[APP]Facebook Home 1.0[ROOT/NON ROOT][CHAT HEADS & SMS WORKING] - Android Apps and Games

Hey everyone, since the thread of the pre-release gets commented really quick, i decided to make a new one with a tutorial to make the new Facebook Launcher work... Here we go:
Thanks to MoDaCo for this, this version works both rooted and non-rooted, chat heads working on Messenger app, tested by me.
If you are a supported device in an unsupported country:
Be sure to have installed Facebook and Messenger, and then install Facebook Home and enable it in Facebook Settings section.
If you are an unsupported device:
Uninstall all your existing Facebook apps (Home, Messenger and main one), and then install the patched Messenger, Facebook and Home app. Sign into Facebook app and "enable facebook home" should be there for you.
Once again, thanks to MoDaCo for this, i just tested and uploaded files to another host. Everything works, at least for me.
UPDATE: Thanks to theos0o for fixed Messenger app. Now SMS fully works too! Just test.

Give it a min, it didn't load mines at first either, but then it did. Be sure to be logged in everywhere and have it enabled on fb app...
ON: Messenger seems to work if you disable the SMS/MMS section...

You tried rebooting? Also, when you press the home key, select fb home and check the "always use this" tab, i had to do that AFTER opening it the first time to make the images appear

Hey everyone, since the thread of the pre-release gets commented really quick, i decided to make a new one with a tutorial to make the new Facebook Launcher work... Here we go:
First of all, install Facebook and Messenger
Now, you need to edit your build.prop in order to make your phone look like a Galaxy Note 2 (ROOT REQUIRED). Find your build.prop using any root file manager, and edit this:
Locate these lines:
Code:
ro.product.model
ro.product.brand
ro.product.name
ro.product.device
ro.product.manufacturer
ro.com.google.clientidbase
And change them to this:
Code:
ro.product.model=GT-N7100
ro.product.brand=samsung
ro.product.name=t03gxx
ro.product.device=t03g
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-samsung
And make a reboot.
Now, uninstall the previously installed Facebook and Messenger apps, and install them again from Play Store, but in the phone, not in browser, make sure to do that.
Open Facebook, log in, and you should see a "Enable Facebook Home" on the bottom of the settings. If you do, congrats, you are doing awesome
Now, install Facebook Home 1.0 (attached), and go to it in the app drawer, and begin using it
Screenshot to proof it's working:

Note: Everything works fine but Messenger. It won't load my SMS/Facebook messages either, still looking for a fix.

bootloops? Maybe you edited your build.prop wrong... Make sure you had a backup before doing it... Works fine on xperia live with walkman and on razr hd... Let me look for other edits
EDIT: Try this on your build.prop

ro.product.name=m0xx

Had a single hangup while rebooting a well, but another hard reset fixed that.
Cool launcher, but very limited and probably going to uninstall at the end of the day, haha.

Welcome to CleanTOOL! This is a quick little script I whipped up to clean up all the bloat on the AT&T One X. The script uses adb pm commands to disable the bloat. Bloat will NOT come back after a reboot! They are gone until hard reset or you enable them again. This does not REMOVE it only DISABLES it! It does not change or delete any system files!!!
As seen on XDA Developers Portal for the Rezound: CleanTOOL – The Relentless Pursuit of Clean!
Note:
Apps will still show up in Market and request to be updates as normal. This is because they are still physically on the device. Updating them in Market does not re-enable the app! You can safely update the app without turning it on.
Instructions:
Root device if not already Rooted! I used this method here: [ROOT] One Click HTC One X (AT&T/Rogers/Others) (Win/Mac/Linux)
Install HTC USB Sync Drivers if not already installed
Download package from download link and extract to your desktop
Enable USB Debugging on Phone
Connect Device to PC in Charge Only Mode
Run "CleanTOOL 1.1"
Choose your options
Enjoy bloat free goodness!
If you are on Linux and or Mac and want to port the tool to those OS'es then be my guest!
Changes in this version (5/14/2012)
Added error trapping if incorrect selection was made
Added the ability to re-enable just myAT&T Wireless if desired

Question, when you say "disable" you mean delete from the phone OR use the disable feature from ICS?
No unlocked bootloader for this phone and dev support is already taking off! I'm using the Asian XL ROM, but I just wanted to say thanks to all you devs for your support.

just a friendly tip,
i think for option 6 (enable all) you meant to say "options 3 & 4" instead of "1 & 2"
im not trying to nit-pick i just dont want anyone to claim they were confused
thanks for the tool!
Just an FYI, ran the full-debloat (Option 5) on my stock ROM rooted, and the debloat ran fine. After Android came back up and displayed the GUI, The Android store began to download about 5 of the disabled APPS. I had auto update on Wifi turned on. It was easy enough to stop the download and disable auto-update on those detected apps. No biggie. Big thanks to Scott!

