[Q] Help! My note 10.1 was bricked !! - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
I got a secondhand Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) with Android Honeycomb version a few days ago.
To upgrade android OS version from honeycomb to jellybean with official ROM,
I entered Odin mode and saw the product name was "GT-P7570".
Even if the product name shown on Odin mode was GT-P7570, I flashed the official ROM to my note 10.1,
because the model number displayed on the Note 10.1's "About device" menu was "GT-N8000".
Anyway. my secondary note 10.1 seems to be bricked. (dose not turn on, enter Odin mode, and see charging icon while charging with AC adapter.)
I heard that there are three types of brick mode ("hard brick", "soft brick", and "coma brick"), and I don't know what kind of brick my note 10.1 encountered. Are there any ways to fix my note 10.1 ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to know what the product is first . Honeycomb is a very old OS .
A guess this is either not the Note or its been flashed with old Tab Firmware or other non Note/Tab firmware .

Yeah, and somebody may have altered the build.prop to make it Seem as if its a Note 10.1. Sounds like Sounds like You May have been cheated. Does your Tab have a Pen in the bottom right corner? If not its a galaxy tab 2 10.1...

Sounds like a Galaxy Tab 10.1. Especially if it came with honeycomb.

Yep, the Note 10.1 came Natively with ICS. Never had honeycomb. That was the previous generation of tabs...

The seller said that the initial version sold in germany, (my second Note 10.1) has no S Pen slot.
At that time of purchase, the S Pen came with the note 10.1 separately.
When i search on the internet, in my case, there is no way to fix my Tap with software manner.
The only way for fixing is to change the mainboard of my TAP with extra charge :crying:
Should i call Samsung to fix my Tap or is there any other ideas?

I'd take it back and demand my money back as it was sold under fraudulent circumstances. No note 10.1 was sold without spen, that was its main selling point. If it happened here in Oz, if it wasn't either replaced or refunded I'd go to dept of consumer affairs.
At the very least they can pay to get it fixed as you have tried to upgrade on the premise that it was a Galaxy Note 10.1, not the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
If you bought it privately there may be not much you can do but if its a store I'd be making sure I got my money back.

Samsung will probably charge more than your not a Note is worth .
But if you can identify the product it may be possible to recover .

Samsung don't fix TAPS you need a plumber for that!
Couldn't resist.

When you flash firmware that was intended for another device, your device will be bricked.
Only solution is motherboard replacement.

Multi windows 4 Tab 2

Hi,
I heard that Samsung decided to let use multi windows code by developers. Do You think Galaxy Tab 2 will get this features ?
I don't know. But it will be great to see on our Galaxy Tab 2.
I have this function on my Samsung Galaxy S3, but it useless becasue of height LCD which is little bit small for this function. I hope that multiwindow will works great on Galaxy Tab 2.
Still waitin'
Multi-Window is one thing I have on my Galaxy Note 2 that I really wish my Tab 2 SGH-T779 had, the T-mobile varient of the Tab 2.
I tried installing the Xposed Framework on it, but ended up with a boot lockup so I had to rip that back out, unfortunately.
If anyone ever progresses in this, I'll be trying to keep up with it and see where things go.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 But it's a demo version, HELP

Hello!
My friends told me you guys could help me here, so here my story/question:
I got a Samsung Galaxy S4 from my work and I can keep it 2 months. I need to promote these phones.
Samsung gave me a free "demo version" of the Samsung Galaxy S4. I can do almost everything with it except calling.
How can I remove the "demo version" and use it for these 2 months as my own phone ?
Thanks!

Im trying now to find a place with the devo version rom, but can’t find it
To make phone call it’s impossible because doesn’t have the hardware to make it.
i have the same problem. no way to fix it.

help!!!

