[Q] Official CM9 stable camera - HTC Sensation

Hi there!
I've tried many roms but im always coming back to CM9 because I find it fastest and stabliest. But I'm really unhappy with CM9 camera.
So:
-Is it possible to make CM9 camera interface in 16:9 proportions?
-Is it possible to make CM9 camera record 1080p videos with working autofocus?
Answer my Q's and prepare for "thanks" avalanche

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901917So:
Yes, maybe try the 4.2 MOD that has the 16:9 mode, the 22 nov one
No, also like in cm10 and 10.1, i think it won't be possible

But will 4.2 camera work with ics?

Yes, i think, maybe before do a nandroid, flash and check
if it doesn't work i'll look for other options...
For example THIS camera has 16:9 mode if you check 6.4 mp mode, and the + app that has no ads, but you musta pay

Desire S problem HW video and camera on cm kernel

I have a problem with the camera and video hardware to all custom firmware which are based on cyanogenmod kernel. Camera work but does not move and hardware video on player don*t move. On firmware are based on stock all right work. I've tried everything hboot and recovery but result is the same. Install Miui 2.1.6.08 then install kernel UNITY_V9_2.6.35.14 is the only variant when camera well works but hardware video does not work at all. I hope to help developers!

Start a new thread because of that everyone devs is silent. May be see here.
I've got this very same issue. I was on MIUI 1.12.30 and on Lowveld's Reaper v1.1, both really good ROMs but for some reason, the camera preview window freezes after a couple of seconds. pictures come out ok though. same thing when playing videos either through a browser or even a local video file saved in the sd card, the video playback would freeze after a couple of seconds but the audio is normal.
if viewing video camera captured in program mode it shows normally but the problem remains
If viewing video touch on the screen then video moves and camera too
The same problem
I have the same problem - any help would be really appreciated.
i have got the same problem here.
tried to use Reaper 3.0 but got the camera problem.
miui, endymion and blindice works well with the camera on my DS.
i got hboot 2.00.0002, sense 3.0 and S-ON
the app "pudding camera" works for me as a half solution, since it only takes pictures and no video, but the camera is working with this app.
hope there will be a solution soon
i know its been month since the last post
I am on reaper v3 and my camera and videocamera are working.
UNfortunately i just don't get the same good pics as with sense roms.
It's a real shame, as i take many pictures and at the same time i couldnt live without reaper rom. it's just perfect, apart from the camera thing.
im using lg camera and sometimes get better results, but in low light the noise is really unbearable. tried different settings of iso and stuff but nothing.
i dont know about developing, so sorry is the question is dumb but using a different kernel would help?

Camera app

Hi
I was wondering what's a good camera app in the market that takes good pictures and video. I tried the camera ICS but it looks like the video quality is lower than the stock app even at 720p setting. I also tried UCam Ultra, but looks like that app hangs when using video mode
Thanks
i don't think that apps can improve the image quality, you may use filters or some effects to sharpen the photos, correct colors or resize the image.
try camera 360?

I am having issues with setting the video quality to maximum. Still image is not a problem with the stock camera. The camera app that comes with the CM based roms appears to not properly switch the resolution to 1280x720. Seems to be always stuck at 640x480. I also tried camera ics with the same issue. I was looking for an alternate camera app that shoots video on par with the stock camera on the stock ics rom. The stock ics rom camera will not work on custom roms due to its dependence on touchwiz which is a bummer.
Camera 360 doesn't appear to shoot video.
am sorry my friend, av never used a cm build before.
if you canot change the video quality, you should post a bug report on cm thread.

stock camera is very good quality & working burst mode but it doesnt have force recording to 40 MB or sound recorder to 320 like in venom
but i use an app dont know where i found the source from jb 4.3.1 to use the photo sphere from it because it's cool feature
P.S : the 4.3.1 camera install doesnt override the original camera or gallery

You should try this:
1. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.lite
2. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magix.camera_mx
But on non sense based roms quality of photos will be very poor due to missing htc image chip libs (drivers) in non sense based roms.
Thank you,
Going to test both.
Why it's a so big problems to get these drivers? Why HTC don't give them like we can see in PC world ?

In the old time, you really need a stock camera to get the best quality out but I think now some of 3rd party apps actually done a good job without dedicated ISP like Snap Camera HDR(also supports video recording on our phone [email protected] 20Mbit).
I've been tested it(just a couple of days before) on One S and found result isn't bad for a non-stock camera, the older ver of Snap Camera HDR is bad quality but recent ver does improved much. I actually think that the quality is real close to stock but the zero shutter lag function doesn't seems to be working on our phone and buggy, don't enable it. I set the JPEG quality to best, disabled preview cropping, turn the sharpen to 10~ 15 from 5(default is too soft) and you may also want to enable Stable Shot as well.

Playstore ver only available to 5.4 while the latest one on XDA is 6.3

Some guys also reported CameraNext Modded is a good camera on CM12, maybe give it a try too.
