Network subsidy locked - Droid 2 Global General

Hi all, I have a issue with my D2G, after wrong attempt to unlock now the phone shows this message" Phone is subsidy locked. Please contact service provider" Is there any solution for this.Pls help me out.

SigmaKey only.

Oh thats disgusting. Do you have it ? Or any other person here in xda ?

SigmaKey no longer works over network, so you need someone local.
A lot of cellphone repair shops have them.

I am in India & its difficult to find it here. Anyhow thanks for your reply.

Phones blocked in UK - Can they be used in USA?

Hello there....
I bought a second hand phone for my girlfriend, which appears to be blocked on all UK networks. I'm guessing it was an insurance scam or something like that.
Question is.... would this phone still work in the USA?
It's a Sony Ericsson K800i
Any help would be much apreciated because currently, i'm about £220 out of pocket. I know i was stupid to do this, but you know what it's like when they start pecking your head for something......
Thanks in advance.....
G
Should work in USA, as the IMEIs are only blocked on the UK networks.
Thanks for the response. Can anyone verify this for me 100% though? I rally don't want to cause anyone else the same problems i have.

Yes you definately can use the device in us as far you mentioned the devise imei is locked by uk service provider....so there should not be any problem usng it other place/other service provider then of those...i also used one set like then a years ago....
but the problem might not get solved if the device is sim locked....that means the device is ment to use with a single operator 4m whome it was been brought on a contract.... otherwise then of the sim locking things you should be fine...
Thanks

Lost HTC 7 Pro - But still have IMEI number...can anything be done to lock it for goo

Hi Guys,
I lost my phone one night. I am not in hope of finding it, but I do not want thief to profit from the occasion.
I have the IMEI number still at hand. Is there anything that can be done?
(NB: I did not have a phone/sim lock on the phone and the thief deleted the findmyphone function WP7 has)
Many thanks in advance,
Jason

If you really want to pursue it, you can ask your cell phone company to try and give you a rough location of where it is through cell triangulation, although that may be difficult to get them to do. Otherwise, you can tell them to Blacklist the IMEI number so that it can't be used on any networks.

Thanks for the tips.
I tried to block the IMEI in Hong Kong, but my service providor (Smartone Vodafone) said they dont provide such service.
When I went back to the UK, I called up T-Mobile and someone from an India call centre said they blocked it for me, but the "reassuringly" told me it can be easily unlocked by someone who knows mobiles well...
Are there any sites or places I can submit the IMEI number to?
Many thanks,
Jason

It can't be "unlocked". The person would have to spoof or change the IMEI number, something which I've been able to ever do on 1 phone (original iPhone). But the reason I did it is not because it was stolen, but because I didn't want a data plan that AT&T was forcing on its customers, so I made the phone appear as another phone. I don't think it can be done easily on most phones.
I don't think there are any websites you can submit the IMEI number to. I believe there's a global IMEI blacklist database that most responsible carriers choose to enforce.
Cheers for the details.
I too was shocked that Smartone Vodafone did not offer IMEI blocking.
I hope t-mobile really did block the IMEI number.
I was a bit sceptic as all the CS Agent did was take note it and that was it. She didnt ask for any details about me either.

Unlock Nokia 7230?

Hello guys, i have a question i already search about that in google but its seems that all the sites who provide codes its payd service and some of them ask for 30 35 Euro i think is redicilous.
The situation is like this, one Girl friend of mine have a Nokia 7230 Locket by the Provider to work only with this provider sim cards, so this mean that the phone can be Unlocked without cable and etc just with Code, so She pleased me to unlock it.. but how to explain to her she need to pay alot for unlocking etc.. so if someone here know what i can do to make her favor.. because is friend please let me know
The specific IMEI of that phone is : MOD EDIT: REMOVED IMEI
I know that Unlocking code can be generated with the IMEI because every code is unique so if anybody wana help me with this will be great.
Thank you in advance !!!
I know that there is not free lunch But i cannot ask her for money and i don`t thik i need to pay for her phone on the same time Cmon this is a CODE we are Comunity here im sure someone know how to get this
Hi.. I had checked for free service for unlock your friend's mobile. But Sorry there is no free service for unlock your nokia 7230. But you can get codes from many online providers. According to me Mobileunlocksolutions.com is a good service provider for unloking mobile in market. If she wish to unlock, she have to provide the country/network it is locked to and correct IMEI number. Tell to your friend that you have to pay and there is no free service like that. And in free service they gives you a list of codes but 5 times only you can try the codes. If your phone didn't get unlock with that code means, your mobile will get hard lock. After that your mobile won't accept any codes. Tell those information to your friend. After that if she wish to pay for unlock means you just tell to try the above mentioned site. I hope this information will be helpful for you.

[Q] So I have an unlockable phone...

Hi guys.
I won a phone from Samsung in a event they were hosting in downtown toronto. It took them a while but I finally got the phone!!!
Unfortunately its locked to a network im not a customer with - Im on contract with another.
I've paid 3 seperate websites (Canada GSM, Cellunlocker.net, and Unlock Genius) but nobody can find the IMEI in their database! I paid the carrier its locked with - but even they couldnt find it!!!
Do i have a ghost phone? Is there anyway to unlock it other than the unlock code?
Thanks.
try http://www.fastgsm.com/en
Thanks Tomerbi for the advice, but I doubt they'll be able to find it considering 3 other websites couldnt (Paypal is having a field day, freezing the refunds as they come in).
What's the model number of the phone? For example mine is an international unlocked SM-G920F. Perhaps there is a region lock on it? The unlock sites can't do anything about that.
SM-G920W8 - Im using a sim from the appropriate region of the world, and briefly used a sim from the network it is locked to!
Looks like its a Canadian phone. And you're using it in Canada. Strange.
And when you put in the sim card for the network it is locked to that doesn't work either? Then what network were they expecting you to use it on when they gave it to you?
Its locked to Telus - Telus connections do work in the phone. Only type that do work. Just that nothing else does, and Telus doesnt have the IMEI in their database.

Region unlocking S8+?

Hi all,
I bought an S8+ from the Netherlands on subscription from Tele2 since I study there. Obviously, I've been using the phone for a while (5+ mins calling, etc.), so I should be unlocked, right? Wrong. I put in a foreign SIM card (Egypt) and it asks me for a network unlock code. However, upon contacting Tele2, they said that my phone was unlocked. I don't know how I should unlock my phone. I've tried online services like cellphoneunlocker.net, etc. but they don't seem to work. Can anyone help me with what I need to do or where I can get it unlocked? I'm in Egypt for a month for winter break and my phone is basically a brick.
I want to know if I can get my phone region unlocked to work with my SIM or not. Please help.
Sincerely,
A struggling student
Did you do exactly 5 mins of calling, or more?
Were the calls to local mobile numbers, or landlines/foreign numbers?
When you say you got it from subscription from Tele2, do you mean a contract? Or did you pay full up-front cost for the phone?
Can a mod close this thread because the format is making it impossible to answer?
