extracting the libraries and code from xperia sp for PS3 controller? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

the new Xperia SP will make it easy to use PS3 controllers with it:

I was wondering whether anyone had access to a complete system dump which would allow us to extract the drivers, libraries and applications to make this possible on other android devices?

I asked Clove if there was any news about PS3 controllers on other Sony phones...
"Sony have pushed updates for the Z to use PS3 controllers and the functionality is available on the Z Ultra and Z1. You have to first connect the Dualshock3 via USB with a USB OTG cable and select the pairing option from the settings. The controller will then pair to the phone rather than the Playstation when turned on. You can reset back to the console with USB like normal."

Connect controller via Android to PC?

Hi,
for this project I'm working on I would like to connect for instance a wii controller via android to my pc. I know there is software to connect a wii controller to android over bluetooth, but is it also possible to 'channel' this to your pc over wifi, and use it for gaming? In this way it could bridge longer distances. I know it's complicated
thanks
If you buy a bluetooth usb adapter, you can just connect your wii remote to your pc straight away

Connect a Playstation 3 controller to a Android device?

Is it possible to connect a Playstation 3 controller to a Android device via Bluetooth and play all the emulators like that?
If so, how?
Thanks.

Definitely not, unless someone comes out with a custom driver/app. the PS3 controller doesn't use a generic bluetooth protocol, it has it's own Sony one. To even get a ps3 controller to work over bluetooth on a PC requires both a custom application running on the PC as well as custom bluetooth drivers in order to allow your bluetooth adapter to talk to the PS3 controller. With the custom drivers loaded the ps3 controller is the only thing the bluetooth adapter will talk to.
Someone would have to do essentially the same thing for android: custom application as well as custom bluetooth drivers
Furthermore, to pair a PS3 controller to a computer or PS3 via bluetooth you must be able to connect it over USB first. You would need an Android device capable of USB host mode which are few and far between.
Has anyone tried any kind of bluetooth joystick with their Android device? Any recommendations?
The Wii mote works .. search the market for the app. Make sure your phone or rom supports HID
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Why isn't it possible on Android?
It even works without extra applications on Maemo: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=66704 http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=41693
At least Honeycomb 3.1 should be able to detect it or is there another problem?

[Q] otg ps3 wireless/otg root/no-root help

i have a question about ps3 controllers and my moto g. i am so sorry i know that the info is already provided in this forum but i have NO idea and info about rooting since there's too much info on what to do/what not to do, and information is scattered everywhere. all i see are gibberish. I am so overwhelmed and at a loss.
1. i have this after glow ps3 controller(only usb no wireless bluetooth pairing for ps3) and i used it with my otg cable on my moto G and it works. my ps3 controller doesnt but it worked on my nexus 7(now dead). is ps3 not supported by default or do i have to root it to use it?
2. If i root it just for sixaxis, will i lose my warranty? will i still be able to get the latest on the air updates automatically?

Is gamepad is working with xperia l

Game controller media buttons generate KEYCODE_UNKNOWN on Android 4.4.4 but not 4.1.1

I have an OnLive Wireless Controller. Google for reviews and pics if you're not familiar with it. It's dual-mode Bluetooth and proprietary wireless, coming with a USB receiver for non-Bluetooth connection.
The controller has five media buttons. On two Android 4.1.1 devices (Huawei Y300 via Bluetooth and Archos GamePad via USB/OTG) the media buttons generate mostly sensible key codes:
Code:
<< KEYCODE_MEDIA_REWIND
o KEYCODE_MEDIA_RECORD
^ KEYCODE_UNKNOWN
>|| KEYCODE_MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE
>> KEYCODE_MEDIA_FAST_FORWARD
The OnLive button also generates KEYCODE_BUTTON_MODE.
However on an Android 4.4.4 device (Huawei G620S) via Bluetooth all the media buttons generate KEYCODE_UNKNOWN. That phone doesn't support USB OTG so I couldn't check whether it happens over USB too.
Has anyone else come across a similar problem?
