I have tried to get my XT926 to do the OTA update several times including doing a complete wipe install of Matt's Utility 1.10. and ICS. Every time I start the System Update 0.7.2 the phone will restart and the update will not install and I just get the Red Explanation Point!
Suggestions Please!

Hi Guys
I managed to install the Sensation XE Rom on the normal sensation by changing the CID and i also managed to get the phone to detect and download the required OTA update, but when the OTA download finishes i get a message that this update is not intended for my phone and the phone does not install it
is there a manual way to install the update ? I have tried to install it manually through recovery but it did not work, i am getting errors, and ideas ????
Thanks
Hi There!
A few months ago I've installed clockworkmod 3.2.0.0, in a failed attempt to upgrade my MZ604 UK Xoom to ICS from 3.2.
I forgot about this device for a while. Today I received the OTA update for ICS. But after downloading, and when it rebooted, it entered into the recovery of clockworkmod.
I really don't know what to do. I tried to just reboot and think that it would bypass, but after starting it shuts down into recovery. Tried to shutdown, same problem
I now have a device that only reboots
Could someone help me how to apply the google official update?
REgards
flash stock xoom images and then waite for ics update

Hi Here I have a BIG problem with understanding whats going on. This is forth week how i'm trying to push update for GB 2.3.1.
a little story:
I had ICS based MIUI rom installed for around 1.5 year and was extremely happy with its UI and performance and regular weekly updates - since it become more and more lagy after every update. my phone was to week for its software and I decided go back stock.
My phones current details

baseband : I9020XXKB3 (under battery GT-I9020T)
kernel : 2.6.35.7-g7f1638a

So what I done next i downloaded Odin and flashed stock gb 2.3.1 and now i can not update it in any way. System tryes to push OTA 4.0.1 but it ends up with following

It's normal you can't flash OTA because you have a custom recovery. You need stock recovery for that. You can download a factory image from Google, extract it and flash the recovery inside using fastboot.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#soju
ALSO, stop using Odin. There's no need to use Odin or nearly on Nexus S. This thing is nearly unbreakable and you have more chances of breaking stuff with Odin than anything else.
thanx for quick replay
flashed factory GB 2.3.6 straight away using sdk tools
now will root it and install custom clockwork recovery to prevent from automatic OTA updating to lagy ICS
Use FOTAKill instead,

Thanx for good advice. Installed it allready.

I have been trying to get my phone to update following the directions for the past year almost and have had no luck.
EDIT*: I am trying to do the OTA update that i am being prompted to do (9.16.6)
I am on:
Android Version 4.1.1
System Verison 9.1.41XT926
Bootloader: unlocked
Safestrap
I am trying to get to Android 4.3 but when I go to voodoo OTA rootkeeper and temp unroot then download and try and install the update my phone reboots like its starting the install but then shows the android the with the ! coming out of him then it restarts and upon restart it tells me that the update failed.
What am I doing wrong and how can I get these updates to work!
Thanks,
Tyler Hegamyer
There isn't an official 4.3. And if your trying to flash a custom 4.3 you need to be unlocked running a custom recovery.

i would suggest abandoning ss unless the rom you want is only supported through ss (rare but possible).
i would:
-disable ss
-use the 1.33 utility in the dev forum to update and return to the latest stock
-use the same utility to root
-use the same utility to flash a custom recovery
--boot into recovery and witpe data/cache/"data-media(cwm recovery specific)" to be sure everything is gone
-choose the rom of your chice from the dev forum and flash in recovery as directed by the rom's dev.
Don't use safe strap. Delete the partion and uninstall it. Use cwm or twrp. And might want to change the title then your not accepting a ota your flashing a custom rom.

I'm also having some troubles. Trying to apply the new update (rooted with stock 4.1.2) keeps resulting in "signature verification failed" in CWM. I have to then wipe the cache so it doesn't keep trying to reboot and apply the update. I've also tried unfreezing all the bloat in TitaniumBackup but got the same results.
Does anyone know a solution for this?
EDIT: I've also tried running OTA rootkeeper app and it still failed.

the ota will not work through a custom recovery such as cwm, you need to put the stock recovery back on.
I have tryed OTA upgrade and when It woud prompt me to the upgrade installation window and I'd confirm it. My phone would shut down and enter TWRP custom recovery and upgrade would fail for some reason then if I wouldn't delete chache my phone would continuesly reboot to TWRP and try to install the update with failure. I jave tryed to use MDM too but it just wouldn't find my device. Tryed disabling USB DEBUGING and making USB CONNETION as MEDIA DEVICE STORAGE still nothing have worked to make my device identified.
I have read that I need to install ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED FIRMWARE, but I don't know how and which tools should I use.
Thank you!
Omg of course you need untoched stock ROM, you can't install this with custom recovery, you need to flash stock 4.4.4 via mfastboot, then upgrade motorola update services and you will get OTA to install, search for tutorial about how to install stock rom, and this is not Q&A section....
