Hi Friends,
I have Sony Xperia J running ICS. When I connect it to computer in MTP mode, duplicate files and folders are created automatically in External SD Card. However these folders are empty and on deleting this folders they again regenerates on next time when I Connect the phone to pc. Also Phone Antivirus and PC Antivirus are up todate and they dint report any virus.
Any one experience the same thing. Do someone have the solution for this.
The duplicate files and folders that are created are having same name as the original one...
Is it when you delete the folders, it came back again? Definitely a virus on pc side. Try kaspersky or avast, and not avira free. Can you delete the unwanted folders using the phone?
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
Current problem:
Cant get past installing flash drivers in xp.
I checked it with Kaspersky that is a premium version. It shows no virus.
It happens that Two folders with same name is shown, one is empty and one is with the files which are originaly there (say some Photos in Images Folder) Two folders with name "Images" shows in the SD Card one is having actual photos in it and another is empty. If I delete empty Images folder then it gets deleted and after that when I disconnect it from PC and check with with File Manager in Phone, then the actual Photos that were in the "Images" is not shown i.e. Deleted (though I have not deleted them but only deleted the empty IMAGES folder)
This happens for all the folders...
Is there any solution.....?

Did it happen on mtp or mass storage or both? It seems using pc companion also causing this issue. So to avoid it, I just use mass storage with pc companion turned off.

I am not using PC Companion. I have uninstalled it from the PC.
It happens only in MTP mode. But I require to use only MTP mode because I want to copy data from internal SD card to External SD card. Internal SD Card is not available in Mas Storage Mode.

In the X10 you have:
-SEMC File Storage (microSD)
-SEMC Mass storage (~13-15MB)
I change my card from 8gb to 16gb with no copy of this and PC Companion its working for me. Maybe its something wrong with your usb or PC. In the Mass Storage you have PC Companion. In the first connection of your X10 to PC the PC Companion its installing. Click double on the Sony Ericsson PC Companion drive in your "My Computer" and application will start.
Uploaded PC Companion(SDcard+MassStorage):

(upload in progress, file ~230MB)

When I connect my Sony Xperia Tipo to my PC with USB debugging on, the only folder that pops up on my PC is the external SDHC card. I cannot see and access the main folder on the built in memory of the Tipo. Please help! I am needing to access the main folder to put .apk files in the sdcard folder.
Your phone is in mass storage mode put it in media transfer mode

Hi,
Here's my problem.
I've sucefully rooted my Xperia J, but I'm falling on a doubt: I installed link2sd with root privileges and tried to transfer apps to my 16 GB sd card. But the phone tells me that this card is an ext_sd partition and link2sd is transfering things to the phone memory wich is called here SDcard.
How do I manage to transfer and link apps properly in the "real" SD card? I'm trying to install Nova 3 in my phone but, with 2 GB of internal memory its almost impossible to put the data files in there.
Thanks since now.
Edit: I'm using a stock 4.0.4 Android version 11.0.A.7.5 (I just bought the phone)
No it will not work. Nova 3 will want to stick huge data to internal sd (the 2gb). Better do vold.fstab unless you download the datafiles via pc and do foldermount.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
Current problem:

Yeah, I tried the folder mount and installed the game, but even with that, tha game told me I didn't have enough space to install so I gave up.
I guess I'll have to install a custom rom that allows me to do everything inside the bigger SD card.
If anyone has any other ideas , I'd appreciate.
Thanks anyway.
You can still install it if you do mod vold.fstab. Ive installed alot of hd games to the external sd card this way. You should check J vold.fstab.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
