[Q] backup apps? - HTC Pico (Explorer)

i change roms regularly...i use app backup n restore app for apps ...but in that we ha ve t select one by one or install it one by one ....it really vex me a lot...so anyone have idea abt installing all backed up APPS at once????

Use Titanium back-up PRO.It has the option of installing(batch restore) all the apps+data at once.

Rom toolbox lite.

I know this is a noob question, but how does everyone reinstall there settings and apps after superwipes? Do you guys use titanium? Cause I thought titanium restores like that made crashes. I'm going from HD 3.6.11 to 6.0.1..

Yes titanium is the way most here restore and back up apps. The trick is to restore apps with data only and NOT system data. Restoring system data from another rom to a new different rom will conflict and cause force closes. Kinda self explanatory if you think about it a bit. But bottom line titanium is the way to go when traveling from rom to rom. Titanium is good, but nandroid backups is THE way to back up your set up prior to flashing new stuff. Happy flashing.
But you don't need to restore your system settings other than bt profiles and wifi access points.
When I was using my Desire I used to use mybackup pro. It is a great app. Try it. It will restore your apk's as well as data.

Download titanium backup. Click on the backup/restore tab. Then tap your menu button on your phone. Hit batch. Backup user apps. That will put a folder in your sdcard called TitaniumBackup with your backups in it. After flashing a new rom, download titanium backup again and go to batch. And hit restore user apps with data

+1 for titianium.
as far as contacts go, you have these backed up automatically to your gmail account when you set it up, or do a manual export to your sd card from within the 'people' app.
how about the green system info
My question is similar and having learnt the hard way when installing the system apps and data causing new ROM to FC often.
However, other than the "missing app and data" do you restore anything else? which is safe to do? I assume the account info, access point, MMS is ok? How about the desktop? Is there a way to restore how the apps were organized (i.e. the folders they are placed)?
Also, when you reinstall titanium backup after a new ROM, will it automatically know you can download the pro version if it's bought in market place? Or else, how can one avoid having to pay again to reinstall?
Thx.
You can restore SMS & MMS with the stock Messaging-Program.
Thats the way I do it: Save Apps with Titanium, Store Messages & Contacts to SD-Card and make Screenshots from my desktop´s.
When you change the OS, you can´t restore Systemsettings. Like the Desktop as well.
The Titanium Pro can be activated on a different OS Version. Just download the free one and activate it by the given Key from the paied Version.
Use Titanium Backup its the best one out for android os
So take a screen shots of the folders the apps r in and just reorganized it all over? There's no way to do it automatically then?
Thx

There is a system setting for allowing you to backup the Sense desktop. I forget exactly whatever its called in titanium but it does work after you flash a new Rom and need to restore.

[Q] Titanium Backup

I want to know if titanium backup is of any useful use for our fit and is it safe.
and is it possible to backup ur rom wid it.
thnx
you can't backup a rom using titanium backup. use cwm for that.
"Titanium Backup" is the most important app for a rooted user, who is a ROM maniac (like me)...It is used to backup apps+data and many many extra features!...But "NOT USED TO BACKUP A ROM"....if u want to backup a ROM then boot into CWM Recovery and go in "backup and restore" and then backup!...ur Done!
galaxy fit + CM7.2 Rc5.6(2.3.7) + 801Mhz
thnx guys
but ive hard not to restore system settings as it causes many problems
is it true?
yes its safe to restore apps and data of apps which are downloaded from market (or are sideloaded)...
however, restoring data of system apps may give you fc's...
like for eg, I tried to restore my wifi settings from creeds to cm7 rc5.3...but whenever I tried to connect to a saved wifi spot, I used to get force closes...had to wipe data again...
also, the best feature of titanium is batch backup and restore, and schedules...
batch is in menu>batch...you can use it for one click backup and restore...
i prefer mybackup pro as it has a better and understandable UI and works well
can mybackup do backup of app data as well??
yeah it can backup app data and apk for system and non system apps
it can also freeze or unfreeze, break or link to market for the apps

Yup it should work...
Restore the data only, no need of restoring apps also (since it is the same rom)...
Typed using a small touchscreen
While batch backup in titanium backup app,it backups all the app+data very nicely. We just have to start the batch backup and keep our phone aside till the backup completes. But while restoring apps via batch restore,it constantly asks for permission whether to install or cancel for every app. So does mybackup pro batch-restores apps without asking such permission?
Even titanium PRO doesn't ask...
Free version doesn't allow one-click batch restore...
Typed using a small touchscreen
my backup pro dosent ask
ive tried only restoring the app data till now and not the app on my backup pro

Saving settings and apps on p920 3d

Hi Guys
I just need advise on how to re-install settings ( like email settings) and apps when I change or update ROM on Lg phone P 920
I just found it very annoying when I want to experimentate a new Rom and then If I like it I have to reinstall from scratch all my settings ( email settings) and re- install all Apps that was available on previous Rom.
I must guess that for sure there is a way to avoid all this extra work and install on new rom just the settings and apps that was available on old Rom..
Any Idea on how to avoid all this pain? lol
Sorry to bother you guys!
Happy New Year! and I hope that this bloody LG will release soon an update!
Ciao
Marco
Use an app called titanium backup. With that you can backup all your apps and app settings to the sdcard and then restore.

Apps Backup and Restore

Hello everyone...
First of all, i'll like to apologise if this thread is already in existence cos i dont really know how to search through over thousands of thread created. I love trying out types of custom rom i feel wld be great. But everytime i install, i'll have to start installing my apps (backed up apk's) manually. Could anyone help me with any app which i can use to backup installed apps so after flashing a new rom, would just have to restore the backup which would install all app and its settings instead of doing it manually all from the start. i googled and downloaded an app Nandroid Manager but i dont figure how to use it.. It wont set a backup location. Any help???

Not very familiar with nandroid back up but i am using titanium backup(buy it, worth every penny), it give u option to both backup your app+data.
I think the free version has the same option.
There is also this app. i used recently on a game(pudding monsters) and it restored the app with the data.
Try both and see which works best for u.
+1 Titanium Backup do it well even free version
You can also do it yourself by doing a copy paste of your data/app folder
Titanium is the best way you can choise

This can be done by two way
1) Titanium Backup - This will ensure all your app and data will be restored on new ROM in single click
a) Backup all user app+data of old ROM
b) Create a Update.zip through Titanium backup app
c) Flash the Update.zip through Recovery (Post installation of new ROM) and enjoy :good:
2) Nandroid backup - By using this option , entire ROM can be backed up (App,Data everything as on date). However this can be use only if you are going back to experience the same ROM again.
1) Through Recovery take the backup of entire ROM
2) Through Recovery restore
3) If you are on S-ON then post restore flash the boot.img manually by using Fastboot command before rebooting the phone. It is must to do step or else phone will be trapped in bootlap
I always ensure following before installing a new ROM
1) Back up of Contacts, SMS/MMS and Call logs by using My Backup Pro app
2) Creating the Update.zip file of all user app+data as on date so nothing can be missed out (Not even save games of Temple Run)
And if I want to go back again to the earlier ROM then I used Nandroid backup. Which reduce a hell lots of efforts.
