(English) MIUI ROM - HTC One S

Hi there
Yesterday I unlocked, installed touch CMW and rooted my S4 HTC One S. After that I flashed the miui.us Rom for HTC One S but that didn't work for me: laggy, WiFi and lockscreen didnt work on my phone. After that I restored my backup again... Now i'm eagerly searching for a MIUI rom that has weekly updates.. i used to have that on my HTC Desire Z, back in the days..
Is it only the official MIUI rom from the Chinese official website that has weekly updates on friday? And: when I would flash the official from the Chinese website would I be able to get it immediatly in english after booting the rom for the first time? Because I dont understand a word of Chinese..
Thanks!

When you first boot up a ROM, it will immediately flash up with the language selection screen no matter what, and all the languages will be in their native tongue eg:
English
Espanyol
Deutsch
Francais
etc.
So there should be no problem with using that ROM, just make sure it is for the Ville S4 (or S3 if you have that)

Thanks, that's comforting! :good: :victory: I already tried downloading the official HTC One S chinese rom (since I can't find a proper HTC One S rom on MIUIandroid.com but once on the chinese website I get lost because of the chinese language I don't understand so I don't know which file to click on and download to my computer...

Should you ever find yourself in such a predicament where you don't know how to find English, and the ROM doesn't say languages in their native tongue, then look for either of these:
英語 (This is Traditional Chinese)
英语 (This is Simplified Chinese)
As you can see, there is next to no difference between the two, so it should be rather easy to memorise.

Thanks I will try to flash the official Chinese rom when I get S-OFF (I learned I have to get S-OFF to easily install custom roms through recovery)

S-Offing allows you to flash ROMS without having to flash a boot.img first. You can do it without S-Off, I used miui for a short time (hated it) without S-Off. Also, you can flash custom radios with S-Off. You don't get an awful lot of extras, but if you're really into changing every aspect of the device then go for it!

Seems legit. Atleast it's multilingual.
But i can't confirm anything.
The download speed would be horrible anyway because it's a chinese server and that is like really far away from me.

This rom is for Korean carrier KT's. If you install this, you'll face a lot of carrier-specific bloatwares that you have never seen. However, many Korean rooters wanted to find this RUU due to enhanced call quality which was reported in Korean site.
Anyway, thank you!

Yes, it seems so. I checked the version of radio, so I found it same as this one. I heard those who upgraded to 3.17.1010.2 got better call quality than the previous version, so I guess there were multiple certain changes. I guess this 3.13.1010.2 version was updated due to bugs occurred in Google Korean Keyboard. Anyway, I cannot say there is no difference between RIL of this and that, though.
Ok so where do we get 3.13 or 3.17 from then?
I installed RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_ARA_3.13.415.2_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_227469_signed and Palestine.3.13.415.2 and both down have english (US) or UK and the market is in a foreign currency

[Q] Jelly Bean Dutch Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5110 Where is it?

This might have been asked before and i am truly sorry if this thread is redundant. Did i miss anything? I see GT-P5110 JB updates all over the place except a Dutch version. As my Nexus runs JB and i am very happy with it i would like to leave the realm of ICS on the Tab2 as well.
I did read up on some threads about flashing the rom myself but i am reluctant so far. Any Dutch users out there that might give me a hint on what to do?
Thx!

Is your current firmware carrier branded? In any case you can use Odin 3.0.7 and flash "Open Europe" firmware, which can be downloaded from SamMobile.com at http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-P5110&pcode=0&os=1&type=3#firmware
You will have the list of the 10 latest firmwares (the first one is 4.1.2 multilingual). CLK7 is recommended (English / French)
There are several guides about using / flash with Odin. Here is one: http://androidjinn.com/install-xxclk7-android-4-1-1-jelly.html
Happy flashing..

[Q] Huawei Ascend G330D (U8825D) Multilanguage

Hi!
I have a Huawei ascend G330D with only Chinese and English language. I would like to add some more languages and want to know if this is somehow possible (I just want to have Slovenian)?
I have already rooted my phone and I'm on the latest fw (B956). The phone is bought in China.
I was searching for some custom roms (best would be CM) and I don't want to take some unknown roms from romzj.com...
Are we just a few who have this phone? I can't find almost nothing about this beautiful phone!
PLEASE help me!!!
Kind Regards,
Bostjan
Well... I guess there are not so many of Huaweis (accend g330d) here I just like it and would appreciate if someone has got a ROM (original) with more languages (not only Chinese and English). I'm searching also for German!
Is there really nobody with this phone and a stock multilanguage ROM?
I'm currently using B972 and I think it's more or less stable. I had 2 reboots on my first day as I installed this ROM, but then nothing more (1 week).
Regards!

the best try is to make a custom rom from u8825-1 firmware that come with multilang and make it work for the u8825d.
i don't know how to do that but maybe someone can.
BTW do you have problem that incoming sms doesn't recognized by phone contacts? i mean number that i have in phone contacts seems like not recognized number in incoming sms.
I still hope multilanguage is somehow to be activated.