Please shelp me identify this tablets. Mine is the one above and shows GT-N8000 but it has no stylus. i flashed with GT-N8000 firmware now it wont boot up. please help moi identify
You got ripped off... If it has no pen its the samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1... No note 10.1 was sold without the s-pen - it's the major selling point of the note 10.1...
If you flashed the note firmware on the gtab 2 then you will end up with a brick and may require the pit file to fix. If that doesn't work then its back to samsung....
Here's a link to a picture of the back and front of a galaxy tab2 10.1 - http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_2_10_1_p5100-pictures-4567.php
And here's a link to the Note 10.1 - http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_10_1_n8000-pictures-4573.php
You said it had gt-n8000 on the tablet. If this was in settings then it was because someone played around with the build.prop file which means they sold it under false pretenses.
If it said it on the outside then I believe its a chinese fake.... and heaven knows what firmware you would need to fix... You have a lovely paperweight though....
The back of your tab isn't from the Note 10.1, Across the top you should have a silver piece that goes across the top, and the camera aperture is supposed to be a square , not rounded....
Under the writing at the bottom - CE0168 there is a heap more writing, 3g, wifi and internal storage size.
The only other thing I can think of is you got a developement version of the GT-N8000, it came with 1 gb of ram and a dual core processor. There is no firmware available for this as it was only a prototype and didn't go to manufacture... Not even Samsung will fix this....
i agree with you bro, but there is a little difference with galaxy tab 10.1 p5100 and mine. mine has flash light behind and the speaker at the front aint joined to the calibrator. could you tell me the model number number of the one above .thanks bro. one luv
As I said, it's possibly the prototype made by Samsung in which case it is the N8000 BUT there is no official firmware as it was never officially released. That's if it is an original Samsung Product and not a knockoff....
I can't tell you what you have as I don't really know.... Sorry....
I finally flashed it with a P7501 file Tmobile file android 3.2. It started flashed until it got half way and it went off till naw it wont come up no sign of charging or anything. Wot do u think is wrong hard bricked or coma bricked
If there is no sign of life its hard bricked.... Coma bricked will at least get you to bootloader....
thanks for replying bro. i have a feeling there was no charge in it. because when i put it download mode after a mins or 2 it off itself. buh do u think flashing it could hard brick it.for now on getting home have plugged it to charge lemme see if sometime could happen. which social ntwrk are u on lets chat more better. thanks bro
Battery dying mid flash will cause a brick. One of the first rules of flashing is to ensure you have power!
If you cant get into download you have a paperweight....
Is there jtag for the note tab yet?

Not compatible with Tab S 8.4?

I just got my watch today, but it is not able to connect to my Tab S 8.4 LTE... The Gear manager in my tablet cannot find the watch even though it is right next to it. I tried to reboot both devices and turn the Bluetooth off and on, and nothing works. Really Samsung, not even compatible with your own galaxy devices?

The watch will work with every phone with 1.5 gb of ram and android 4.4 and up. I'm sure you will find a second hand S5 for 100 $ to use it for 3 or 4 months. Then resell it.

Yea, that is probably what I should do now. Good advice, thanks.
I'm in the same boat as you. My primary phone is (and will continue to be) a Tab A with telephony. It won't work with the S3, so I picked up a cheap Android that lives in my desk drawer and is only used on occasions when the watch needs to be paired with a phone.
I run a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and i had to buy a used Samsung Galaxy S4 mini to pair and configure my Gear S3. What a pity !
Hi!
Any updates on this?
I spent last couple of days trying to pair Gear S3 with Tab 8.4 Pro (SM-T325) running stock kitkat 4.4 - no luck (((
It's such a shame that Samsung doesn't even make an attemp to make their own devices compatible with each other. Was a big surprise for me.
So, did anybody manage to couple Gear S3 with any tablet? If yes, how did you do it?

Different firmware for a Samsung tablet

Hey there, I recently found out Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will get a DeX mode and thought about how to get it on the previous flagship tablet of Samsung - Tab S3. I have one and I really think that DeX mode will be a nice thing to have on a tablet with a pen. We all know, that Samsung can add that feature later like it did with S9 camera functions on S8 with last firmware update. So there is the question: is it possible to install a Tab S4 firmware on a Tab S3? They have different screen ratio but that must be all differences out there. Maybe hardware home button also. I read about installing different firmware on Android tablets but often people said something like "the devices must be nearly identical to use the same firmware" and all that stuff. But really, the only thing that is really alarming me is the software buttons on Tab S4. I think they will float there for no reason if it si possible to install Tab S4 firmware on Tab S3. If you know something about a different firmware on Android device, please, tell me. Thanks.

It is possible to flash a firmware from a different device but they have to be of the same hardware chipset. For example, some models of US versions of Galaxy S3 can share each others firmware, but the S4 cannot use the S3 firmware.
But, generally speaking(95% of the time or more) flashing a firmware from a different device results in a hardbricked device. This is mostly due to differences in bootloader and modem. I have a Galaxy S3 SCH-S968C(Straight Talk) that can use the custom ROMs from the SCH-I535(Verizon) because they are virtually the same device BUT the SCH-S968C CANNOT flash the SCH-I535 stock firmware, it results in a hardbricked device, even though they are the exact same device.
There is no definitive answer to your question other than it is "possible" to use another firmware. But it is ALWAYS a special case scenario because you have to research the devices in question to see exactly how similar they are or are not.
There are cases of devices from one country being used in another country by flashing the firmware from the country the device is being used in, but it is not possible on ALL devices.
