I've never done it... if you dial Verizon Customer Service they should be able to field that question
Verizon Wireless
Customer Service
(800) 922-0204
Monday-Sunday 6am-11pm
Emergency Service Hours
Monday-Sunday 11pm-6am
Just realized that the good old *611 now just pulls up the "my verizon mobile" app... guess it has been a while since i've called VZW for support (it has been since the LG VX-6100 days)
EDIT: I suppose that is only if you are looking for a VZW prepaid option... sorry for being less than helpful.

I just looked at my bank statement to find a monthly bill for Clear Wireless Internet @12.99 on there.
I never signed up for this. Anyone know about this company or did someone get my banking info and are using it to my detriment?

Ive never heard of them. Couldve been part of some bundled service u may have ordered in the past....ive seen it happen afew times with magazine/game/movie subscription trial packages. Could also be a service that u have been using just changed their name or now use third party billing. If its neither of those just call ur bank, close the card,& file a dispute.
Clear wireless Is who provides sprints 4g network WiMAX

I think someone got my bank info and is using my card. I have Verizon and this service has nothing to do with me.
Calling the bank Monday.
The charge is for $12.99 a month. They don't have a service that inexpensive.

OK so I leave to Puerto Rico on Saturday. Then two days later on a cruise out of San juan. Anyway I called verizon today to let them know so they can enable my global capabilities. The fees per minute and megabyte are ridiculous obviously. The Verizon rep I spoke to said I won't be charged if I keep my phone on wifi. I plan to keep it on airplane mode till I enable wifi. I'm leaving my daughter behind and I want to be able to call and check up on her without a ridiculous bill. Is anyone aware of any wifi calling apps that will allow free international calls. I have google voice but I'm not sure if that will work. Any help is appreciated.

You can get wifi calling through signing up for gvoice and using sipdroid, but the wifi on the ships is expensive. From what I remember you can use your phone in Puerto Rico, but it's pricey and theres not much free wifi.
Good luck finding cheap service and have fun.

Thanks I think the verizon rep made an assumption that wifi on the ship would be free. I figured it will would be as well. This sucks my bill will be ridiculous.

Cruise ship wifi is not free from the ones I've been on. But if you really need to call home use a VoIP clients and a VoIP provider. I use Bria and configured it to Flowroute (https://support.flowroute.com/entries/20325927-how-to-configuring-bria-softphone-on-the-iphone).
Another option (this one is free) use gtalk over wifi and then initiate a voicecall.
Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

I'm going to get a used Samsung galaxy s 2 skyrocket in a few, and I was wondering if I could get att's gophone service on it? I would love the 50 dollar a month service but it seems a little bit too good to be true. Anybody have any info or tips for me? Or will this work out? Thanks in advance!

I'f I'm not mistaken you must have a specific type of gophone sim card for it to work, like one out of a prepaid smart phone through them. I highly recommend looking at straight talk. They have a BYOD "Bring Your Own Device" program where they will sell you an AT&T compatible sim card with unlimited everything for $45.00/month. That's what I'm using and my service is phenomenal, no dropped calls, get service in building's etc....
And straight talk is cheaper...how is their internet speeds? Fast or slow, because its not a straight talk phone so I'm assuming that the speeds will be kept at a minium.

I use straight talk with my skyrocket and I average between 3-7 mbps.

Cool, that's good enough for me. I did the math and att has got to be crazy for what they want with a smartphone plan. 50 dollars a month for 250 min for talk, unlimited text and 1gb of data for 50 a month??? Crazy! Thanks again for the straightalk suggestion! I just ordered the att sim card for it.. but how did you get your phone unlocked so you could get straight talk?

You do not have to unlock your phone to use it with straight talk because the sim card you purchase through them is for att compatible phones so it's the same bands minus lte. When you get the sim card in the mail there will be instructions on how to activate the sim and add an apn.

You are a life saver bro! Now I don't have hunt att down to get a unlock code. Thank you for this info! Can't wait to get my Sim card i'm the mail!

just make sure you remove the trakfone proxy because some services reject access to it, causing the app(s) to return network errors and become unusable.
Thanks for the heads up. So not putting the proxy number in it won't effect the overall service right? Like the texting and calling?

Was looking for this all morning and couldn't find any information, so I thought I'd ask around here. I just got a new job recently where I'll be able to get a free phone and sign up for dealer plans with any of the major carriers. Where I'm at at&t would be my best bet service wise but I was curious if you have to do the same standard credit check and deposit as normal if you're on a dealer plan. I've worked in an at&t call center before and know how ridiculous they get.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bump. Anyone have experience with this?
Sent from my PH44100 using xda premium
Not that I am aware of. I didnt have to do any of that for my dealer plan with ATT but that was years ago so not sure if the policy had changed.
Cool. Would be awesome to set up without some crazy deposit. Hope that's still the case. Should find out for sure in a month or so.

I was looking at Verizon Prepaid devices and I saw this http://www.verizonwireless.com/prepaid/smartphone-plans/moto-g-by-motorola+prepaid/
Has anyone else seen that?
Is it possible to use a Pre-Paid phone on a line with a monthly bill?
Where do you see a reference to a monthly bill? Am I missing it?

I think he is asking if you can use the prepaid VZW Moto G on a postpaid plan.
The answer is yes, but you have to activate the phone by dialing *228. It'll prompt you for your postpaid phone number of the line you want to activate it on, and ask you for your numeric account password. After that, voila, you've got an amazing phone for only $99. I know, because I just did it myself a couple weeks ago.
But don't ask Verizon to activate it for you. They'll tell you that you need to have it active on a prepaid plan for 6 months before it can be moved to a postpaid plan.
I wonder if activating like you said on postpaid would clear the phone for activation on Page Plus.

I doubt it... Activating *228 doesn't change anything on the phone, it just allows you to circumvent the activation restrictions VZW places on devices on their end when you try to activate by web or directly through them.