Well... I'm not sending/receiving a lot of SMS but as far I know I have no troubles. I've renamed my frequent contacts in both, national and international numbering (0660XXXXXXX and +43660XXXXXXX). Maybe you should try this out

There are already Kit Kat android ROMs available in the Modaco forum. Somehow most Kit Kat ROMs that I knew don't have the initial dual SIM card function, only single SIM card and flashing of modem is necessary to restore radio signals.

[Q] other country rom on e8

Hello guys!
I am new to android world.I just bought this E8 from China and its the China Unicom version of E8 known as M8SW.There are many chinese apps on the phone and also it doesnt let me take cloud backup of the device as it asks for some chinese weibo account to sign in or create new account. The same phone has been launched in India and some other countries with the model code M8SD.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge,I am just curious can i flash indian or any other country rom like singapore on it which supports english as main default language.I dont wanna install custom rom on my phone and somehow wanna stay with stock rom but from some other country.
Also if i flash some other country rom on it would it be a problem with frquencies my current rom supports and frequencies what indian rom supports.i mean i dont want any hardware issue after i flash indian rom on to my e8.
After i flash indian rom would the ota updates happen or no.
Finally where I can get Indian stock rom for e8.
Thanks in advance.
Harman
Hello, i own also a HTC ONE E8 DUAL SIM (M8SW) with the China ROM on it. This ROM has not the Possibility to UPDATE the Android, is missing this Point in the options Menu. Could you tell me someone where ich can Download another Country ROM who works this OTA function?? Maybe INDIAN oder better another EUROPEAN version. SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP HERE?
THANKS
I would say you have to unlock bootloader (1), go s-off (2), change CID (3), flash international stock ROM and possibly lock the bootloader to get OTA updates. How it's done is explained in several threads here.
One of my own posts containing information on 1, 2 & 3:
I finaly managed to get dutch feeds in Blinkfeed.
What I did:
1. unlock the phone (see www.htcdev.com)
2. flash TWRP and rooted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-...luded-t2819571)
3. gain s-off (http://theroot.ninja/)
4. write Super CID (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2317536)
5. modify build.prop (you can find build.prop in "/system"). Set ro.product.locale.language=nl & ro.product.locale.region=NL (I found these records twice in build.prop and I changed both)
6. go to play store, remove Blinkfeed and then reinstall Blinkfeed.
I now have local news and/or feeds in dutch on my HTC One E8 (m8sw), you can probably get them in any language you like.

thanks for the information
i have try to change the ro.product.language and region to en GB , but after reboot, it resumed to zh, CN ....
i just want to change the blinkfeed to hk or tw source..... any idea? ^_^
I'm pretty sure that you are still s-on then...
S-on prevents you from making changes to system.

any success?
Hello.. any success? I am also in same situation.. have M8SW, and need other country ROM.
So I can get local blinkfeed, and language support. Though I have changed language to English, some pop-ups still come in Chinese.. guess system related messages.. and default market is not google play, but gives option of either HTC market place /game center.. when I get reminders about app updates. So when I open Google play and then update apps from menu, it works fine.
it seems that it worked on my htc one e8 m8sw with lollypop

HTC one XL eva_utl middle east update

Hi there i'm new to the forum.
it's great one with a lot of helpful guys
i need experts help please.
My phone is HTC one XL EVA_UTL Saudi Arabia middle east Edition.
My android version is 4.1.1 and it must be updated to 4.2.2 years ago but i didn't get the update i don't know why.and my HTC keyboard does not support Arabic language.
I need help to root this phone and install newer custom rom and i really need to add Arabic language to my HTC keyboard it looks more cool than Google keyboard.
could you help me please ?
You can unlock your bootloader at htcdev, you can install TWRP recovery, you can flash SuperSU to get root. But, you can't flash any newer ROMs because those ROMs require updated firmware and the updated firmware from the standard Evita is not compatible with the Evita_utl and will brick it. Essentially, you're stuck.

I don't know about the keyboard so I can't answer that. The first thing you need to do is go to htcdev and unlock your bootloader. Then you can follow the instructions in my guide thread to install TWRP recovery and flash SuperSU.
