Hello .
Thanks for looking into my question.
My English is not good enough ,but i tried my best to explain my problem.
My mobile is Samsung Galaxy S GT I9003 ,and 4 month ago i installed CM9 alpha 14 ROM on my mobile.and somewhere on XDA i read to swap internal and external memory.so i did it on my mobile. and from last one month my mobile was draining too much battery so i thought to install a new ROM ( SLIM BEAN ) . and i was having mobile ODIN so i tried to install using it.while installation it was taking too long ..more then 15 minutes .so i though that mobile ODIN may be not working so i switch off my mobile in between.
and after starting it was a Samsung logo animation loop. and now i thought to install it using recovery and install from SD card..
but mobile recovery is not showing external sd card, and i have no idea how i can install it...
I also tried to install from desktop ODIN but SLIMBEAN zip have lot of files .. and i think this ROM can only be installed using External SD card..
Please help me how to install...
IF it can be installed using Desktop ODIN that would be great or if i can get path of external SD card in recovery mode..
thanks

you always have to flash a custom rom via cwm recovery NOT via odin or mobile odin!
you should try to flash pit and full kpe via desktop odin and then you have to flash ddlf2 and cf-root .
after this you can flash the rom you want via cwm recovery

That's the way it is.
Go back to the one you had before if you want to flash from microSD.
OK but how can I do it?
I have the old CWM recovery file file but I'm unable to load it from SD card Also i can not run file manager to move files to internal storage
Transfer it from your computer to your TF's internal storage?

Yes the 5.5.0.4 and 5.8.1.8 flash file from the internal storage.
It work great, just keep in mind NOT to use something like the Superwipe script
as it will wipe everything from the internal storage, leaving you with nothing to flash and no OS.
So ive been at this for 2 days. I finally got the micro sd card with both files to install rom but in clockworkmod recovery i cant mount sd card nor format or anything. I can mount and unmount in the normal settings of the device and see it in root explorer but thats it. Its formatted to fat32. also on rom manager where it says to install from sdcard it only takes u to the internal sdcard which makes no sense because i was told u cant install a rom from the internal sdcard.
PS. This is my first Android Device!!!!
yeah
I am in the exact same situation. I am rooted on 4.0.3 and I wanted to install 4.0.4 or one of the custom ROM's. This is not my first android device but I am at a loss. I can not enter fastboot, can't load anything from the SD card in CWM recovery (get the message E:Can't mount /sdcard/), can not connect via ADB on my PC.
I feel that I have enough skill to do all of this because I have done it in the past. My ADB works fine with my Galaxy Nexus (just updated that and installed new kernel) so I don't know what is causing the problem. I have tried different SD cards(3) as well and nothing.
The biggest problem is I can not get into fastboot and SBF if I wanted to. I have been having issues with drivers even though I have installed motohelper like 6 million times.
I have tried factory resets and wipes and everything. I tried to do the factory update that is being pushed to me and I get an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry if this is stealing your thread but I think we are having the same problems.
check out my thread at xoomforums:
I PM'd it to u cus it dont let me put it here
Read all 3 pages. I think it will help u. posted same question there and a guy suggested to install the rogue cwm 1.5 recory via adb fastboot or whatever. he says that will read your sdcards. if i were u id try and fastboot on a different pc cus it looks like thats what we both have to do unfortunately. it looks like a pain!!! u have a xoom?
anyone figured out how to sort this?? really frustrating it just sayin E:can't mount sd card.. any help will be appreciated!!

If you are using CWM recovery from Rom Manager (not recommended for Xoom) it does only read your internal flash memory (called sdcard) but not your external microsd card (called external1???). So you need to flash a different custom recovery using adb/fastboot to flash a recovery.image file or, if you can flash through cwm (from internal sdcard) a recovery.zip file (either EOS or Rogue, depending on the ROM you will flash afterwards), Actually, any custom recovery is supposed to work for any rom, but in reality Eos works best for Eos and Rogue works best for the CM9 Kang.
Please, just remember, never flash a .zip file through fastboot, only an .image file!
+1 i agree with the above, fixed this last night. I download a couple recovery images, which were blank for some reason, so i downloaded the zips and extracted the recovery image folder. Then opened the command window from the folder with the recovery image and flashed it with fastboot. Now it works perfect.

Thanks for saving the last half of my hair which I hadn't pulled out yet.
Got the backup on SD ONLY after flashing the EOS recovery 1.5.0 (i tried the latest to begin with, did not work, made it worse flashing recovery from ROM Mgr)
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/mot...ing-flashing-unrooting-under-one-roof-59.html has this particular recovery listed.
I still cannot boot in recovery using power+volUP...i have to get at least adb running. Any suggestion would be golden.