Ah, yes. Make sure said apps are not set to auto-download as that could re-enable them but I am not sure if it does or not. I forget. I did this on the Rezound about 6 months ago and just totally forgot about that part. I will play around more later tonight to get the exact scenarios and what to avoid doing, etc, etc.

No the point of the tool is to keep the device able to return to stock in a jiffy. I will make more stuff soon that will be good. Just got to playin' with the phone last night about 1:00am and this was a must have for now.
IM going to use Paul's scripts and start on some custom ROMS or at a minimum get some mods going.
Also, I expect all my threads to remain civil at all times. If someone has a question that is answered in the OP I would prefer you just quote the OP or let me respond. Lets not turn things ugly over a little question.
Everyone was a newb once or missed something in an OP before. No reason to bring pitch forks! Lets have a good "Clean" time here

Am I correct on thinking that updating these apps through the market wouldn't re enable then?

That is correct. They remain on the phone there for Market sees them as apps that are there but they do not actually run any more. Thats why I say its "Safe" because you are not "physically" modifying anything on the phone other than hitting a switch in Android to shut them off.

[Q] Kno App

I have a problem with the Kno app. It did not come preinstalled on my note 10.1 N8000. So, I went ahead and downloaded from the google play store, then the problem. Problem was that I cannot properly use the kno app to its full potential, the pen layer is missing and a whole lot of problems. I called Kno and they told me that the app from the google play store is not optimized for the note 10.1 and I have to get it from the samsung app store, so, I went to the app store but did not find the app there. Right now, I can read books on the kno app from the google play store, highlight, put some post it note and the journal, BUT, for the pen layer and other functions, it's not available. The app is just useless if I cannot write on it because then, it won't be like my textbook because I cannot write my little anecdotes on the sides. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
You will need someone to extract the apk from a rooted note. I would, but I didn't root this tablet yet. It isn't a paid program, so I don't forsee a problem. Although I would expect that updating your Talley to jb, would have added on the program if you didn't have it,.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk HD
I already updated to 4.1.1 JB using the germany Rom. It still wasnt there and I had to download from the google play store. When you get to root yours, will you extract it for me? I dont know how to extract apk. Thanks for the info
It's quite a useful app, especially for students! Helps me save backpack space, lol.
Here ya go. Copy to System>App folder and change permissions, or try installing it normally. After you install it, If it isn't working properly, you'll have to edit your build.prop to make it as a Note 8013.

Editing your build.prop will make programs think your device is another device. In this case, it won't have many or any cons since you're just editing it to make it look like another Galaxy Note 10.1 device; very minor change. You want to use a File Manager to goto System and copy build.prop somewhere to your SD Card. For extra safety, make two extra copies. You should also do a ClockWork recovery BACKUP first just in case something goes wrong. I don't think it will though...*crosses fingers* >.>
Open the build.prop on your SD with a text editor like the Dropbox Text Editor. You want to change the following lines to look like this:
ro.product.model=GT-N8013
ro.product.name=p4notewifiue
ro.product.device=p4notewifi
Reboot your device and you should be good to go
If anything goes wrong, restore your backup in recovery or if the device still boots but with errors, copy the original build.prop back to system folder
Need to be rooted first though.
Basically, easiest solution would be someone with a stock ROM, but rooted with titanium backup, extract the program into an apk.

thats actually what I was looking for, someone with the stock rom. Because the people at Kno told me that the problem is that the one from the google play store is not yet optimized for the galaxy note 10.1. He said that the special apps were pre installed on the n8013 galaxy note that are sold here in the US. So, yes, If a kindhearted soul who has a rooted n8013 with the pre-installed KNO textbooks app could upload their apk file, I would forever be in your debt...I really need this to work because my NCLEX exams are coming up and I was hoping that for the review, I don't have to bring like tons of REALLY thick nursing books with me to the review.
I am on the stock ROM, lol. What I posted was the stock n8013 app -_-
Try this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gs4tct7cn5a8unh/KnoProd28[1].apk
That is the exact apk I am using with the S-Pen features. It is 100% stock Samsung. If it doesn't work, it's because you're on the n800, and not the n8013. That's why I said u have to edit ur build.prop. If it works, then good lol.

