phone memory (or whatever its called)
Find the system folder, tap it.
Find the app folder, tap it.
Find the Facebook.apk file, long press and hold it, then select delete.
Reboot phone
go to market, download/install latest facebook.apk
something along those lines.

I did not make this or have anything to do with it i am simply putting it out there for people to get and try out
You must have Root and use a program like system app remover or some other program that allows you to delete pre installed apps or system apps open it up and delete the stock facebook apk then simply place the black facebook apk on your sd card navigate to it using my files or any file manager program and install the apk just like you would if it was from the market

Oh i forgot to mention when you install this the market will tell you there is a facebook update available but if you try and install it it will fail if you want the update you have to uninstall the inverted facebook app and then go to the market and redownload facebook but it will not be the inverted one

Oh, that is neat looking, but with updates coming out every other week, kinda a pain to always have to wait for a mod'd version

Right now, it's just working as a clipboard only. Features like linking, etc aren't functional. Am playing around with the 4.3 Launcher, and trying to dig out the Air Command. Once / if we can get Air Command going it should improve scrapbook functionality.

U guys here made my mind for not buying note 3 by sharing its apps and mods :beer:

From Note 3 Bloomberg+ app works fine - see attached. Install as normal app.
Note 3 Active application widget also works on our Note 8.0 and Note 3 Alarm widget too.
push both apps to System\app folder, and change permission to - rw-r--r--, and reboot.
I will post more that I have tested and confirm working...

Installation Instructions:
Download the following file.
Unrar the file and you’ll have 3 APKs inside – ‘GoogleHome.apk’, ‘PrebuiltGmsCore.apk’ and ‘Velvet.apk’.
Next, transfer all the APKs to your phone.
Use a file manager to browse to these APKs from your phone and install them in this order – PrebuiltGmsCore.apk, Velvet.apk and GoogleHome.apk. OR You can also simply copy the files to your root in System/app if rooted.

Google now widget is missing from widgets....
But when i switch back to Touchwiz launcher i can see Google Now widget...
Everything works perfect except google now screen...
As i have read we can instantly access google now by swiping the left edge of the screen but it does not happen in this case

it's so fast and fluid, but i prefer touchwiz launcher which is nicer :laugh:

After installing this APK on my Samsung GT - i8262 every five minutes a error occurred,"Unfortunately, Google Service Play has stopped". Otherwise theme is good but please help me to solve this issue as it hangs my mobile sometimes.

Seems strange.. as it doesnt mess up with google play services..
can u try to wipe cache only in cwm recovery? or may be try and update google search from play store

u r using omkars rom.. u need to manually push those apks to \system\app
or using root explorer copy them to \system\app
Nokia Phones in China have a different firmware and in-built apps. Many have been asking for those Stock apps like Gallery, File manager etc...

Plz help something with something lyk WiFi direct sharing apps stock android does not support on stock android.
Unfortunately Contacts, dialer, gallery and messaging crash on my Nokia 3 TA1020, android 8.0.

How do I grant write permission for the external SD card to the file manager? When I try to edit something in the external SD card, it doesn't works and shows me an error toast.
