Guys does anyone know a guide to Port ROMs from another devices ,of course I want to contribute too on SGA+ community .I want to Port a CM10 based ROM ,planning to port S|| Stock ROM jelly bean from galaxy Ace

Ace and ace plus are too different. I tried to port cm7, but i got bootloop. I'd suggest you try to port from an msm7x27a device

Search on google for msm7x27a devices and click the first link. Only make sure the device you want to port from has the same resolution, in case you don't want to compile from source

Oh! And if you want to port a rom, they should b the same version.
E.g. : port 4.1 to 4.1 , not 4.1 to 2.3 because you will need a base rom fro ace plus and the rom you'd like to port

In that thread i meant to say that phones are different, but not very, so the ROM might still end up with some errors

Sorry but i am not forcing you or anything... I am not a mod or admin to own the forum... I didn't even said anything like that... I am just politely requesting you to search before posting as same question has been asked many times before... And if you just Google guide for porting rom you will find many results which will help you... No one is here to spoon feed you... Grow up!!!

[REQ]Help with CM7!

i finally compiled a flashable .zip CM7 file for S7500, but it won't pass the android logo and i can't provide logcats because "/sbin/sh : command not found" . i tried installing other kernels, but was still stuck at splash logo

So I followed one of those "port from another device" thread. I used Inspiration ROM V10 as a base. The result was not very good.
The only thing that changed is that ... the bootloops are shorter :/

PM any CM7 developer on xda who has much knowledge about CM7... & take help from him/her.
if they will ready to help u then provide them ur smartphone's stock rom's zip package & other things needed
lets try it.. hopefully someone will ready to help u :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for advice. I'll try to contact a dev in the weekend and see if can get any help
Edit : guess I found the perfect device to try to port cm7 from - HTC explorer. I'll let you know if it works asap

well as per i know u can't port it from another device.
cm roms needs source code to build first as per device.
& as thewhisp already said he build cm10 source code for our device & mini2.
technically u can port roms only if u have perfect base rom & here u r going to create base rom.
so u have to build source code first
( IDK much so correct me if m wrong )
btw, i hope dev's will ready to help u in that... :highfive:

I think it can be ported without using source code. There are many tutorials on how to port cm from other devices. Only aosp runs only built from source.

Porting from HTC explorer didn't work. Boot loop + couldn't access adb in any way

Htc explorer = galaxy ace plus
320*480 = 320*480 (good)
600mha = 1gha (but this)
I've check some porting roms guide. I agreed they said screen resolution must be same fo both base rom device & port rom device.
But even now all specifications are also have to same like gpu & ram etc.
If u try to port roms from lower to higher gpu or viz. U will face bootloop.
Same case happen when some ppl try to port galaxy ace's rom for ace plus.
I suggest take a look once again on guide... may let u clear ur doubt.

Well, I thought the MSM7225A was quite similar to MSM7227A, but seems I was wrong . Also, no MSM7227A devices have CM7

msm762xA is an totlay diferent chipset andwas not supported by cm7 repo
you will have to rewrite some code

seems like blackburner's github is down
there is no other gingerbread device tree. can anyone help me on how to create one or share an existing one?

After a long search i took a device tree from HTC Pico and modified files to make it somehow compatible with our Trebon, yet i don't know if i did good because i don't know which files are proprietary, so i might have just partially obtained the blobs.
I tried to build CM7 again, this time based on this device tree, but it didn't boot :crying: . I need some help with this device tree.

If you are enough skilled at ROM Porting please help me ,I just want to contribute on Galaxy ace plus forum .
How can I build the ROM from source?
Do I need Linux/Ubuntu?
What to do after building the ROM from source?
(My mission is the ParanoidAndroid)
What tools to use ?
Please give me a STEP-by-STEP guide ,or redirect me to a thread that could really help me through this Porting.

it's called ''Screen Cast'' u can find it on play store and an apk on google

I did try that but no sound. The record is fine. :'(

hi.. i want to ask about cm.. when i flash new rom with use cm.. i cannot use perfectly line apps.. i call someone with line apps.. automatic loudspeaker.. on/off still the same problem.. anyone can help me..? sorry for bad english..

1. Want miui or cynogen port to a duos
miui is there for dual aim mobiles so it can be done on our device
2.OR paranoid android as there so many ports for 512mb ram single core ics devices
3. fast interface which is really smooth in every app
are u going to port any rom for this device or u just thinking to mod only the stock rom?

Just trying to build something along with some other devs who worked on this device before..!

i will post the link of your thread to a certai facebook group so they can add some suggestions.
anyways, i want a cm10 themed rom. the blue one. the sim icon on the nav bar should disappear.

The SIM icons are helpful for easy switching between SIMs..! Need a replacement or removal?

Every time when i m playing game and a phone call comes...my phn got hanged for a few secs then the caller name and other options are displayed...pls fix this in your rom

Games talk up a lot of RAM.. Coz of single core processor I think it's Hard to fix it up.. Anyways, will try...

enabling clear voice recording isn't easy..!

I want KitKat first of all if you could do this would be enough at this point.
at least this
- undervolt if possible
- disable zram and reallocate to use full 768mb of ram with swap in cache