[MOD][APP]Disable Blocking Mode Notification for MF9 stock rooted DEODEX 7/26/13

Hi,
I was using NottachXposed for this but got tired of having systemui restarts too often, this was made by me using this: Guide
(Credits to the_ape and exscape).
But instead of using apktool and adb, I used Virtuous Ten Studio and the extracted framework files from the deodex MF9 rom by crawrj.
I'm running this currently with no problems, may work with other roms that use a stock SecSettings.apk file, NOT recomended on roms that use a custom SecSettings.apk file.
Behavior of this mod:
You can enable blocking mode, the persistent icon and notification will never appears but blocking mode will do it's work .
Instalation instructions:
** Important, ONLY FOR MF9 STOCK ROOTED DEODEXED
1- copy SecSettings-mod.apk to your phone or sdcard. MD5: A01C51EB543AA9391B0BC563D2F1EC4F
2- using root explorer move the file to /system/app
3- rename you SecSettings.apk file to SecSettings.apk.bak or copy it elsewhere on your sdcard to make a backup.
4- rename SecSettings-mod.apk to SecSettings.apk and set the proper permissions
5- reboot
6- enjoy
If you don't feel confident making this types of changes to your phone, please DON'T do anything, and remember, always make backups of your phone before any change,
Update 7/26/2013
-apk it's now zipaligned

What file manager are you using?
if using root explorer, check the properties of the file, the permission should look like this:
(rw-r--r--) in the numbers below you should see the numbers 0644,
That's in the read group: owner, group and others checked, in the write group: owner only checked, and in the execute group nothing checked.
or it should look something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

Hi, try putting a checkmark in always in your blocking mode for testing, example:

Also check that the number that you are calling from it's not included in the blocking mode allow list (allowed contacts)

App not Installing

Hi everyone,
I tried installing Nova Launcher from the play store, but it just said error -24. What is this? How did it happen and how do I fix this? After, I tried downloading Nova Launcher apk from online, to see if that would do, but it just says package not installed. I've attached some screenshots, and I hope someone can help me!

If clearing Play's cache and data didn't work, try removing/re-adding your Google account. If this isn't the first time you've installed Nova, look in data/app, and delete any vestigial apks that you might find.
Arrghh! I had faced the same problem a week ago... Do what PhilipTD has said and if it doesn't work then there is no option left but to factory reset your n5.
While unintsalling an app (In rarest cases) the old apk file doesn't get deleted from /data/data/ folder. So you have to delete it manually. However, you need root access to get there! If not, then your left with only one thing - "Factory reset"...
Are you rooted ProVickers?

Do you mean from the root of my phone, or from /sdcard ? But either way, there is nothing in them folders Signed out of my account, nothing works. I dont have a clue! Shouldn't need to factory reset, it's just one app, and I'm using apex launcher now as the substitute.

Yeah, you can't see the files in /data/data because you're not rooted.. Believe me, I had searched everywhere looking to fix this but if we are not rooted then factory reset is the only option we have!

Not just sign out, but, rather,
Remove (delete) account:
Settings > Google > YourAccount > Menu > Remove Account
Then re-add (install) account:
Settings > Add Account

I'll enable root access for ES Explorer, that should help! :sly:

The Nova Launcher apk is, "com.teslacoilsw.launcher-1.apk". Look for that in your "/data/app" folder.
In es go to - device/data/app-lib and delete the folder com.teslacoilsw.launcher then try installing it again

Try installing titanium backup and see whether it shows any signs of Nova launcher?? If so, delete it.
However, I'm afraid that factory reset is the only option left...

New Messaging app request.

Hello I was wondering if anyone who has rooted and is on stock can share the new Moto G messaging app please and thanks, either in apk or zip.
Thanks again!
This would be great.

I would have been glad to but I uninstalled it with Titanium Backup and Titanium won't restore it. Titanium will sometimes do that with system apps. Another idea, can't you just download an image and extract it from that?
Because I'm on a moto e 2015 and my bandwidth is a little limited.

If you don't have a linux box, then you probably wouldn't be able to break it down anyway. I blew linux off my laptop so I don't have it available either. Titanium just hangs when I try to restore it. Now, I'd like to actually have a copy of it if I ever need it in the future.

I don't think either of those is the messaging app. Anyway, the MMS Service surely isn't and 1K is too small for MMS, which I don't think is the right file either. It should be named Messaging 5.1.1.3 at least that was the messenger app on my phone.

NOTE: my bootanimation is Updated one.. stiching with needle boot animation..
i got this from an external website..
Open Root Browser (or your file manager) app and once inside, locate your original boot animation file (bootanimation.zip) in /system/media.
so i made a zip of the whole media folder.. by removing some OGG files in it(else the zip file huge..)
if its the right one , then let me know..
here it is.. View attachment media.zip
Only bootanimation.zip file -- if interested ! but i dont know it is the right one for sure.. View attachment bootanimation.zip
