Blackberry problem - General Topics

Hello xda,
I have a problem with my Blackberry Backup File. I currently don't have my Blackberry and I want to transfer my contacts from Backup File (One without .IPD just .BBB) to my new Android phone. I have tried many software but only one that can open the new Backup File must be registered to export the contacts. I also tried with IPDextractor and I get blank fields. Any one here can help?
Thanks alot!
P.S. I had Blackberry Bold 9900 with Desktop Software 7.1

need to extract Contacts from backup.stg file

Anyone know of PC software that can open a Backup.stg file, and let me extract the Contacts into a usable format?
I've tried STGViewer - but its doesn't seem to let me do anything with the extracted Contact files.
I've tried to download Mobile Vault from;
http://hometown.aol.com/anyware/wce/MobileVault/index.htm
but the download link isn't working.
Thanks in advance.

Help me please! I have backup in CompactFlash format and i haven't the xBackup program. How i can open this backup? I need the address book!!!!!
BIG thanks to u and the creator of this software.
even activesync was unable to restore some of my data which included the contacts.
Please someone help...I've backed up my contacts using my windows 2003 second edition pocket pc in a STG file format...I lost my device and bought a new one with a windows mobile 6 edition..I used "mobile vault" to read the STG file , but I can't find the "Contacts" file database...could any one help please find my contacts & extract them from that STG file...Thanks for reading
possibe alternative solution
Activesync restore was telling me that the database files were in use. The running programs application in my 02 xda doesn't really show all running programs. I installed magic button and when the active sync tells restore tells me to check the running programs, I just ran magic button and killed everything except for activesync. Click on retry and the databases where restored successfully.

Sorry, i have a QTEK-8310
Hi
But flashing the ROM loose all personnal data.
How can we do to dump all the phone, ROM + data (SMS, contact, file, etc....) ?
Thx
I found this on the forum:
This is the way i backup my phone
Your phone should be Registry and App unlocked..
Sync your phone, copy folders /Application Data - /Program Files - /Windows/Start Menu - /Windows/Start Up - to your Desktop (PC)
Install Registry Explorer with Resco Registry
Export HKCR,HKCU, HKLM then copy the .reg files on PC
Backup Contact, SMS, Call History with Jeyo Mobile Companion
--NOW DO YOUR HARD RESET OR REFLASHING THE SAME ROM--
Now, restoration...
App Unlock your device
Copy folders /Application Data - /Program Files - /Windows/Start Menu - /Windows/Start Up - to your Phone thru Active Sync. (Overwrite all)
Copy the .reg files from your PC to phone..
Install Resco Explorer with Resco Registry and Import the .reg files
Restore your Contacts thru Jeyo Mobile Companion
Restart device
there you go, you got now a clean setup of your device with all your apps and customizations. One thing, some apps wont work/launch with this procedure, you may need to reinstall them and if you try to, it will prompt that it couldn't be removed and if you wanna still continue installing, just hit Yes and install it on the same directory where it was on your previous setup.

download the latest qtek rom from xda:[email protected] and keep copy wid ya if ya need.
I believe that is enough simpler to make a backup with Sprite Backup before flash the ROM. If one becomes to the previous ROM (with which backup was made) it recovers the ready backup.
Although I have not proven it, I believe that also it would serve a copy done with ActiveSync.
Greetings
Sprite backup is the right choice! Just make a backup from your file system to the storage card, and if you want to downgrade your OS, just do that, and then run the backup file (it's an executable file). That's all!

there is only the ROM for Qtek-8300 available, Exist another way to find the original ROM??
THX.
maybe this is good for you:
http://www.smartmobil.no/index.php?name=UpDownload&req=getit&lid=84
thx for your support, but I think this is the version for QTEK-8300
Or you can use XDA-Tools
Sprite backup shouldnt be used when going from WM5 to WM6, it will corrupt your PIM and mail databases...
As for the original ROM for the Qtek 8310:
http://www.modaco.com/Smartphone-ROM-Compatibil-t250510.html
Third post has all the tornado ROM links

when you were storing a contact where you were choosing to store it?
google account,sim or phone?
go to dialer if you can in contacts tab and in the top you will see options for showing contacts
there you will see where they are stored

I always saved my contacts on the phone, not SIM or Google.
On the contacts tab I have selected SIM ( 9 numbers from my Carrier ) and Phone ( 0 )
Can you tell me please if the contacts are saved in a file and if so, what is the name of the file and what is the path to the file.
Thanks.

I found it one of itsme_4ucz's posts:
The contacts are stored in a SQLite3 database file so the file format is ".db"
The development tool Android Debug Bridge (ADB) can be used to extract the file from an EMULATOR
ADB can also extract the file from a phone but it must be rooted first AND the ADB drivers must be installed on your machibe as well
(Rooting is NOT for beginners though)
The contacts.db file is stored in the protected system memory, the file path is:
data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts.db

In << /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/ >> I have no contacts.db file
This is the list of the files from my databeses folder:
Code:
contacts2.db
contacts2.db-journal
contacts2.db-mj073D7E1F
profile.db
profile.db-journal
Can I recover my contacts from this files ???

Restoring db files back to Android phone

Hello gang,
Its been a while since I got on this site. Here's my situation; I was able to back up my sms and it was saved as a db file. I had lots of important messages and pics that were sent to me and I would like to retrieve it. I have an Android phone at the moment and installed Airdroid and sms backup & restore app, but I just can't seem to get this to work. How do I get my db files back on the Android phone and be able to see my messages?
Hmmm ...
How did you backup the messages in DB ?
