Cwm 6 backup - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

Guys
I've made backups of two roms using cwm 6....it makes backup in 2 folders... One backup and one blobs folder... The backup folder is only 13 mb while max data is there in blobs folder which is common to both the backups.... So how can i separate the two coz i want to transfer one of them to my pc...
Thanks in advance

Blobs are folders with different applications and files. So better to take backup with both of folder. Be careful, If any file would be missing, you would lost whole backup. BTW, if you want then Just restore your that backup & select format in CWM backup in recovery. i.e. .Tar format.
Then delete blobs Using CWM & take backup. Save it..simple.

Yes you can..But V6 has lots of options then V4

You can create tar backups in CWMv6. It's much simpler.

Rather than making a new thread I'll post in here.
I was flashing some roms and backed up my apps at the wrong time in turn losing a lot of saved points in games and app settings. Can I just go back into one of my recent nandroid backups and copy the titanium backup files somewhere to replace the ones I don't want in my current rom? If so which ones?
The files your after are in the Titanium backup folder.

Lol this is obvious but which files do I need? There are several options in the nandroid folder like system, recovery, cache etc but their all img files? Again, I only have the files in my nandroid backup. My Titanium is setup to replace old files when a new backup is performed..
Thanks for any help in advance..

TB saves its stuff on the SD card, which is untouched by the usual Data/Cache/Dalvik wipes for a new ROM. Your most recent backups should be present no matter what.

OK lemme give some more info to help. I just got finished flashing my GB rom to replace my FR with all my settings widgets etc.. Once I had all the apps re-downloaded and thought I was ready to use titanium backup to restore all of my app data I accidentally did a backup instead, in turn REPLACING all of my original settings, saved games etc with just new games and all default bs..
So now, my ONLY option is to restore a backup I had previously when all my settings and games were where I liked them and then do another titanium backup to replace the new stuff. THEN, I have to restore my current GB nandroid to get back to my current ROM and then use titanium to restore my old stuff. The issue is finding which part of the titanium file I need from my Froyo backup to replace my GB backup.. Does that make sense lol?
I think I may figure it out but its trial and error.. I'll report back when and if I get it, just kinda sucks trying to do all this with root explorer and flashing everything over and over while at work..
If I'm doing this wrong please tell me but I am not seeing the easy way out in all of this..
You've got it right, do it just like that. Backing up / restoring Nandroids doesn't affect the SD card, but if you're paranoid you can unmount it. Restore nandroid, backup with TB, restore other nandroid, restore TB.

How do you guys delete cwm backups on external storage?

So I'm wondering how to do this since cwm uses blobs now and RM doesn't read nandroids on external SD card, only internal storage.

Use a file browser, navigate to /mnt/extSdCard(or sdcard1)/clockworkmod and delete them...

to my knowledge you don't want to touch the blob files as they may be linked to multiple Nandroids. Rather if you delete the backups from the /backup folder (the ones with the dates) the next time CWM boots to make a recovery or such it'll automatically delete the blob files it no longer needs.

Under /clockworkmod there's only ever been the /backup folder to my knowledge... I assumed he would be able to figure that part out once he browsed to that location and saw /backup
Edit:I take that back. I hadn't done a backup with the latest cwm. But still he should be able top figure out to delete the /backup folder contents and not the blob
Just delete the backups you don't want from CWM.

Do it from recovery.
Only way to properly delete the corresponding blobs.

[Q] App data and 4.2 folder arrangement

So I just went from TW to Slimbean and I had backed up my apps with Titanium Backup, but when I reinstalled TB it doesnt have any files pertaining to app backups. I formated system and did clean install of slimbean, but I thought TB backedup to the SD...? I am wondering if maybe 4.2 just created a new folder for TB so its empty... something to do with the /0/ thing? Any help would be appreciated..

Did you remember to change the Backup folder in Titanium Backup to the /mnt/extSdCard directory when you installed it? If not it would have defaulted to the internal SDCard.
Unfortunately I did not do as such... Is there a way to navigate my nandroid to pull that tb data? Or do I have to revert back to the nandroid and pull the data off there?

Menu/Preferences/Backup Folder Location/Detect/Whole device. This will make TB scan the entire phone for your backups. Your data has been moved inside the /0 folder and has a symlink to /data/media cuz of AOSP 4.2.2.

Turns out there is actually an option to extract backups from a nandroid... So I did that and it worked. All is well.

[Q] cwm folders

Here is a screen shot of my cwm folder : /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
can anyone tell me what they are for and why the dates are from 1970? can I delete them? the 4 files are taking up over 6.5gb of my internal storage.
thanks
Those are nandroid backups that you do in recovery. I use TWRP recovery which supports custom naming of backups. Thanks helps easily distinguish one backup from another. What I know about CWM is that it does not record dates when you backup. Unless there is an option to name backups like there is in TWRP, that's the way it is. Six GB looks about right for the four backups. You can delete any that you want but just know you're essentially deleting whatever "safe" rom you have backed up.

Using your file manager (es explorer right?) there should be a Properties tab if you long press any of those folders. I'm willing to guess it's already in order from oldest to newest going left to right based on the naming scheme: "year-month-day" and the second part looks like "hour-minutes." However, you can tell via your file manager.

download nandroids backups

so... was wondering if it was possible to download a nandroid backup to a computer for storage, in case i want to go back to a rom after a while?

Are you having trouble just copying the entire respective custom recovery folder onto your computer? I do monthly TWRP backups and just copy the entire folder onto my computer and delete older ones as I do so. Just did that last night actually.

Yea, I've been doing this for a solid 2.5 years going back to my last device. With TWRP, all I transfer over is the actual backup file since the file path does not change. With CWM, I used to copy over the entire CWM folder as it contained the blogs and backups in different folders. Best of luck my friend!