This is my first attempt at unlocking and rooting. So far I did manage to get unlocked. Now I am stuck at: Can't mount/sdcard . . . . .
I have been following the thread: [HOW] Rookie Rooting, Flashing And UnRooting Under One Roof
It seems to be layed out quite well and well, I'd never have gotten this far if it weren't for following those directions. I'm not discouraged because I know this is just a stumbling block. I can't wait to kill the bloatware and see if I can O/C this beast just a little.
Good luck to the folks who posted above me. I will post my results here.
Mike P.
I think the solution is much more simple...
The recovery uses normally e: an external sd card , you just trying by d: internal sd card , so take another sd card and dun let it be internal sd card...
And the recovery back on working with you
I have recently purchased Canvas HD and from the very first day I have started experiments on it, rooted on the very first day, had to work on it till 2am, SP flash tool was not recognizing my Canvas HD. Then I used the latest version of Flash tool and it done the trick. And in the last 5 days I must have tried 4 different Custom ROMs on my Canvas HD. Yesterday I tried Jelly Xperia v2 my flash gone smooth then I made a mistake of restoring applications backup of MegaHD ROM and to the worse I restored with system application without thinking that MegaHD is based on v2 and Xperia is based on v1 and now my problem started, it started giving continuous error of some google service stopped, I hit ok it again reappeared. So I though of uninstalling gmail somehow I manage to get into setting>apps>gmail and hit uninstall update, my phone shuts down and tried to reboot and stick on the booting animation. I don't have any backup or zip in the internal memory of my canvas HD, I have also swapped the internal and external memory. I tried putting Jelly Xepria.zip in the SD card but when I go to install zip from SD card it is not showing the zip, I guess it must be accessing the internal memory of my Canvas HD. And in the process I have already
1. Wipe Data/Factory Reset and Wipe Partition
2. Cleared Dalvik Cache
3.Cleared the Battery State
4. Already formated System from mount and Storage.
Now the question is................... how can I access Canvas HD's internal memory so that I can either put some backup in it or put some custom ROM in the internal memory so that I can install some other or the same custom ROM?
My phone is comfortably booting into the recovery menu.
I know I can solve it .............it is just a matter of time.
Please suggest me guys, what should I do now?
Internal memory access issue while doing CMW recovery
Lets see if I can help you. What I understand is, you want to flash a new ROM and now that the zip file is not there in the internal SD<, you cant access it.
Try this option now.
1. Go to CWM recovery first
2. Connect your Canvas HD to the computer using the MicroUSB
3. Volume down to Mounts and Storage
4. You will see an option called Mount SD1 and Mount SD2. Since you have swapped the SDs, I suggest you mount both the SDs by clicking on the power button for each of the option.
5. GO down to Mount USB storage and click on that
Now if the hardware gets detected on your computer, the Internal SD option will open up on the computer. Now just copy paste the zip file into that - Unmount all the mounted items and just flash! Should work! (Not guaranteeing though)
Hope this helps!

As I said it was just a matter of time, I did exactly the same, just after posting the the thread though I have transferred the zip as well as CWM folder i.e. backup of my earlier ROM as well but I flashed my Canvas HD with the Jelly Xperia v2 ROM and it did the trick. This ROM is really awesome but I am experiencing strange problem during charging my touch screen is behaving like mad, some button pressed twice and some are not responding at all. And now I have two search bars on the home screen and I am unable to remove it, when I long press, it is opening the browser. Anyways would solve this little problem as well. But what about "awkward behaviour of touch screen during charging?"
If you can suggest me something on this, it would be great.
Thanks for the reply though.

I guess you are lucky that you didn't face any problem, I have also tried that ROM but it was forcing my device to reboot every now and then so I had to change the ROM. Till now I must have tried 4-5 ROM and according to my the stock ROM was the best didn't face any issues with it. But UI of Jelly Deamon was the best.

You have two options:
1. Either flash Custom Recovery using SP Flash tool and then flash any flashable ROM using custom recovery.
OR
2. Flash Stock ROM using SP Flash tool.
Hi all,
I have in the past install cyanogenmod 10.1 via Clockwork Recovery Mod. I was "playing" around and basically I am stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" (formatting things in Recovery.....I know stupid!)
Most ROMS seem to suggest installing via Clockwork by copying the files over to the SD card, I am a little lost because I cannot even boot to android and Clockwork doesn't seem to allow USB storage (not sure if it was designed to).
I assume I can flash cyanogenmod again using ODIN? If so how would I go about doing this? Download mode is working fine so fingers crossed you guys can help.
Many thanks!!!!!

If download mode is working, why not just download the original rom for your tablet - get back to stock, and start over ? Not sure if your formatting may have changed something - I would feel more comfortable flashing back to stock with ODIN, and starting my rooting / upgrading / flashing from a solid / stock base.
Just my .02 cents
Good luck, and hopefully someone will jump in with a more useful option
Regards,
You can switch your internal and external storage, so your tablet thinks everything on your sd card is your internal storage. This way you should be able to access your internal storage again (unless your phone doesn't even give you the option to select internal storage). You can do this with the Link2SD app. Besides, this way your internal storage has more space too.

I wanted to use apps like Titanium BackUpPro and Avast so I rooted my phone flashing CWM v3.55 via Odin and have been using it with out any problems for a while.
Then I decided that I would like to flash a custom rom like cm and I downloaded Rom Manager thinking it to be the right tool... ?
I let Rom Manager flash the latest version of CWM recovery 6.0.4.6 ...
but when I look on the apps on my phone I find CWM v3.55-Chainfire ? and

When booting in rcovery mode my phone enters the android system recovery e3 and I get an Error message:
E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument)
What exactly does this mean ???
Should I try flashing CWM 6 non toutch via Odin or flash back stock ROM?
I thought I would try backing up to an ext SD card so I orderd a SanDisc mircosd 64GB card but the problem still remains.
I still cant back up my ROM using ROM Manager or CWM
Why ? What happend?
I tried formating the SD card with ROM Magager but SD card fails to load. I tried formating with gparted fat32. Still wont load...
The ext SD card shows up in the file exlporer on my phone just fine but
I can't seem to be able to get Rom Manager to recognize it and CWM recovery isn't working.
So instead of backin up my exsiting ROM to the SD card maybe it would be a better idea to install CWM and CM to the SD card
and keep my ROM on the internal SD as it is???
I tried creating a bootable ext sd card with CWM and CM like here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_acclaim
but when it comes to booting the phone in recovery mode I still get the E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument) message....?
How do I boot from ext sd card?
Whats my next best move?
I have a working rooted ROM on my local SD card with all my apps backed up in clowd. But my recovery mode issue remains to be resolved.
and I have a 64GB ext SD card with CWM and CM on it but I can't install with Rom Manager? because SD card fails to load.
