I just got a new Software Update 3.33.707.6 for HTC Sensation and I updated my phone !
I had HTC Sense 3.6 and Android Version 4.0.3.. My cell was working fine without any problem before update.. But just after updating my phone today two main problems arises.
1 - My WIFI Stops working.
2 - Even though my Auto Synchronize is off, but when I opens my WIFI (that's not working) the Synchronize indicator beside WIFI indicator gets appear.
Help me get out of this problem.
P.S: My phone isn't rooted.

Without rooting your phone, you can't do much to fix it on your own. Call your provider and have them push an OTA fix for you.

Hi!
Same problem, but could solved.
I connected the phone to pc via usb cable, then chosen internet pass through (not sure this is the correct name in english menu because i use hungarian).
It was able to synchronize, and the icon has gone.
Before updating sw wifi was on and after that i was not able using internet, however i had lan connection.
I used static ip. After changing to dhcp the problem is gone and i can use static ip again. Perhaps it was a dns error. My phone isn't rooted too. Sorry for my poor english

From what I've read, it's a DNS error and seems to affect users with static IP settings. Here's how I "solved" the problem:
1. Connect to another WiFi access point (I use my wife's Desire S to create a WiFi Hotspot)
2. Surf the net
3. Reconnect to your original WiFi access point
Note that it will revert once you restart the phone.

@trinyo: I did the same you written above ! when I connected my phone via Internet Pass through, that synchronize icon disappeared and internet started working, after that I disconnected the cable and connected my phone via Wireless internet but had same problem "WIFI din't work" although that synchronize icon not showing now.

Ah !! Thanks guys.. finally my WIFI start working !!
1 - Connected my phone Via USB Cable.
2 - Surfed net for few mins, until that synchronize icon disappeared.
3 - Restarted my phone and Connected it to another wifi. (used Hotspot of my Sony Ericsson X10)
4 - Then again reconnected to my own wifi.
and it started working ! :good:

hi..dont know how to post new threads..im sorry if i open my topic here.id like to ask about connecting my psp go on my samsung galaxy y gt s-5360.got always dns error..can you guys help me out fixing this problem..i dont know if rooting my phone and installing custom themes affect my glxy y tethering.if you guys know how to fix dns error in psp go while connecting on my galaxy y's internet pls help me..thnks in advance...

After automatic update on my HTC sensation XE to 3.33.111.107 soft update, I lost internet connection on some routers that I used to connect. Of course, HTC was connecting to routers without problem (DHCP or Static) but no internet connection. I can even enter to router setup page and do everything in setup, but no internet. It looks like DNS problem. I even put ip addres of google i browser addres bar, but nothing. I reset router, change security settings on ruoter, restart phone, erase wifi connection in phone.. :silly:
anyway... My internet over wifi router start working after:
1. connect to other phone hot spot in same room where is problematic router (d-link DIR615)
2. surf little on internet over hot spot network
3. click on hot spot network and select on forget network
4. connect to router wifi network

Has anyone been successful in getting wifi tethering (mobile hotspots) to work on a CM10 rom? I use wifi tether for root users. And it seems to work when I connect from a laptop or PC with wifi but it just doesn't seem to wanna work when I try to connect another android device such as an sgs3. Is there some kinda setting or something I'm missing? I'm using a P6200

searched a long time for the solution of the same problem... seems it´s like a strategic plan of t he producers... if it would be easy nobody would pay the 100 euros difference to upgrade to a 3g version...
found a solution (not perfect, only for emergency cases) for me: i installed open garden wifi tethering (from market) onto my htc hd2 - miui (stable version 6 by langthang). hence in its settings: activate "use bluetooth connection (pan)". enable bluetooth on the tab.
start tethering by pushing the large wifi-symbol on handyscreen. give superuser permission; confirm the pairing. just wait some seconds; then you have to enter into the settings of the new paired bluetooth device on the tab (in my case its simply called hd2) and activate the internet-option.
Now it should work (you can see the traffic on the handy-screen)

Hi is it possible to remove the possibility to use WIFI completely, like mod so it doesnt show up under settings at all?
if that is possible how would i go about making it happen?
For now im trying this on Samsung TAB 2.0 7" (Want to completely remove WiFI Function)

Well lets us just say, its for someone who isnt allowed to use internet (However i will be setting an USB network dongle for upgrades etc that i can plugin when needed), ok let us supose i remove files from root that has whit wifi like drivers etc needed for it and mod menus to not include wifi?
If you're serious about doing this then the best way would be to edit the kernel instead. Remove all Wi-Fi drivers and capabilities from the kernel and you should be able to achieve what you want to.
I'm interested in this too, because my Samsung Galaxy Xcover2 felt badly and after that wifi chip started to fry, so I had to remove it. Now phone works and mobile data connection works perfect, but wifi sometimes is trying to connect. So if I can remove Wifi and BT functionality completely it would be great.
install root explorer mount r/w go to system/lib/modules delete wlan files that it ur wifi wont work anymore :silly:
Hi I can't seem to get WiFi signal at top of screen,I've tried turning g phone on and off, WiFi on and off and even reset to factory settings. Any ideas as can't use WiFi at moment ....... Thanks colin

Hi, I've a problem with my Wiko Bloom on Android 4.4 that the Wi-Fi connection keeps disconnecting or dropping after some while even when Wi-Fi Always ON mode is enabled. Everytime I need to manually re-enable the Wi-Fi toggle. I found out the same problem also existed on another Wiko Bloom.
Does someone know a solution or fix for this?
EDIT: Got it fixed by creating sysctl.conf in /etc and add the settings below:

its probably some battery saving setting or app at play
i have the same problem on my wiko U feel lite, someone have an solution?
